This is a good thread, but from what I see, these online casinos just put this information there for the sake of formality.

They know that there are regulatory bodies that visit their website, and these are some of the things they would look out for. Also, they know that people would likely put out reviews for their site and would appraise them either positively or negatively if these write-ups or information were missing. And lastly, it seems like the moralistic thing to do.

This is absolutely right that casino do not care about the gamblers and the most important thing for the casino is to gain their own money. They treat it as a business and the priority for them is to make money 💰💸💸

You all may be right but nevertheless some casinos take it as serious as anything, they don't admit any funny display that could birth in shady acts from gamblers, so they expect everyone to corporate with their system and avoid causing glitches to their network, as a matter of fact, several attempts from the gamblers or any other external constraints constitute to the level of damage a casino may experience with it system when an attacked is attempted by them, this could cost them as well before detection and other innocent gamblers may be affected alongside, part of these are the reasons we see them blocking some user's account by placing restrictions on them when they were being suspected.

they've created a section of their website with guidelines for responsible gambling. So, even if the house always wins, which is good for their business, it is your responsibility to bet responsibly.

Gamblers needed to understand the means or wats by which they could responsibly gambles without any suspicious activity from them, the casinos already had a security system they have developed to monitor this aspect and they will always be alerted whenever there's an attempt for a bridge in protocols from a gambler.
After all, the casino will certainly anticipate if someone wants to abuse or cheat when they play gambling. Casinos provide these guidelines for all gamblers before they start playing gambling and casinos expect gamblers to read the rule and understand it. But unfortunately, not many gamblers want to read or even read the rules at the casino, so some people have problems because they have been considered to have violated casino rules. And it's true, as long as we gamble, we must be responsible for our bets and not take too big risks or even use all the money to gamble.

- Treat your betting and gaming as a form of entertainment and only use money that you have set aside for your entertainment.
- Do not bet or wager amounts larger than you are comfortable with.
- Do not bet or wager with money you cannot afford to lose.
- Do not chase your losses.
- Do not let your betting and/or gaming take up time that you would usually spend on other activities.

Does the gamblers care about this? Seriously?

I also gamble at some times, but I didn't read any of the advices the casino has been given to the gamblers. Well, it's a good thing that they are still telling us to be a responsible gamblers though. The problem is that, gamblers aren't reading this most of the time and if they read this, they will not follow it and they will just gamble at their own will until they lose all of their money.

I believe that there are still out there who are like me where they can control themselves whenever they are gambling, but please for the other gamblers out there, be a responsible one. Reading these guidelines can still be helpful, but if you don't have attitudes or traits that will help you be a responsible gambler then it's useless. Traits like self-control and discipline are the most important ones that a gambler must have.

No. Gamblers who have gambled plenty of times before will most likely disregard all warnings. In fact, anyone who is gambling will probably disregard them since it's coming from the casino itself.  The way it's written is almost with no empathy either. "Do not" do this and "Do not" do that. Not "Please be mindful that gambling can cause you to...". Not only very unprofessional but just another reason people will just skip over and not read it. It's not even worth reading based on how they have written it.

I agree with it, a casino would rather have a regular customer that plays responsible and can control himself than someone who loses everything in a single night. First of all casinos are normal businesses who have been around a long time and want to be so in the future. If there were only angry customers who lost all their money than casinos would be empty quickly. Imagine hearing a story from a friend who lost big at a casino and is struggling now. Would you ever go and play there? I don't think so, it's the worst form of advertising. Also the number of stories in the newspapers would be rising about people who lost it all. Eventually the politicians would need to react and close down the casinos. I am sure the casino prefers to make steady long term profits instead of one large profit and no business afterwards.

I don't believe online casinos enjoy seeing a gambler lose money. I'd like to believe that they only want responsible gamblers to patronize them.

The gamblers as well never wanted to experience loosing for any reason when they gamble but things may not just work out as expected with gambling since it's something that works with prediction, but the gambler and the casino both make a good benefits and advantage in it together.

they've created a section of their website with guidelines for responsible gambling. So, even if the house always wins, which is good for their business, it is your responsibility to bet responsibly.

Another one is those people that borrow money to gamble. They are not responsible as they can't even gamble with what they have and want to do more with others' money as a result of their addiction and losing self-control.
It is highly not recommended to borrow money just to gamble because the risks will get bigger. We will never know when we can win but defeat, there are things we can get for sure. Instead of taking too big a risk by using borrowed money, it's better to use the borrowed money for other things.

In this case, we cannot blame the casinos for what happened to us because of our lack of self-control in gambling. The casino will argue that those who gamble have lost self-control even though the casino has informed them that everyone must be properly responsible while gambling and must treat gambling as entertainment.
The casinos have always been reminding and giving the option for each gambler to continue or not. We're all free to do and continue gambling if we want to and they've done their part of reminding everyone.
If so, we should be able to take care of ourselves by not playing gambling for too long and always controlling our money so we don't run out at the gambling table. Thus, we have tried to be responsible for what we do with our money at the gambling table.

I thought differently. Casinos would love to see people lossing their money, because that means a good profit for them. Well, no matter how many times a user wins, if he's not gonna stop betting while he still has the winning money, he'll end up lossing eventually.
The only responsibility that an online gambling is more concern of, is keeping their reputation clean by being fair all the time.
I slightly disagree with your statement.
casinos are gambling companies that want their companies to make profits but at least the gambling companies also don't want people to be too crazy to give those profits out of control. Other companies apart from gambling also want profits, such as tobacco companies that want profit income from the business they are running but also don't want everyone to get sick from smoking. so the company gives a warning smoking is not good.

so it's the same as a gambling company that wants to get income from the business that has been established but also doesn't want its customers to be irresponsible in betting and lose all the money they have.

Not actually because we don't know the owners and for most provably they are not running a business to take care someones welfare. Businessman always think about their profit so they spend a lot of money on marketing to convince people to play on their casino so for that they are aiming for their own gain that's why house always have the advantage because this is made for their own profit. Those warnings written is all about compliance they want to became a user friendly platform since it can give good impression to the people who read about those text written.

I don't believe online casinos enjoy seeing a gambler lose money. I'd like to believe that they only want responsible gamblers to patronize them. They believe they have a moral obligation to present some suggestions for responsible gambling to the general population. It is also logical to believe that if they could assess visitors for gambling addiction, those who failed the test would be banned from signing up. Because they can't, they've created a section of their website with guidelines for responsible gambling. So, even if the house always wins, which is good for their business, it is your responsibility to bet responsibly.
During a pandemic, one of the businesses that made the most profit was a business that provided everything for funerals, but I'm sure they weren't happy about the deaths of many people at that time although the business will benefit greatly because of it, so I agree that gambling sites don't like losing gamblers, even though they are benefit from it but seeing responsible gamblers will be more like it because they will also avoid accusations of cheating because irresponsible gamblers sometimes they feel cheated for a loss.

Any thoughts?
Indeed, many say just to do gambling because it's just for fun, but it's not easy, especially if players always think about being able to profit, so pleasure will only be obtained even if we lose, if we use the money we can afford to lose.

the reminder is there as part of their compliance to their license. even if they want their players to lose, still they are required to put those statements regarding gambling responsibly stuffs. that's part of getting their license. just the regular reminder from the authorities towards gambling activities. so whether the gambler abide such reminder or not, it doesn't matter to the casino. because at the end of the day, it is yourself who is in control of your gambling activities. the casino won't stop you from playing.
The same applies with self exclusion, they're offering this feature in order to complete the regulation and license, there's no solid statement too about how long the account will be locked, I've remember someone can open his account after 1 week, but another one need 1 year and it's from the same casino.

The casino have no way to know how much is the money you can afford to lose and your monthly paycheck, except they've asked you to complete KYC verification. If the casino is care with the gambler, they need to lock the account when the gambler exceed average lose in some period of time.

Example:
1 day: -$1,000
1 week: -$5,000
1 month: -$200,000

In this case, we cannot blame the casinos for what happened to us because of our lack of self-control in gambling. The casinos have always been reminding and giving the option for each gambler to continue or not. We're all free to do and continue gambling if we want to and they've done their part of reminding everyone.

it is also part of their terms and condition and permission to operate , but again it is always in our hands how do we control our selves even if they are not reminding us it is still in our self to blame if we got addicted that is why we need to control in terms of gambling. Reminding those gamblers are very essential also as it can trigger our mind about the bad aspects or outcome of gambling and made our self think twice unlike without this we do it without hesitation

The following are some of the responsible gambling guidelines I found on Livecasino.io, Duelbits, TrustDice, and others. They all have the same idea.

Quote
- Treat your betting and gaming as a form of entertainment and only use money that you have set aside for your entertainment.
- Do not bet or wager amounts larger than you are comfortable with.
- Do not bet or wager with money you cannot afford to lose.
- Do not chase your losses.
- Do not let your betting and/or gaming take up time that you would usually spend on other activities.

In my opinion, a gambler who is surpassing leisure in any way will completely skip over these words and continue to violate them. Providing these services and putting these words here is ironic at best. I guess it's better to have them than to not for the sake of their business than to not though.

That is a recommendation from the casino for people before they register at the casino. Still, I don't think that those people will take the time to read but will register immediately so they can immediately deposit their money and play gambling games. Casinos provide advice like that because they have a responsibility to gamblers even though it will return to each gambler. If a gambler can be wise in gambling, he will not spend too much money, let alone use money that exceeds the limit. He will manage his money to gamble and will stop when he feels he has had enough gambling.
IMO, it's not necessary to read because if you are a responsible person, you already know the risk of gambling, and of course the possibility of what will happen to you if you will not gamble responsibly. A good example of irresponsible gamblers is those gamblers who are having big debts because they can't control their addiction, and eventually, they'll become homeless.
But we know that many people can't be responsible when they play gambling and don't read the TOS or even the casino's advice, making them use a lot of money and experience big losses. For gamblers who already know that, they can skip it and not read it but if they also can't be responsible with themselves and their money, it won't be of any use either.

In this case, we cannot blame the casinos for what happened to us because of our lack of self-control in gambling. The casino will argue that those who gamble have lost self-control even though the casino has informed them that everyone must be properly responsible while gambling and must treat gambling as entertainment.

I think that if all casinos had that, it would be ideal, a protection system to prevent players from becoming addicted.

Self-exclusion, like the service offered in Stake. It's a program to help that involved user to stay away from the site.

Ironically enough, self-exclusion programs only work if the gambler acknowledges there is a problem or something bad going on with their gambling habits, which at the same time requires a minimum of self-awareness.

Casinos cannot assume whether their gamblers are responsible or not, because it is not practical from their point of view and their business are not watching over the finances of grown up adults. It is also a question of will and freedom and not only responsibility.
