Yikes. Was about to purchase one but I can't justify the 67 dollars shipped to the US. But definitely look like nice cases

fluffypony,

How long does it take for an order to go from "pre-fabrication" to shipped?

any idea?

I answered that earlier: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.3933648

We're still busy prototyping with a bunch of different HDD trays, so we haven't settled on a final one:) Once we've found one that fits in with the design ethos we'll put it up as an add-on and you'll be able to get it.

Good deal! Im waiting on my risers from china and moooaar radeons coming from Tennessee. Im getting my milk crate on till then so i cant wait to get out of fab!

Cheers!

Hey all - OpenRigs.com provides flat-packed aluminium frames for GPU altcoin miners, and we'd love you to take a look at our product offering.

For the FPGA and ASIC Bitcoin miners out there, we'd love to hear what your requirements are for frames. What equipment are you using that you'd like to house in an OpenRigs frame?

Engage us, and if you suggest something that we can put together and sell (and is in demand;) we'll send you a frame to beta test for us at no charge!

Any questions? Hit me up here or at [email protected]

Nice rig frames, I just wished you posted this up a few months ago. I already built 3 rigs, and I would have got some frame from you. But no need any more.

Indeed, but there's a guy in the "pictures of your mining rig" thread that operates a rig with these cables.

Anyway, your OpenRigs look very pro, so I'm thinking I'll order a couple tomorrow Smiley They in stock, or do you build as orders come in?

We build as they come in - there's more info on our timelines and process in the delivery and returns policy linked at the bottom of the site:)

Could you show where you would be able to mount a hard drive?

Also how about a design where the cards are all vertical?  There are USB risers that make this possible.

Thanks.

USB risers for graphics cards, sounds too good to be true?! Links?

That is the weirdest product I've ever seen...lol. I'll order some and see if it works before committing to a design that utilises it.

We're looking at HDD brackets, got some coming in, but as it stands it's more for users that run their installs off USB flash drives.

Has anyone actually received one yet? Thinking about ordering one since spotswood is out of commission.

Danny

I doubt it - we've literally just shipped the first 450 orders out, there's no way any of them would've arrived yet:)

Hey fluffy pony, will you custom fab something to house and support a V2 blade rig for us outdated miners who still own a bunch of ASICminer V2 blades and backplanes. The only thing available to us is a cheapo flimsy frame with butterfly tabs on it that i still wouldnt trust if a fly farted in the wind in egypt. i would be afraid of it falling apart.

I'm busy prototyping something at the moment - still needs a bit of work before it's production ready, but I'm getting there:)

fluffypony,

How long does it take for an order to go from "pre-fabrication" to shipped?

Normally quite quick, but this close to the end of the year it takes a little longer for raws to come in. We've got a big load of raw material arriving tomorrow, so there will be a lot of orders moving to fabrication, and even more getting shipped out...busy times:)

Its working now.

What does the 4 gpu standalone look like? Is it exactly like the 8 gpu unit just with 4 gpus? or are the holes drilled to space them out more?

Also where does the hdd/ssd or are you expecting customers to run a USB memstick on one of the usb ports?

I plan to run windows for (under)voltage support, so will have to use hdd..

It's shorter - spacing between GPUs is the same. Dimensions from the product page:

Assembled Dimensions:
  4 GPU: 70cm wide x 35cm long x 50cm high
  6 GPU: 90cm wide x 35cm long x 50cm high
  8 GPU: 110cm wide x 35cm long x 50cm high

We're busy designing a hard drive tray, waiting for various trays to arrive from one of our suppliers in China. Based on that we will add it as an option. At the moment most of our clients are using USB memory sticks (or letting the drive balance precariously on a corner:-P)

That is the weirdest product I've ever seen...lol. I'll order some and see if it works before committing to a design that utilises it.

Yeah, I saw those on AliExpress, too... very strange looking product and I don't trust the design of it very much.

I'm about to place an order for 100 16x to 16x risers because I'm sick of running out and having to buy one for $20 lol

Why wouldn't you trust it? A picture is a thousand words. BTW don't ask me about anything about this rig. I won't answer them. It's not my picture. Search the forums for the owner.

Wow.  That looks really good!  Very interesting...

As to why I didn't trust it initially, I have seen some pretty strange/shady shit on Alibaba while searching for products.

They don't actually use the usb ports on the motherboard. they just use usb cable for data transmission
