Is this thread really a discussion for Pac vs Mayweather? Look at the recent posts. Huh

Maybe lock this thread for now and just open if ever there's finally a successful deal about the fight.

OP don't regret closing this thread. This is still the main thread once there's a 70% chance that Pac and Mayweather will fight.
You would really expect for these kind of thread to keep on going and it would really come to discussions in relate with other matters so it isnt a surprise though.
Why you are so sure to have that 70% chance of their fight to happen? I do only hear about their exhibition match but not actually the real fight.
Its still good to look at these discussions though excluding those repetitive replies.

Lol, they guy is just saying that if ever the chance of the fight happening to be 70% (just estimate) OP can unlock this thread as he wants this thread to be lock and we will discuss again it here. He is not saying there is a 70% chance of the fight happening.

Two days back, there was a statement from Dana White. He was saying that he is currently working to make Conor McGregor Vs Mayweather II a reality. In monetary terms, this is going to me much more rewarding for Floyd when compared to any potential rematch against Manny Pacquiao. Also, from his language, it looks like he is more interested in taking on McGregor rather than Pacquiao. In case White succeeds in persuading Floyd, then we can say goodbye to any rematch with Pacquiao.

The last time he fought against Conor McGregor, he earned more than $275 million (with McGregor earning another $100 million). On the other hand, Floyd received less than $250 million for his fight against Pacquiao, with gross revenues amounting to $600 million (for the fight against McGregor, the gross revenues amounted to more than $700 million).

If this could happen, this will be the worst fight that ever happen in boxing history. I mean, look at their first fight it does not even make Mayweather worry about lossing. McGregor cannot box and that's what makes it boring to see especially against Mayweather who is known to be the best tactician in the ring.

The intention is not to give the best fight to the public, but to squeeze the maximum amount of money from them. They'll benefit if there is some negative publicity and hype surrounding the fight. And for that purpose, I believe that McGregor (with his aggressive antics) suits much better when compared to the mild natured Pacquiao. And don't be so sure about Mayweather mopping the floor with McGregor. Floyd hasn't practised for more than two years now, and he'll be quite rusty if he decides to make a comeback. McGregor will be having enough chances to stage an upset.

Well for me, Pacquiao should retire since he was already in forties already and he could lose if someone younger than him can knock him out even mayweather himself had been already retired so, there's no point of continuing his boxing career and besides he's already a senator so, there's no problem where to get funds for his family.

But have you seen his performance against the much younger Keith Thurman? Did he get knock out? No, on the contrary he put everything in the line. As other sports personalities have said, "there's no way that a 40 year old man is going to kick your ass". But that's exactly happen in the fight. The supposedly old man was the one who knock down a young and his prime fighter and one of the best in that division.

And if the fight can happen again i don't think that pacquiao has a chance to beat mayweather now they are both in forties now and mayweather have still have advantage against pacquiao.
I agree, but for the sake of discussions, give Manny a fighting chance for a rematch. If that is so easy for Floyd then why is he stalling the fight?

For me, Pacquiao still wants to fight because he still has the ability, skills, and strength. Yes, compared to his previous matches in the past five years, you can surely tell that Pacquiao is getting old and need to rest. But I bet Pacquiao still want to make his last fight very unforgettable to most of the fan and ppl that love boxing and also for him. If his wish that his last/retiring fight is on Mayweather so beat it if Mayweather fights. Smiley
We can always see that everytime he fight, he always think of the satisfaction of the fans because he understands that he owes his fame to the fans.
If this rematch will happen and Manny will lose, fans will still love him and still hate Mayweather, nothing's change except for their respective record.

it would be an epic fight especially if Mayweather will stop running for awhile, he needs to show that he can also be aggressive fighting an aggressive fighter, what way they will be able to give the fans a fight that is worth of their money.

I don't actually like this fight coming into reality although I have to admit that this is still being pushed by certain people. I don't expect Mayweather fights to be entertaining anymore. Manny Pacquiao, on the one hand, is getting old also. He is not anymore the fighter that looks for blood in his matches. But this fight is still getting hype from all over even if it is clearly only for the sake of money. Bob Arum has released a remark once again hinting the suggestion for this fight to happen.
More on testing the water if the fans are still going to push and hype this fight to happen. There's still news and some social media talks about making this into reality. If Bob Arum will take it seriously and begin to mediate, chances that both fighters will sit and talk about their positions and what would be
the best for both camps in order to settle.

Though without the interest from the supporters' side, this will not happen knowing that Mayweather always after for the big cash.

Regardless of how aware we are that this fight is just for the money, yet we cant deny the fact that there are still those people who wants to see a rematch just to satisfy their desire to put a stain on Mayweather's record, plus Pacman's redemption from that very controversial fight. These both fighter are aging, they might not meet the audiences' expectations, but both of them is a big name in the boxing  discussions. So, might as well it will be considered as an exciting match, not expecting something special from the action in the ring, but exciting in a way that everyone is watching out for Mayweather's first loss, or worse a knockout.

That might really be what the people subconsciously want, a Mayweather's loss. If that happens, I think the arena will be shaking with cheers rather than boos.

The Pacman has already redeemed himself from that loss although by way of winning other fights and not by a rematch. If this fight will happen, there will be no excitement, as you said. They are aging but Mayweather's running and evasion skills are not getting bad.

Before, I was really eager to watch the fight between this two great fighter. But now, I'm not interested anymore to watch neither to wait on their fight schedule if there is a closure agreement will happen, But I had a doubt on this. And besides they are both have good in life now, just like Paquiao, aside from that He has a a lot of big businesses which he built, He was also a public local officials now in the government as a Senator to his country.
Pacquiao is the one who really wants the fight to push through Mayweather is just answering, I have this feeling the fight will not push through if Pacquiao will be beaten by the winner in the Spence Porter fight, it will lack the attraction if Pacquiao loses, but if he wins that's a different story.

Errol Spence will win that fight, however, I would very much want to see Errol Spence fight Terrence Crawford. It might not be a fight for the casual fans but it is a fight to make for boxing fans. Similar to Khabib versus Tony Ferguson in MMA. There is only a small demand for it, however it is the fight to make because they are 2 of the best UFC lightweights.

This was the most stupid and nonsense fight of the century of the Rematch from Conor and Floyd because just like the first fight still this second will be nothing interesting in this but the amount of money they will both take

And if Dana succeed on this?then let’s lock this topic and move on guys, maybe we need to accept that until Floyd dies he will never fight again with Manny in real action

We all know that Pacquiao is a gutsy boxer and willing to sacrifice everything so I don't doubt that statement. Floyd seems to be the drama queen here, trying to be the diva because he knows that he is still the A-side in the rematch, exhibition doesn't count and we doesn't like to see that fight, boxing fans want's the real deal but I guess we don't know what is the reason for turning it down.

For sure a lot of money in the table, if he is "Money" Mayweather, then accept the fight and defeat Pacquiao, that's it.
This drama was all about money and we still need the answer of both of them to clarify the issue. Pacman will literally defeat him once the match begins, he learned now how things work when Mayweather is on the ring. They're just litting the fire to make it more attractive and it's just for a show, we already know who's gonna be the champion.

And at some point, It seems Manny was already affiliated with Mayweather when it comes to business so I think part 2 was impossible for now. After all of this issue, the game was already controlled by mafias so don't expect any interesting actions from this fight. I wanted another Mexican and Filipino fight, it's way better than seeing Mayweather on the ring that keeps running.

‘Exhibition? Make it a real fight,’ Manny Pacquiao tells Floyd Mayweather after ‘nonsense’ Tokyo claim.

Look at this recent news about the exhibition match of Pacquiao and Mayweather. The drama is getting hotter, lol.
You think guys, Mayweather is afraid to the real fight on rematch with Manny Pacquiao?
It seems that Manny Pacquiao denied this exhibition match.
We don't know it yet if Pacman said it because it seems like someone is twisting the story to make their headlines interesting. But i like how Pacman said it, like he really wants a real fight that he really want to beat Mayweather. I wonder if this exhibition fight will continue since Pacman doesn't want to have it.

Manny putting salt to the table and the feeling is like, ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh  Shocked

Manny wants a real fight, he's up to the money but he cares about his revenge for Floyd. But Floyd seems to care about the money and just want to take this exhibition as sort of part time job.

The most excited part is what will be the reply of Floyd.  Huh

That's his bread and butter, not to be hit that's why he really hasn't taken any damage throughout his career, but majority of the boxing fans doesn't like that at all.
It's because most of us want the classic action in boxing, punch there, straight hook, upper right, etc.

Yes, that's what I'm trying to say, boxing is an old school sports. Brutal but as humans, this is what we wanted to see. That's why we don't like the style of Floyd but it is very effective but honestly this also bring fans to watch his fight and that's why we are clamouring for a Pacquaio rematch but unfortunately he only wants a exhibition match so that he won't take damage and easily win millions of dollars again.
Yeah everyone doesn't like his strategy inside the ring but if someone managed to beat him out of that strategy for sure he won't be acting like that anymore today.
In other sports he seem to be a superstar, that's how he's treating himself right now because of the other boxers that wanted to chase him and have a fight again against him.
For the boxers that he do already beaten up then he wouldn't tend to have an easy rematch since he do know that hes much better than them
but as a boxing fan we do know on what a true win means.

His fighting style is somewhat clever but never been an appealing thing but still amazed that his still undefeated with that kind of cowardice style of fighting.  Grin
