One question ...my node is synched. Now, if I download Bitcoin Core Wallet from the official repo and install it (of course point it to the correct directory), will it just read the status of the blockchain from there, or will it try to sync again...what I definitely don't want to happen ?!

You need to point the core wallet to /media/nvme/Bitcoin and shutdown the node before you start the wallet. The core wallet launches its own bitcoind and two cant be running at the same time.
So I presume this means it is running bitcoin core without a wallet and adding a wallet could be easier to just remove the -disablewallet (or the bitcoin.conf setting disablewallet=1)?
Or is it running bitcoin core with wallet code compiled out of it?
(Yes running a wallet on it does also have it's own issues ...)

I will also add that a miner and or node that automatically updates it's code from the internet, is a major security issue waiting to happen.

I'd imagine there's a notification to update, I doubt it would update automatically in the background. If it does I agree, self updates can be a security risk

mine has an update notice which i have left  alone for two days.

Curious, you got the first deliveries yeah? I assume you're running an earlier version of software. What version number is listed in the top right? Mine is v0.3.0

i will check it in a bit.

I am v0.3.0 the update was for firefox not the os

Bought two standard units.  I'm a linux amateur, probably should have bought a full unit.  Have been able to configure start_apollo.sh file and get one miner running.  Connected to a hackintosh running ubuntu.  I cannot figure out how to get second miner running.

./miner_start_all.sh returns "line 8: screen: command not found" two times, then says "Started."  Yet I can't see the worker in the pool, and red light stays solid.  How do I get the second miner running?  How do I open a second instance?

Appreciate any advice, but please talk slow for the dummy.

Also, was hoping to run each miner via its own rpi, but cannot find a way to run a stable 64-bit os on the rpis to install the 64-bit apollo software.  Is 32-bit coming?  Any suggestions for running these via rpi?  Appreciate the help.  Learning as I go but I have to start somewhere.

Thanks.

Just curious before I receive my batch 1 order - has anyone received the combo controller + standard units that actually work with no problems?

Hello everyone!
So I received my full package.
Here are the issues I have :
- The led mining in front of the miner is not working ( badly soldered ) but Thats not really an issue.
- The dashboard doesn’t show the informations says internal error fetching stats.
To see the stats you need to connect the unit on a screen And connect on the armbian  system.

Tips for those who wants to point it on mining rig rentals in the stratum information put the rig port instead of the standard port it seems to work. But i get a rental And the mining software seems to crash…

Received today all setup but the dashboard shows the miner is inactive with no stats/ power info etc but it is mining successfully as it shows on my pool with hashrate any ideas please?

I've got I think the same issue - with the unit connected directly to a monitor I can see the stats fully on the screen. However if I use another PC and connect over the network, then the dashboard loads and sends commands fine, but displays no metrics and looks as if it is inactive.

This is a known issue, trying to pinpoint what’s causing it since I can’t reproduce on my end. Shoot us an email if your having this issue so you can send us some logs. Could be pool specific that’s returning some weird data and breaking out json parser for front end.

I'm another one who needs the image to continue now, cannot access the unit once again. As soon as the image is finally released and I can access the unit once reflashed, I'll see if the issue still remains and send the logs over etc if it's there.

I have the same issue as I've posted above but I've not once tried to plug the unit in to a monitor and check; I've only used the web GUI. I've tried three pools too, ViaBTC, slush and NiceHash, all produce the same error

I've sent an email to you guys detailing this too, hopefully some logs can get to the bottom of this fairly easily Smiley

Where can I get an image to re-flash my sd card? I already forgot the password I set-up for my miner Sad I clicked on the link on the first page of this thread but it just took me to a post that mentioned an updated image will be posted soon, but there was no download link to the current image file. Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Thanks!
Thats my next move also due to all the blinking yellow lights on the board and I cant access it any longer either. I was trying the WiFi option, might have entered the wrong password for the router. It does not show up as a connected device.

the reading for storage is

374:filled
457:total

gives 83 : left

so 81/5.8 = 14.3 months..  edit math typo. 83/5.8 = 14.3 months
and 81/6.4= 12.9 months  edit math typo. 83/6.4 = 12.9 months
which is too short.

The ltc/doge model  done by same builder was long lasting I had one for more than 3 years and sold it. It still works

this should be a 3-5 year life model with out insane speed modes. maybe 6-7 years

and will need a new ssd in 12.9-14.3 months.

waiting on parts to clone the drive.

they are due on Thursday

this ssd

this cloner

I will give away 2 cloned  1tb ssd's assuming  I can clone easy peasy

please ignore for now

and show proof of purchase if and only if you win.

I think I'd gladly pay you for the drive and a cloning fee if you'd be willing?

Not looking to take away business from jstefanop.  First cloning unit arrived used not new and did not work.  Second unit from a different company is due Sunday.

Depending on how easy this is to do I may get 10 1tb sticks the same crucial model and do ten of them. as a stop gap . until the model comes with 1tb stick option.

I am looking for a good price on the sticks.

jstefanop has made me 10's of thousands of dollars due to his mainlander usb sticks his ltc Apollo and his free power tweak on the l3+ ltc miners.

I want this btc version to succeed I want 1000s of new nodes running to support btc.

I see the unit as well built and in need of 1 tweak the rubber feet could be higher. My video in my review shows the taller feet I put on.

kano has calculated that the current ssd will fill in well under 2 years.

Maybe 11.9 maybe 12.8 or 14.6 months so getting a larger ssd  in months 7 or 8  work maybe they are cheaper.

I have not found the sticks at 100 they used to be as low as 95 on sale. So rushing to setup a cottage mod is not needed . However understanding how easy it is to do and what cloner to use is also easy enough.

remember the builder may simply find a deal on sticks and do the upgrade to 1tb.

this cloner came used not new

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08LPDTZGQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?

and it was broken cost was 150

this is next cloner to be tested

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B085T9MR9V/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?

cost is also 149

after that prices go way way way up
this is commercial and $1499

https://www.amazon.com/EZ-DUPE-SOHO-Touch-Duplicator/dp/B08PPXQX95/ref=sr_1_9?

all of these will need cooling fans as these sticks will get very hot doing a 400gb clone.

You are right. I have time to wait and possibly jstefanop will have an upgrade available by then

Everything displays on the raw stats OK

I have no red light flashing on the front either though

And forgive the ignorance as I am a PC newbie but appear to have a loose wire?

Isn't this M.2 standard, fully compatible with PCs? Why buying a cloning device? "dd" command in Linux does this. Just plug the drive first to a free M.2 slot in your PC. Then you can clone it 1:1 to a file, another drive, file over the network, or even compress to archive on the fly. Same with flashing it back, just use single line dd command in Linux.
