We can't say %90 of ico are scam it is not true. They are not fake, they are just not built on a legit idea. Also, the 10% is legit worth pretty much.
These basically startups but getting crowdfunded through ICO. Make a good research about the ICO's team. You can understand it from there.
Totally agree. Some projects are not scammy, but most of them are exaggerated and can not be executed as white paper written. They are just too idealistic or too unrealistic, and full of uncertainty.

I agree with you. Undoubtedly, it is. Look at the number of ICOS held this year. It's absurd. The market cannot be filled with so many coins.

That is the main issue here with all these projects collecting huge amounts of money, the idea is not great and most of the projects are coming up just to collect the huge amount and just stall the later developments and so is the reason we are calling it a scam and that is the sole reason that the government is trying to implement strict regulations for ICOs.

The founder of ETHEREUM said that over 90% of ICOs are scams. By participating in an ICO, you give your money to a project that probably will never happen. Every day a new ICO comes out ... but what surprises me is that many people invest their savings in these very high risk projects. I think it is much better to invest in real projects already listed on the stock exchange .... of which you know everything well ... For example, BANKERA looks like an ICO scam .....

hi friend, may i give opinion?
I think yes, many ICOs are scam, but I do not know what percentage is.
but I think this will soon decrease, because soon there will be regulatory recommendations. according to the results of the G20 country meeting, one of the results of the discussion is the regulatory recommendations that will be out around July later. with this regulation, I think ICO scam will be minimized.

Some ICOs it looks like scam especially when they don't pay immediately with the bounty participants as Devs promise to them. Having such 90% scam of ICOs project today it definitely give worries and doubts of some investors in doing investment in here. Of course they loss money if they fall into ghost project.

saying particular field is scam will put more scams in place so it is better to be realistic and regulate the space with guidelines we can expect legal genuine icos

Not most of the ICOs are scam, but some of the project can fail naturally or can't be successful in ICO process. People can include all risks before investing.

I think 90% is too much, yes there are many scammy ICO's that have destroyed investors interest in ICO's. But we have to admit that not every ICO can be a super hit like filecoin or Tezo. Since the majority of ICO's are not regulated, there is risk involved in every ICO. Do proper research before you invest in any ICO by looking at its team, whitepaper, roadmaps etc.

Absolute truth. Most icos are scam today so you must lookout for the team and product Ico offers before investing. Some nice projects are Medichain,Eventum,Birdchain,Signals and Bethereum etc.

Yeah, I agree. I also think that eg Signals and Bethereum are pretty cool. They both have an alpha version of their application you can test, so no vaporware here, that's a good sign I'd say. I generally have more faith in projects that already have a product or at least some version of it.

Bethereum 50k on telegram  Grin Thats crazy....still it looks pretty solid  Smiley Everyone knows Signals, thats a legit great project

That is also a scam imho, because if you make an ICO based on shit idea than you know its a shit idea (in most cases) and you only did it to make money, not to create something valuable.

I agree that there's a lot of scam ico that we can see each day however it is very hard distinguish which is good or bad. As we always say do a research about it to ensure that our money is in good hands. But I do have some arguments about some saying that a project is a scam. Some will say that it is a scam if the value will not go up to desired token value, some will say that it is a scam if there's an issue or delay in launching of platform, and even some will say that it is a scam if the token will not be listed on top exchanges. By the end of the day,  this is hard earned money that we are talking that's why let's be mindful in investing to an ICO.

Good/bad is one thing. And depends on the criteria, but as far as scam goes I believe, that scam is if they just want to raise money (usually an unreasonable amount) and then they take off, or stop working on a project or simply made an ICO to make money, but have no intention of sticking with the project and making it work. Simply if the money is the only object ad the product is there just to bait you. And people should take more care to distinguish a scam from a simply a bad project. The difference between a scam and a bad ICO is pretty much the intention.

I think this statement is not correct maybe high percentage of ICO failed not scam. I think the truth is 90% of people speculate that the ICO's are scam. For example base on deterministic theory, we can determine if a volcano should be erupt but we cannot predict the exact time of the eruption. That means we know that some ICOs are not be getting successful but we take a risk of them because we cannot predict whether our speculation are false.

It is very bad truth in cryptoworld that some of icos are really frauds. I remember something called symmetryfund basicaly went off after getting thousands of Ethereum invested. There are even more tokens.
And the worst thing is that if those scammers actually put the effort to try to build something they could earn a lot more money than what they could earn with their scams and the best thing is that everything will be legitimate and they will not be afraid that someday the justice system is going to catch up to them and it is going to put them in jail for the rest of their lives.
