don't be too patient if the coins we hold don't know what their purpose is or do not have good prospects for the future it would be a waste of time, I still have a lot of hold coin that I got from  bounty There are so many that have no price and when it has a price the prices have dropped considerably and are very cheap need accurate research if you want to hold a coin that we have

From my little  experience,  it's  always important  to do a little research on the coins that we hodl for the long term. Such is life, in everything  situation, there are always exceptions. Sometimes  we don't  get lucky with the coins that we buy and hodl on the long term. Generally,  patience  is good when you buy into a good coin. Never give up or sell your crypto  assets so easy.

Patience is everything but you have to take the perfect decision at perfect time and choose the right coin. I don't think anyone has been disappointed by investing in Bitcoin. You have to know most of the altcoin shitcoin has no power for growing they are totally relay on Bitcoin's price. Most of the new trader initially start their trading with altcoin and initially the earn more money but at the end they are getting victim of shitcoin dump.

DYOR is the main thing before taking a decision of hodling as every cryto projects won't give anyone good results. Like what OP said, sometimes anyone might get nothing instead of having more patience and this is for shit projects which don't have any type of fundamental use-case or realtime products. For an example, i was hodling a token which was active back in 2018-19 and now that's more than a shit one. Also, i'm still hodling another token from 2020 which has real products and now it's on almost 10x from the previous bottom which is great for me. TBH, DYOR is everything after all.

The main issue is that you might have hodl the wrong coins and took advice from the wrong people. Sometimes, the people who make you purchase some shit coins, might be their promoter or those who are looking for investors to dump on. I put completely faith in Bitcoin and I was not disappointed. For altcoins, purchase and invest only in few best ones.

That's why you just hodl BTC.
Patience part isn't technically about hodling your shitcoins in your hand, but rather than either trading them or selling them at their highest point contributing to dumps.
Almost every new altcoins aren't worth holding anymore because many would just dump it and there's nothing you could do about people that just wanted quick $$$.

It's simple arithmetic, don't hold new altcoins for long, they can fetch you good amount of money but sooner or later they will become shit coins, if you want to hold for a very long time hold the best coins, BTC, LTC, NEO, ETH, XMR

What? They are talking about bitcoin and ethereum like few altcoins which never meant that you should hold a shit coin when it is in red, those coins will simply goes to zero at the bear trend and it will never recover from there. Only very few altcoins managed to survive while 100s of them left with no value at the end of every cycle.

dead coins

Which implies that you are mostly holding shitcoins that are new or have very low market value on the day you bought them. Don't do that. You only have a slim chance of actually getting a decent diamond from a pile of those shitcoins. Actually, don't listen to your friends. Make your own judgement from now on and do your own proper research. Patience is still the key to this. Look at Bitcoin and all the other old coins.

I think it depends on market analysis and the project you invest in. lest you choose the wrong asset. especially if you have assets from participating in the bounty campaign. hold it for a long time and keep hoping the price will increase it will be very long. even as you say many are dead. but if you mean a project that has been on the market for a long time. I think if you came last year and you were just patient enough until this year and you have got the results.
to be honest for assets that are in the top market I only rely on my luck and patience.

Agreed
Patience is a virtue they say, I guess if your religious and your believe that kind of thing (to each his own  Grin).  They also say that ignorance is bliss, but we know it's way too broad of a statement to actually be considered true, because ignorance can also kill. One saying I know for sure is this, patience may or may not be a virtue, but opportunity is swift, very swift, so if you don't catch it early, you'll get left too late behind.

While this is true for experienced traders, I wouldn't recommend it to newbies. You said it yourself that you first started out by just holding. Even if you lost money in some coins, looking at ETH or Doge there is a lot of money being made. We never know when a coin could rally again.

Patience is only working for the legit coins but when you are holding new or shitcoins and you should be careful with it dude. That means if your coin can dead anytime. You should remember this if you are not holding legit coins or major coins and you should never use it as your long term investment.
I think that you are missing these words in the past.

It depends on a project or a coin because, to be honest, I also experienced waiting but gaining nothing with old projects before. As long as you're holding a potential coin, being patient is actually a good choice. Patience won't be wrong as long as we have chosen the right coins. However, that's part of our crypto journey. It isn't always successful n the beginning but at least, you've learned from it.

Yeah, patience don't always work in every circumstance,  there are some project that need to be patient with while others needs disposing as soon as possible because any delay in selling off your bags will cost you your investment,
It is very important to be able to analyse the situation and nature of the project and determine what is best approach towards it.

That is because you choose to hold altcoins that have no market potentials and it was been abandoned by the developers on the day you bought it. But if you choose BTC, ETH, and the leading coins in the market, you will not be in regret holding for years. And to say "Holding" doesn't mean that we need to hold it for the whole life, of course, we need to check its market growth if it is growing or not, otherwise, we have to sell it and move to another coin.

Well for me. I don't have that kind of attitude, I'd never followed about holding, it is just sometimes I need to hold during the bearish season but most likely, I sell my crypto when I saw profit already.

Misleading, I would never give a hope to a newbie telling him or her that one day they will make millions by holding altcoins, this is a gamble and it's only fitting for those who are ready to lose, there is no certainty that the coin will survive long, also it's wrong not to take profits when a altcoin is pumping hard, that opportunity might never return again
