Anyone understand the big drop on Cryptsy recently?

Its hard to understand with zerocoin testnet coming soon
Well they started talking about ZC last year, it was first estimated that ZC testnet would be out in March. Then it was estimated that it would be out by mid July. Then it was estimated that it would be out in September. It's natural that people loses faith when deadlines goes by (without any particular explanations as to why). On top of that, zerocash is being developed and is closing in, if zerocash ends up being released before zerocoin I think the spotlight will be on zerocash even though there is a technical differences between them. Everybody is waiting for the zerocoin devs to release a coin so I tend to think ANC will lose its first mover advantage.

And then there has been other developments recently such as the crypto note protocol with currencies like Monero gaining traction. These are already fully functional, anonymous currencies. This is what ANC has to compete with and the longer it takes the less likely it is to succeed.

yea, best would be if you know exactly the day and hour when will be the release of zerocoin, so few minutes before you can buy , and sell 24h after..
Who find anonymity in other coin, I suggest him to stay focused on that coin.

wonder..... is the readable.....? looks really cool though

Not good in chinese translation.

 Grin

great! sounds like that you could read it due to how it looks? size, font, letter spacing, colors...
its google translate just for this purpose, the translation itself will have to be done in another way Smiley

is there anything else we should be aware of? is it better to translate to "simplified chinese" than "traditional chinese"? what are the dirreferences?
or should we say "mandarine"?

n00n ... do you mean readable as in "Is the Mandarin correct" or as in "Does it look good language wise"

Yes it does look awesome ... and I don't speak Mandarin^^ sorry.

I like the "ZeroTrust" idea,
people who know something, but not much will ask themselves "how can one coin be in another"
I mean by Anoncoin with Zerocoin implant..

Word Zero is important to stay in this moment, but I would rather like some kind of AnonTrust or similar..

Ignore guy like teenager bangomatic, he left culture in first month of birth.
This kind of communication he learn on some pump'n dump exchange site chats, or at home.

A few cool ideas by several people but anontrust is the ace of spades.

Anoncoin is the coin.
Anontrust would be a great algorhythm or whatever.

Then there should be a quick summary, a few words, explaining the concept of trustlessness, having security without having to trust in any potentially weak link.

HOW ABOUT CLEARCOIN?

One man sold, and there is no resistance. 1 BTC or less can be played and manipulated with ANC market.
That's why we need more people involved.

Why does no one concern about the TITAN of DPOS ?

that is really anonymous mechanism.

Maybe you can help Anoncoin, I see you know Chinese ?

Yeah, I am chinese .

If I'm correct we're (the team) hiring chinese translations for the client itself. Is this something that might interest you or someone you know?

I can try , how should I do?

And btw, bangomatic sounds like a teenager trying to protect what he thinks will be a cash cow for him.  Forget him, his worthless coin will fade soon enough.  People who don't investigate before throwing in their cash always get taken.

The flip side though is that people have an obligation to keep coins honest.

If you see that someone has launched a coin that was questionnably mined, then paid to put the coin on an exchange, all when the coin is not even ready yet, it is nice to say something to warn people to be cautious. That does seem to be the case with librex or whatever it is called.

Anoncoin is a coin that from the start has had significant privacy features. Some people are excited about potentially adding zerocoin, others not. The work between fluffypony and meeh is much more important for the coin longterm. Regardless there is no comparison between anoncoin and a coin that has not even got basic anonymity features yet but promises to.

Strongly vote against using the name zerotrust. It would sabotage the coin more than anything else.

The few people who understand the arcane reference to trustlessness would be outweighed by the huge number who would instinctively say "zerotrust, that sounds like a bad thing".

I disagree. It plays on same cords as "your business is none of our business".
You don't have to rely on any third party for your anonymity. Its the reason there is a demand for this technology in the first place.

Right. I understand the reference to trustlessness, but the word/phrase itself is toxic.

Think zerointegrity
zerovalue
zeroethics
zerotrust

Very difference from "your business is none of our business" which is edgy but unambiguous.

Ask any stranger if they want to buy something called zerotrust. It doesn't even need a focus group. It loses among new people to almost any other name except maybe crookedcoin or letsdrinksomedraincleaner coin.

ZeroCoin, ZeroCash, ZeroTrust

It falls into the same mold. Its catchy. People come here for privacy, the demographic we are catering to wont have a problem with it. It clears up a lot of confusion and it might just be the slogan we need to carry us through the next wave of shitcoins.

Well, I am a complete noob and Anoncoin follower.

I believe that since you people would be launching Zerocoin shortly, the renaming of your coin can have long lasting positive correlation if done correctly. You have this one chance only while launching it, and as such MERITS due consideration.

may I suggest "MAXTRUST : MCX"

CONSIDER THE RAMIFICATINS:

It extrapolates your anonymity philosophy standpoint while simultaneously resolving the "ZERO TRUST = MAXIMUM ANONIMITY" confusion for  the larger general populace (noobs like me).

A name like this will have a very long shelf life. whatever  changes you will incorporate to strengthen anonymity in the future, the name will remain relevant: both to you techies and us noobs.

It does away with the cliché "COIN". What with bucket loads of coins coming and going daily, THIS NAME COULD CREATE A LONG TERM POSITIVE DIFFERENTIATOR. moreover, "coins" always are smaller brothers/sisters of their respective currencies (dollars versus cents etc). From a marketing point of view, this (or such names) would do away with such preconceived but well established connotations.

"MAXTRUST" will create same or similar positive connotations across different geographies and cultures across the globe, and with some help and luck, should acquire mind space and stick .

The acronym could be MXT - M for MAXIMUM, X FOR ANONIMITY and T for TRUST.

Question for you. Your coin is named "ANONCOIN" what anon do you provide? Just wondering.

And as a followup question when you launched "ANONCOIN" did you have working "anon" solution at launch?

"Anoncoin (trading symbol ANC) is a digital cryptocurrency that focuses on privacy and anonymity for its users. Created in June 2013, it is the only coin that provides built in support for both the I2P darknet and Tor that makes it impossible to determine the IP address of the user. Anoncoin will soon be implementing Zerocoin, which will allow users to make transactions that can not be linked in the block chain. With I2P and Zerocoin, Anoncoin will be the first truly anonymous cryptocurrency."

https://wiki.anoncoin.net/Anoncoin

So you are saying that when you launched this anon coin it had fully functioning anon? Is this centralized or decentralized?
I2P is decentralized. Why don't we continue this discussion on the other thread? Smiley

I must reverse myself here and agree, after testing 'ZeroTrust' out on a few friends.... the first impression is that it is not trustworthy.  We do have to aim at those without knowledge first and foremost.  But for me, who knows what it means.... it sounded great at first.

Sounded great to me to, but we associate it directly with zerocoin. GF looked at me with the "are you stupid" look when I tested it on her. Anyways, I think the name zerocoin itself is very misleading to everyone not involved in the cryptoscene.
