This Chelsea team should be able to put up a fight. Only Southampton are too weak and with only 5 points now, they can be considered as a first club to be relegated at the end, but there is chance for them if they can improve in many matches ahead.

Above Southampton, Wolverhampton with 9 points are not too far from Ipswich, Leicester, Everton and Crystal Palace with points are 12, 14, 15 and 16 respectively. Several good or bad matches can change ranks of these clubs entirely. Wolverhampton have to try too much to catch above clubs and exit the relegation zone, but it's possible for them. Wolverhampton only can do this if they improve their defense, that already has 40 conceded goals so far. It's worse defense than their competitors around relegation zone and expand it to whole Premier League, they have worse defense so far.

Buddy presently will you also say that Chelsea is not part of the English premiership Title contenders as you said? The last time I checked Chelsea is sitting in the second position in the league standing with 34 points having played 16 matches in the English premiership so far, can you conveniently say that a team that has performed well as chelsea has done in the premiership and the UEFA conference league this season is not contending for the the English premier league? As for Liverpool, despite what what happened last weekend, I don't think they are doing bad, after all the match ended on a 2:2 draw, Arsenal on the other hand played a draw too and if you're conversant with the game of soccer this things do happen, as far as this season is concerned, Liverpool has been a force and I hope they will continue to be.

Manchester City illed performance will be out of this season unless there is a new thing that will be done by Guardiola, as we have seen already I think Guardiola is confused and at the same time has run out of ideas but lets see what happens next, Manchester United has new manager whose previous record in his past club sporting cp was nice, so I believe with time he will be giving his new team his best.

Indeed it will, i don't know if i can say the same of the title race, Liverpool look like they might run away with it, and Chelsea is the only team right now that is playing like they are ready to chase them down, but can this Chelsea squad keep this form when it matters most. As for City and Arsenal, they are currently not playing like title contenders, thus the title race might not be so interesting this season, but things can of course change quickly.

It will be a close call between the different teams. Ipswich are the best team currently in the relegation zone and maybe close to it. I like watching them play and they have a decent striker leading the line. Leicester too have quality in their squad and look to be improving for me despite their last capitulation at home to Spurs.

One thing is certain, it will be an interesting relegation battle.

Leicester City are struggling, and they are only two points away from the relegation zone, they have a new manager, but it is still going to be tough for them. I think Ipswich Town is stronger than Leicester and they are currently in the drop zone, if survival comes down to the both of them, i think it is Leicester that will go down.

That's right... we saw last season that those who were promoted to the Premier League returned to the Championship, unable to survive in the premier league because the competition was so tight.

The factor you mentioned where they don't have such large funds, it's right because after all buying expensive players is a burden on their finances, so it's likely they play with sober players.

I was expecting all the promoted teams to struggle, and they are. My only surprise is Leicester. I expected they'll be at the bottom when they their coach just after gaining promotion, but they are looking the most likely to stay up.

Yes - they are already out of the title race this season although there is still a chance in the second half of the season if Liverpool and Chelsea drop. Liverpool also have the potential to drop a few points in the second half for various reasons - but I'm really optimistic that Arne Slot will champion big plans until the end of the season. Titles must be wins and good performance must be maintained - this is what I expect.

That being said, the only reason why Pep's job is not on the line is because of what he has achieved with City all these years, if this was another manager in another team, even if it was a small team, the manager would have been fired.

City cannot catch a break at all. They are 9 points adrift from the top having played a game more than the league leader, that gap technically puts them of the title race for me, despite how good they can play in the second half of the season.

Chelsea are sticking out now as major title challengers, a victory tonight will take them within 2 points of Liverpool and they are under the least pressure of all the teams in the top 4.
