There is a new wallet concept - http://www.eliptibox.com/. First to talk about firewall on hardware and packed with features.
Can be interesting platform for developers.

...

I have both a Trezor and a Ledger Nano.  Both work just fine, I have not worked enough with them to intelligently say which is "better".  But, I like them both.

I do not require advanced features, so I may pass on downloading the new Trezor firmware.  I just want a secure and easy-to-use way to keep my Bitcoin in cold storage.

But dood! Customizable home screens with the new firmware.

Just got an email from BFL. Seems their hardware wallet is still a thing.
What? Really? I thought the whole company went tits up.

This is what I thought too.
I mean I have always been very anti BFL, but maybe since they've been in trouble with the Government maybe they got bought out and will deliver a good product.

They had good mining products, but delivered too late to be of much use. Their hardware wallet looks nice though, if they ever deliver.

Helpful enough to get a cool free coolwallet? Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

Please send an email to [email protected] and then we can discuss.

I was really unlucky! Congrats, friend! Anyway, he was kind enough to give me one for cheaper price. Smiley

I wouldn't say you are really unlucky unless they don't ship and you lose your money. Anyway, he offered me one for cheaper price too.

Thanks for the reply CoolBitX, that makes more sense. Also it says somewhere on the faq that the priv key can be saved to encrypted file or printed on paper yet in another place says the keys never leave the device. I guess it meant to say seed can be saved instead of private keys.

Yes you are right. We meant to say back up the seed. You have been really helpful!

I must say, I am more than happy with trezor. You can really see that they thought long and hard about every possible attack vector. There is no sloppiness.

Thought long and hard indeed. Over two years in the making. So far the most secure And easiest to use.

It's possible to pay with Bitcoin @ Indiegogo? That'd be great Grin

You may want to post in their thread:

How can I get into early access? I like to but I can only buy with Bitcoins. But now it isn't supported. So reserve me a spot. Smiley

We will reserve you a early access spot @ $59. Please send an email to [email protected] so we can put your email in the list.  Smiley

Has anyone ordered a CoolWallet @ Indiegogo yet?

I have.

You might want to review the text on your faq page and blog page for inconsistencies. One place says each of the 5 accounts can have almost unlimited priv/pub key pairs and another spot says only 232 key pairs per account. Wtf? If it truly is BIP32 hd wallet then account would have unlimited key pairs. There are other inconsistencies also but that one seemed extra weird. These kinds of things makes the project look scammy to me. Also if someone were to get your card and paired device could they not easily empty your wallet with the tap tap? Other than that, I think it's a cool wallet that I would use.

There are a few oddities but I'm guessing this is just a language barrier. Just because the wallet is BIP32 and can generate an infinite number of key pairs does not mean it can store them so it could still be BIP32. If coolbitx decides to answer this I'd also like to ask whether or not the private key can in anyway be retrieved from the CoolWallet or not (app, etc.)

The private keys can be retrieved by entering the seed into software/web HD wallet that support BIP32.
I think I may definitely have to get one of these cool babies as soon as they're released for deliveries as I am pretty much done with preordering anything anymore.
