Mayweather was enjoying his retirement when some of his sidekicks gave him the idea of earning another $250 million. I guess it was Dana White, who first came up with the idea of a rematch between Floyd and Conor. But Floyd thought that rather than fighting Conor, it may be easier to fight against Manny in a shortened match (6-round?).
How come Manny becomes an easier fight than Conor, Manny is a boxing veteran and Conor just debuted against Mayweather and will never fight again as he does not have the stamina to be a boxer  Cheesy.

But Manny was cunning and he told him that the fight would not go ahead as planned, unless he go for a full 12-match fight. So finally we have a rematch between Floyd and Manny and it is going to be a proper fight (not the 6-round rubbish that Floyd was pushing in the beginning).
Which fight are you talking about as i cannot see any news site reporting this rematch  Undecided. Mayweather is still retired and there is nothing official about the fight.

Some important words from the source your provided.

It is difficult to say whether a rematch with Pacquiao will actually take place, but Mayweather has always been fascinated with money. If he is offered another large some of cash, a Mayweather vs Pacquiao rematch could become a reality.

So this means we need some promoter who are willing to pay Mayweather with a huge sum of money that he cannot refuse just for this fight to take place.

Both of them is already aged, they are already rich, they are already famous, professionals and legendary. Would there be still any reason to fight again? Would it be good if they just enjoy their best shot relaxing and enjoying their days for retirement? I think both of the boxers will have good future in gambling, they have lots of money to bet and to win as well. But when these 2 boxers continued, let us bet on the boxer who we think is better than one another.
Age is not an issue with this 2 great fighters. Both of them still have a few rounds left in them. Just look at Floyds last exhibition fight, he made a fool out of that kid who dared to step inside the ring with him. Look at Thurman, his mouth is not as fast like the fists of Manny. Both can still fill in an arena.

If they will think of themselves, they would think that there is no reason to fight again.
However if they will think of what the fans like, they would fight because they know how the fans badly like to see a rematch since the first fight although Mayweather won by UD, Manny had an excuse that he was injured fighting Mayweather so if they will allow, they have to do it again to see who's really the greatest between them.

I'm not saying Mayweather ain't fit,  what I'm trying to say is that you cannot compare the Mayweather who was was not as wealthy before the fight against Pacquiao to the current Mayweather,  keeping fit with basketball training is entirely different from keeping fit in boxing training

Is Floyd running out of money now so he changed his mind already and just decided to fight Manny again? Anyways, this is a interesting turn of events, we all have been waiting for this after many years and hope that this time, Floyd is going to give us boxing fans the fight that we all have been wanting to see, a rematch so let's see if this is true or not.

LOL.. Floyd running out of money? He has earned more than $1 billion till now. Not even legends such as Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield have earned anywhere near that amount. And perhaps that is also one of the reasons why he is very reluctant to commit to new fights. Dana White wanted a rematch between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor, and Floyd was very cold to that idea. And this is despite the fact that this fight would have earned him somewhere in excess of $200 million.

Well we don't know his lifestyle behind boxing, actually we did, he is so extravagant and buying expensive toys, like cars and jewelries, and we all know that this kind of lifestyle is not sustainable in the long run that's why I have a hunch that we wanted more money today and he can get it by fighting Manny Pacquiao.
if eventually there is a rematch between Pacquiao and Mayweather, Mayweather may become broke,  because I don't see him winning Pacquiao again,  Pacquiao beaten Adrien Broner and Keith Thurman this year alone,  he is still active in boxing unlike Mayweather

I'm sorry but you're totally wrong, Mayweather keeps himself fit by playing basketball and I'm sure fans will attest to that. So he is somewhat active, not doubt about that, it's just a question of his mentality to finally come out and decided to rematch Manny at this point that's why I question if he is broke now or not.

Well, that's good for him. If he's playing it safe then we can't blame him. Nobody wants to have their record broken. That's the thing he wants for his career. Anyway, he's a little bit aged just like Manny Pacquiao but sure is, he can take out young guys just like Pacquiao. But, let's say the quoted message of yours is true, then the most likely match we could see is Pacquiao and Errol Spence.
He plays now for the more money and not to risk his undefeated title. He's good and wise that's the attitude to create more buzz and value out from your name. If this rematch won't happen anymore, there are still lots of good fights to come from new boxing stars. Maybe the hype that being created for this rematch is not enough to attract fans and supporters. but still not closing the possibilities.

There's a video circulating the net about this two boxers where allegedly the fighters met in Tokyo Japan for a concert and Mayweather started thrash talking Pacquiao and you can hear on the video Mayweather saying he will come out of retirement this coming December 2018 to fight Pacquiao for the 2nd time. Mayweather comes out as an early favorite for this match.
at the time it was won by mayweather, but I guess that was just luck. Pacquiao fights better than Mayweather, it's just that the punch Pacquiao can read easily. mayweater is only good at exploiting situations and controlling the game. if only pacquiao attacks were more regular the results would have been different.

He keeps maintaining his shape because that's what athletes do and he has some exhibition fights which gives him a lot of money without risking his record. I think he is enjoying that way, and if he likes to answer the call of the fans to have a rematch between Manny, I think we will see it but it looks like there was no sign at all that it will happen.
But maybe this is not just fans request but already planned?no one knew what’s on the table because all we have is a news and updates coming from their camps but other than that?nothing

Obviously Mayweather is not anymore active in boxing because he retired last 2017 but he is still fit and he can still come back if he wants.
I think not because he was retired means he is not active in boxing, maybe cameras not rolling for him from time to time not like when he was still fighting on the ring but what I am sure is a Boxer like him who dedicates all his life in training will stop just like that, maybe he is practicing still though not that hard everytime he has a big fight

That's what I'm trying to say, even though he is retired in boxing, he is much active in basketball.

Not all athletes though, maybe the elite ones like Floyd. Hatton after his fight with Manny didn't stay fit at all.

I would not think like that because Mayweather retired in the past, came back and still with the same shape and even better as he was still winning fights which makes him unbeatable until now. Even if Mayweather is out in boxing for years already but this guy loves his passion and I think still training to be ready any time there's a big money that will invite him to get off retirement, and also his life is still pretty well involve in boxing as he is still promoting fights.
Mayweather last fight was against Conor McGregor,  we all know Conor was no way to win Mayweather,  it's just a fight to get both of them more richer,  Pacquiao won't be an easy opponent to Mayweather, Pacquiao ain't fighting only for the money,  but to boost his record and fighting for the belt
You have to remember that this is a rematch in case it will happen, and in their first fight, it was Mayweather who dominated Manny as he won via unanimous decision, and I don't see any changes of Manny since based on his last fights he has slowed down a bit but of course we cannot judge since we didn't see Mayweather fight.

This man is very rich already, probably the richest boxer now so he is likely not taking chances to put "1" in his record.
if they will fight and he loss, Mayweather has nothing to be proud of anymore like what he is yelling all the time because that possible 1 loss of him will make manny to the top again, and no debate with that.

Maybe you have the point but knowing Mayweather, he definitely isn't just sitting around and spend money. He should be having workouts to keep his body fit and he is a smart boxer, of course he is not an easy opponent for Pacquiao if the fight happens.
