The percentage is wrong because we have seen some companies ICO, who has the ability to develop the project. The major difference between a scam project and best ICO is communication because it is mainly important for a good ICO project.

That's why I'm prefer join team that already exist at least over 1 year because if less than 1 year, I'm afraid that they are building fake followers and reputation that normally can't be achieve less than 1 year.
Overall it's back to ourself whenever we still want to join the ICO or not

I have my own way to look for good ICOs to participate in their bounty project. For example, I will have my eye on High Rated ICOs.
Like on ICO Bench, you'll easily find High Rated ICOs there. And from what I've seen, more than 50% of the ICOs published there have
low ratings. So if you're saying that 90% of ICOs are a scam, I guess it's not true. Because some of them has high ratings, good teams,
and good projects. But if you're talking about 90% of the low rated ICOs are a scam, I might agree with you. Most of Low Rated ICOs
are not recommended for us to take part in em.
Of course they are, a lot of them are trying to manipulate and use the crypto hype just for doing another scheme of HYIP program. There are a lot of investment program that is very similar to HYIP program. In this age and era, it is stupid if you still get fooled by those HYIP program. It is so obvious that they are SCAM and false. And it is very easy actually, to know which one is ponzi program. That is why I prefer to play something safe. Just buying or collect some Bitcoin and other crypto, save it into your wallet, and when the price go up, you will get profit. It is as simple as that. Or you can do trading if you want, and if you know the way.

indeed now it's a lot of ico so most likely I do not think like the above presentation. many ico lists are clear. and of course they guarantee with lots of evidence like teams etc.

Most of the ICO's are not a scam, some companies are doing their best to develop what they mentioned in the roadmap. Few people are stealing the money without any further developments and they won't even respond to questions asked after the ICO.

I agree with this one. I believe that some ICOs just end up not being able to push through because of lack of funds and end up returning the investment to its investors. I have seen some good ICOs and the developers are working hard but then only a few invested because they don't have that much exposure so they decided to just return the investors money. This is just one reality of it. There are ICOs that spend a lot of money in marketing so that they can attract more investors only to end up being abandoned and scammed. It is just hard to determine nowadays what ICO is scam and what is not that's why a thorough research is needed.
Probably one good way to see if a coin is a scam is by checking how much of the money to developers get is going to be used for marketing if the amount is low then there is a good chance that they may prefer for people to find about the project by how good it is, but if they invest a lot in marketing then there may be something wrong because it seems they want everyone to find out about the project despite the fact that they have nothing yet.

This is not a time to invest your hard earned coins.

Also I think GoNetwork / GOT is a scam.
Try joining their pre-sale and your payment status will be "paid" without the need to pay... Shocked

maybe yes but even not scam i can say that more than 90% of new ICOs are starting crowdsale just to earn money not to develop their project. their hardcaps are so high comparing with what they need for their project to run.

I think what Vitalik was talking about is more of the success rate than the intentions on which the ICOs were built upon. ICOs have truly changed so much in such a short time and no doubt here, they will still do so much more damage or disruption as the case may be.

The founder of ETHEREUM said that over 90% of ICOs are scams. By participating in an ICO, you give your money to a project that probably will never happen. Every day a new ICO comes out ... but what surprises me is that many people invest their savings in these very high risk projects. I think it is much better to invest in real projects already listed on the stock exchange .... of which you know everything well ... For example, BANKERA looks like an ICO scam .....
That is why investing in thrash coins should be just like 4/5 % of invested money and rest should be put in first 10 coins on market, cause only in that way we won't be able to lost lot of our money.
By means of diversify or having allocation into several coins or investment would really give us the chance on making up more profits or do give the back up once we lose up some investments along the way. ICO investments arent really always a guarantee and i do agree on the fact that most of them are just scams and only a few would able to stand up and develop even more in the future.

I don't think that the percentage of fraudulent projects is so big. I'm sure that there are many more good ICOs projects. Up to 40% of projects have excellent potential and achieve good results. But not all projects will live a long life afterwards ofc.

I strongly disagree with this. Yes there are some scams, but the vast majority of ICOs are genuine. If 90% were scams, then no-one would bother with any bounty work.
You're suggesting that almost every ICO is like Benebit - that's clearly not the case!

Not only bounty hunter will stop joining the project but the investor too because they will lose their money again.
As bounty hunter, if the project all scam then what will we get? Nothing so all people will be not here again

Prior to the advent of crypto currency, there were also many scammers, it's just that people need to learn how to choose projects that are safe to invest in. If a person does not investigate the project, he himself need to blame for wanting easy money and supporting the scam.
The problem is that many people still use cryptocurrencies the same way they would use their fiat, we know that once you send your money in crypto you cannot get it back there is not such a thing as a chargeback, yet people keep using the crypto as if something went wrong and they will still be able to get the money back and we know that is simply not true, so people need to learn to take responsibility by their actions.

ICOs are risky businesses even for developers. There's more to it than meets they eye. If we have deviated from what blockchain is and ventured into a dark pit of crowdfunding businesses alone. The world is in more trouble than could be anticipated.

Interesting he said that, since the platform he created is the one that originates more than 90% of these ICOs.
