Ok. This thread has run it's direct course and served it's purpose.

This thread  either directly or indirectly
1. Caused a lot of heartaches for a serious number of cloners.
2. Put a huge amount of pressure on new releases to be innovative.
3. Placed pressure on IPO launches.
4. Upset a lot of people.

Thread lock in 24hrs, have your say while you can or start a new thread when this one is locked.

I will just clarify a few things.
1. No one was ever extorted for money or intended to be.
2. At no time was I aware or involved with any attack of hash.
3. I have always maintained through private messages that protest and awareness was the best form of education.

I think it's a good idea to put it to bed.  As far as I can tell it was entertaining (and possibly educational) but I"m not sure if much else was achieved.  If there is a list of stopped coins, that would be cool to put in at the end.

Oh no,

Don't lock the thread please.

It has been highly entertaining. And did serve a purpose. There were some that came here that wanted to take things a little toooo far tho.

So were any coins stopped? IF so, do you have a list?

I do not wish to say exactly what was achieved but it caused some players a lot of butthurt.

Didn't say it was over, just this thread.

This turned into a flame war and there is no real topic here anymore.
Can you sort this out somewhere else?

This was completely idiotic from the start OP is a shitcoin cloner himself and is aided by a team of idiotic extortionists. The only thing to be sorted out is were each member of Operation Shitcoin lands on the autism spectrum.

lunatic rampages on..

People still make profits from them Grin

True...but not many. Oddly like the lottery - or like drawing to the proverbial inside straight. "X won; why can't I?"

Sadly, that kind of folly has to be unlearned the hard way.

it speaks volumes no one is willing to lift a finger to stop it though

Why should they? Free Market, baby!

If people stop trading these shitcoins then these coins will die themselves.

You're absolutely right, and that would be my preferred solution. We may, albeit very slowly, be getting towards that happy ending. One thing I've noticed: the scammers have to be cleverer nowadays than they were in 2013.

Agreed! and most of the coins have already died without any buy support and getting unlisted from exchanges. But some people learnt the lesson hard way after losing money.

But, given my prior misunderstanding, I have to explicity say that the free market also allows for boycotts and other starve-the-rats-out measures so long as none of them entail initiation of force. So long as there isn't any thuggin' going on, the free market has zero restrictions against Operation S---coin Cleanout and other campaigns like it.

Heck, the free market imposes no barriers against one of the Good Guys setting up and running the altcoin answer to "Consumer Reports" or Underwriters' Laboratories.

It's the campaign that never ends
So many coins so in a sense you never need to worry about running out of targets for a while lol.

Right, but then again, there's nothing actually being done against the "targets".  I really think that anyone with half-a-brain realizes that the altcoin thing is as dead as a doornail at this point.  The only crytpo with any real value is the only crypto with any actual adoption and that one's name is in the url of this forum.

sed is right on point.  altcoins are the new sourge of the bitcoin world.  It would be cool if the "shitcoin cleanout" actually cleaned anything, but what I can I say, I'm not a miner so I don't have anything to contribute.

True enough when there are too many of them any collective action tends to not work well
It does make it easy to mine 50% of a coin for a while then kill it's difficulty before leaving the coin then it needs to reset downwards for the miners that remain lol.

Operation overdifficulty lol.

I thought the idea was that if you can get more than 50% of the hashrate you can fork the blockchain and do something like send all the coins to yourself or any other nonsensical move that basically makes the particular coin stoopid.

Wish the Cleanout and Clean Up a big success! Grin

Well if it isn't the "fuck the early adopters.. lets feed this coin to the multipools" douche dev. Tongue

The main problem is there are so many douche followers for each copy-past coins. The new coin creation is much faster, better let itself collapse than doing any cleanouts. If you want it dead, create a copy-paste coin daily. Grin

there are so many shitcoin...i even can't count them!

Probably some way to make it into a drinking game........

Buy a hot crapcoin, drink, buy another hot crapcoin, drink, buy another hot crapcoin, drink, rinse and repeat until you're barely coherent.

Then, on the next morning, look at the then-current value of the crapcoins you had bought the previous night while guzzling. Unless you're an unusual kind of cat, the state of your head and tummy the morning after will be a fitting backdrop to calculate the performance of your holdings.
