There is a big possibility that they are still operating in the Philippines. I think no matter how great the casinos operating in any country are, if they commit criminal acts and violate the law in that country, of course closing the gambling place is the best solution to take.

If you look at the news above, the behavior of the gambling parties is beyond the limits of humanity, I think it is very natural for the gambling to be closed, if necessary, the person responsible for the gambling will be punished if they are proven to have done what is in the news.

Hahaha, funny to say but it is what is happening, they just following the lead to get the fall guy and nothing to follow up they just need to have that report and close the case if possible they will just try to make an statement that they are still following the leads but in reality they just seeking those front side but not digging deeper to catch the mastermind and those big bosses behind the business.

Crazy thing, instead of quitely working with the possile leads they broadcast everything and relate things into politics, much better to do thins for the benefits of the people and not just the benefits of the current leadership.

That is our question to our government because so far they are too late to react with a case and will gives fast reaction when public make it viral. But many times they are not ready to solve the case and make a mistake by arrest a wrong guy or some people because what they do will be in public eyes and public wil critize the government if they can not better.

Public will search for more information and they can easily get it with fast, accurate, without takes too long than the government and share into public. While the government looks too slowly in terms of investigating and solve the case. That is why public not fully trust their government to solve many big chase although public shares many evidence to the government.

The government decision will be look too fast without trying to investigate all things that public show to them. Public will search for more investigate and know if the government sacrifice small people without taking the big people who is behind on that case. Yes, your picture happen in many countries but public can not do many things except still trying to ask for justice from the government. Surely there'll be reconsideration, and these are temporary decisions to withstand the present political vibe of the nation. Gambling being legal in the country, surely this will make a comeback.

It's a billion dollar business, so yeah, it's very lucrative that's why the legal ones have been running in the Philippines for years or at least from what I understand since the pandemic as it could be a big source of tax from the government.

However, it turns out that there are more illegal POGO hubs that is well equipped and hidden from the eyes of the public as they have been put in province and places are well secured. And with that, there are many politicians that might have protected it and earn a lot of money. But the good thing is that the Philippine government is going to shut it down for good.

This reminds me of using a sledgehammer to crack a peanut shell - they blame lots of other illegal activity on these gaming operations and instead of actually policing those things they take down these so-called "POGOs" instead. It actually seems like a pretty lucrative industry really, if they stepped in and enforced the existing laws rather than completely shutting everything down. This is a rather poor country and such services can provide very legitimate support functions to the industry, so they're losing a rather helpful source of revenue - it is rather short sighted, but maybe a politician decided to get some good publicity for themselves by targeting a sector that struggles to defend themselves in the media.

For now they are, but once they lack the money to sustain the economy and POGO cools down, these gambling hubs will be back again; gambling is legal in the Philippines, and if there's a new administration that needs more funds to the government coffer, they will let these gambling hubs reopen. These gambling hubs have been operating for many years, and they have built jobs and businesses around the hub, The next administration will re consider once they see huge money and jobs generated. You cannot just kill the duck that lays the golden egg.

Yeah, they're giving the sacrificial lambs but no person behind these operations have been arrested. This becomes a drama antology and sarsuela in our terms because no one high is arrested. It's always those small fish that they're showing to the public as their front runner. And that's why I hope that the bigger fish are going to be caught on this but who knows if they have already fled outside the country and trying to pass and do some cool down for this incident to be forgotten.

This specific gaming business is giving good money to the country and because of some people who were mismanaging this kind of business owed to other illegal activities, this business is now branded as illegal and full of scammers. This is actually a very sad day not only to the foreigners who are working there but Filipinos themselves who are directly benefiting from this business. For sure, there are local workers who are employed in this business. Just the customer reps or utility workers alone will be hit hard by such mandate. If only the owners are only doing the POGO business alone without illegal activities such as prostitution or online scamming, this business will still continue its operations. Everything which is considered illegal is really just that right that it should really be cracked down and this is one of the primary responsibility on which the government should really be doing into its citizens on which it is really just that that there are situation or conditions that these fellas are really that being blinded with money on which instead on stopping them, they are rather the ones who do protect them behind and thats why its not really shocking that there would really still those illegal things that been hiding in the shadows yet they do know that they cant be easily be caught out because something protecting their back and this is why its not really that a new thing anymore because thats how reality works. People do get blinded with big money then you could be able to expect these kind of bypasses.

Exactly, not just the gambling itself but the hidden activities inside this business, the government are really seeking for more places where pogos are still being facilatated, though there are some that still exist since there are government offices which still involve to this illegal activites, they are hidding it and they are gaining huge amount to protect this business.

Though we do see efforts from the task force who really working hard to take down this business it's their hard work that being fulfill and giving the people the services that they've deserves.

Yeah because when the case hasn't gone viral, they can do anything they like, hence there were many unfair decision made by the officials. Although right now there are still few unfair decision. Unfortunately there's no international idealist organization that has a job to audit each country, if it was exist, the chance of this thing to happen would be very very low.

I've seen this movie in Netflix and I can say its a good one, I think the movie was a true to life story, so that makes it more interesting and probably its connected to the same syndicate but of course with different names since that wasn't shoot in the Philippines, but I can't remember anymore where exactly as that was a year ago when it was release.

To anyone who has no Idea what this POGO is all about and why it was shut down. Well, simply because they have a lot of issues that are all illegal. It has been a very hot topic here in PH and there has been a continued senate hearing and investigations on this company. Not because they are illegally operating with the typical gambling activities, but because they have hidden agendas like a serious case of human trafficking and drug related syndicate. I'm not really following closely on this issues, but I hope the government will crack it down.
