There aren't enough hours in the day to give a meaningful response to the emails sent to [email protected]

We do however use the information sent to it when checking a claim

Any and all information you have should be sent there, but hold off on MtGox codes for now as we are working with them to get that information (with the users consent of course).

Ok.  I thought I had read that we could request our claim status through that email, and so I had sent a couple request but hadn't heard anything; and now it sounds like we won't get responses through that address.  Is that right?  Is there any way to check on our status?

Genjix offered you can write to his own address ([email protected]) for claim status. I did and got answer the next day I think.

Thank you, I missed that.  Did you send along any info to identify yourself or did he give you a claim status based on the email you sent the request from?

The FBI/CIA is interested in speculators? As little faith as I have in the intelligence of our elected representatives, I'd like to think the CIA/FBI is a bit more aware of the nature of Bitcoin and specifically Bitcoinica users. While I'm sure the money laundering / drug dealing types overlap a little with the Bitcoinica speculators, I doubt it is really that much of an overlap (and probably an even smaller one when you narrow it down to the users who submitted ID).

they are probably more interested in the open source currency revolutionists than the drug market...look who they work for

No one. The ID supplied was using for AML purposes, not credit check or identification. This time the ID provides is used to verify identication only.

The claim accuracy and account ownership are much more important than IDs. I'm not surprised if the IDs are not being touched at all.

Anyway, Bitcoinica Consultancy has the right to obtain any document from me.

So you DID sell the documents and private information .

Question for the forum: How much does each of the following go for?

5000 +  User emails =

3000 Drivers Licenses (not only USA, but from ANY and EVERY corner of the globe) =

List of Home and Postal Addresses  =

List of Phone numbers =

The Jackpot 3,000 + Worldwide Passports =

And lets not forget that these are all TOP Quality scans and are matched up.

And we must also take into consideration, that all of these documents are not random ordinary documents. They are bitcoin users, I am sure that adds extra value to all mentioned above. CIA or FBI mught want to have a copy of that archive for sure.

Maria.

It takes what, an hour?, to set up an auto reply explaining just this -- without delay and not in a forum post 2 month after.

That small gesture would make feel many of us better and reduce hostility here.

I felt a lot better when I got my 50% confirmation, even though I still don't hold any coin.

Why is Bitcoinica not working closer together with other services that have been used to deposit or withdraw funds (e.g. MtGox) as part of the claims validation process?

Yesterday I asked MtGox if they were approached by Bitcoinica regarding verification of MtGox claimcodes on Bitcoinica, but apparently this is not the case:

Thank you for contacting us. Here are the answer to your questions:

1. Only our management group can view where the Mt.Gox Redeemable codes were redeemed, but it is possible.
2. No, we have not been approached by any Bitcoinica LP or its employees.
3. We are not currently collaborating with Bitcoinica LP on this matter

I guess many customers have sent in their MtGox codes that they claim have been used to fund their Bitcoinica account. Wouldn't it make sense to run those by MtGox to confirm they have actually been redeemed with Bitcoinica and not some other service?

Zhou, provided (has) the pressure (forces) who are either on you?
(You are forced to do anything under duress when "hacking" bitkoinika?) Why not use this method (in the quote)? This is the easiest way to identify fake claims! I immediately sent the screenshots, and it turns out, did it for nothing?  Embarrassed

ZT / genjix / bitcoinica consultancy: I have offered to do this, but received no reply. Is it advisable to do so?

I did this too, but haven't heard anything in response.

Bitcoinica can just pull that info from their account history on mtgox, no need to get them involved in any way.

Ah, that actually makes sense. I did not consider that. Thanks!

Well, on the other hand mtgox is the only authority to say that there were no withdrawals from bitcoinica to user mtgox account. Such information may lead to identify fake claims. So maybe involving them makes sense..

We can meet today if you want. Send me an email to [email protected].

would that help fasten up the payout process?
i dont want to drive to london... but berlin is a possible

No.

What helps is sending your information or anything usable to [email protected] to be attached to your ticket. Getting the numbers exactly right if you can remember them is also very useful.

What will hurt your claim is an inaccurate or falsified report. Claims not matching the records are pushed to the back of the queue.

If I've never received any replies to my mails to [email protected], does that mean that you've got all data I could possibly provide you, or that I have been silently flagged as a scammer trying to exploit the claim process? I could send another mail asking for a status update, but I don't want to waste your time or risk being considered suspicious for nagging.

Does anyone know why we are only getting 50% and not 80, 90 or 100% ?  It seems inefficient to do this twice. (That is assuming they intend to pay pay out the other 50%)

Reducing the cost in risk * cost while we have a high uncertainty for payments. Certainty goes up as we process more payments. At the end, we have a higher certainty that we can send the remaining 50%. This is the sacrifice for having any kind of timely payments where users don't cover the cost of mistakes.

Can you bring my 500 Euros? ;-)

Edit: You shouldn't have time to meet today. You have work to do, or at least you should.
