Earlier this month the Philippines government officially accepted the Bitcoin payment as legitimate but needed a clear and transparent legal framework for Bitcoin users. This is a new step for Bitcoin's global development. It can be said that more and more governments, companies accept Bitcoin officially and legally. It is now possible for countries to promote the use of Bitcoins as little, but over time it will increase and global coverage of bitcoins is not far off. I'm looking forward to it.

That’s good to know if the Philippines will start to accept bitcoin and hopefully the ties will develop more to the point wherein we are able to use cryptocurrencies as a form of payment in this country. It would be very much easy and accessible for foreigners to bring their currencies with them when they visit the country.

About this question that talking about Philippines start to accept bitcoin, well it sounds like good, but as of now I don't ever heard any final implementations and approvals on the Philippine government, and hopefully it would truly happen. But bitcoin in the Philippines are freely operating without any threats from Philippine government.

Our country just recently held a seminar introducing bitcoin in our country. The said seminar were facilitated
by bitcoin experts and government officials in pursuit of using bitcoin as another form of payment and regulation of it as well.

The blockchain system may be the solution for Filipinos because most have no bank account. May other Southeast Asian Countries follow suit.

Yes, Philippines are accepting bitcoin but  Central Bank of the Philippines put a regulation order to the operator their the one  who can circulate bitcoin in this country and they also alarm people to do not be victimize by this new technology because we all know bitcoin is very volatile but Philippines is the first country to put a regulation order about bitcoin.

yeah i think bitcoin is getting popular here in the philippines.  But its kinda dissappointing that some are taking advantage of the system and use bitcoin to scam its always on the news. thats why investors doubt bitcoin as a legit digital money

that's good news, some countries are finally starting to see bitcoin that can be said as the currency of the future, and this could be a positive signal for bitcoin that some countries have accepted, amid rumors of some countries that ban it.

As a filipino citizen, it is really a great news.! Most of users are also waiting for their countries to accept bitcoin and use it in different transactions. Philippines is an open minded country and it is always welcome changes that would make their country better. Happy to have a government who's willing to accept new things and pursue those changes for the betterness of majority and not selfish of its own countrymen. So as of now many of us here were very glad to here about that good news.

I sincerely hope that this story is true, not just a mere omission, which we know is that the Philippines is a very small country even since the Philippines is led by Rodrigo Duterte, the country's economy is very good even far from the previous leader, hopefully this news is true ..

Actually the population is 100 million. Not a small country exactly. But it is true that the vast majority of the population supports Duterte. And even though he's a bonafide dickhead, he is trying to fix some pretty severe problems with the country. Its no easy job.

Not so. During the meeting, the leaders exchanged information on the Cryptocurrency market as well as Bitcoin. It's just talk and talk about Bitcoin. The Philippines has not officially recognized Bitcoin as a trading currency. Perhaps we have misunderstood. Many countries have such moves. Few countries banned Bitcoin.

I think If Bitcoin will spread through Philippine poverty and unemployment rate may decrease. I am very happy to read this news. Hopefully, the Government of another country can imitate the Government of the Philippines.

There most have been more seminar going on in your country,  but you never knew about it, even under developed countries hold seminars about bitcoin and the blockchain every week,  sometimes everyday. Am 100% sure that bitcoin did not just come into philliphine but has always been just that it's is presently you realised that seminar is being carried out to enlighten people on the technology.

The seminar in Manila in January was far too expensive. It was basically a party for the rich.

Exactly. It was just a seminar being hyped by I don't know?

Actually this article, thread title and content is a bit misleading. It's not the government that held a seminar about cryptocurrency but it's just a bunch of people who wants to organize it for whatever reason they have. Most of the time seminars are being held to advertise something, I'm not sure, but probably this one is another way to do it, like how the networkers do it, hiding the real reason behind.

It is a good thing that philippines has been accepting Bitcoin. Knowing that it would provide jobs for Filipino who wanted to have more than they expected or for those who just needed a job, Bitcoin would be a great answer for those questions. But in the same manner it would be a threat producing more cryptocurencies than our own currency. Yet, as far I have seen and experience, it is a great chance to earn money.
