I am expecting a draw. I do not think City are yet out of their crisis neither do I think United have what it takes to go on and win this. Amorim's team has not shown the character against top opponents, they come for draws rather than going for wins, big contrast to his Sporting team that beat City 4-1 in the UCL.

With the ten minutes played so far, it has been very tight from both sides with the game yet to settle.

You must have watched the match and also know what the result was.
As I expected - the game was won by Manchester United and it was absolutely crazy. Manchester City made mistakes in the last 5 or 10 minutes including injury time - it all changed a game they should have won with a 1-0 lead. Amad Diallo scored 1 goal and got 1 penalty when Nunez fouled him in the penalty box, that was really impressive.

After this match - I think Pep Guardiola was really angry. We all saw how he reacted when Manchester United got a penalty - so of course he will be angry with his team. But anyway - Manchester City have not been able to break the trend of poor performance, especially in defence.

However, the most interesting thing at the moment is the Manchester derby match between Manchester City and Manchester United. I think City will bounce back at home - but it would be great if United won.  Cheesy

Palmer breaks record for most penalties taken without EVER missing (12)
How many goal contributions do you think he will get today against high scoring and free-playing Brentford?
Brentford have conceded 28 goals in 15 games - meaning they don't have the defense to prevent Chelsea scoring a few goals. So far, Cole Palmer has scored half of his total goals last season in the Premier League, meaning he has contributed to 17 Chelsea goals in his last 15 matches, where he has scored 11 goals and provided 6 assists.

This match will certainly be a good opportunity to improve his goal statistics to match those of Haaland or Salah - but Chelsea still have to be careful because they cannot only think about individual achievements more than team achievements. Two Brentford players worth keeping an eye on - they are Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa who have contributed to 21 of Brentford's goals so far in the Premier League.

However, the most interesting thing at the moment is the Manchester derby match between Manchester City and Manchester United. I think City will bounce back at home - but it would be great if United won.  Cheesy

Isn’t there way too much quality for the Real Madrid’s team already? I see no reason why TAA should join Real Madrid.
They need to make some signings to bolster weak areas. Carvajal is 32 and currently injured for the long term. Older players recover from injuries slower and Vasquez is covering as a makeshift rb. They need a long term replacement for that position and TAA fills those shoes.
Having lots of talent but not key players in necessary roles leads to an imbalanced team.

I see no reason why TAA should join Real Madrid. Not at this time when the Real Madrid team is not what it’s used to be, there UCL records destroyed and they don’t seem like a trophy team no more.
A team like Madrid always has the transfer pull to get a player they want. Players see these type of clubs like the peak of ones career. And the season jus started, still lots of time to defend their European and Spanish titles.
I agree that they could do with yet another trader to fill in the void Carvajal have left on the team and TAA is a very good edition to fit in those big boots but, that would be way too much squad for one team. A team that has got all the best talents across the continents, it’s one of the reasons why they underperform as I see it. They don’t need way too much talents, just how to apply them and I don’t see why TAA should agree to join the club at this time when Liverpool is at its best. He would be better off staying at Liverpool than try to revive the challenged Real Madrid.

They will need to replace Carvajal and some old players but they will not do it in the coming winter transfer season that is risky for all clubs to spend big money for player transfers.
I don't think they will make a move in January, big money transfers don't happen then. We are referring to next summer transfer window, if by then the contract situations haven't been settled, clubs will definitely be in contact.

Real Madrid are a rich club and they will spend money for transfers if necessary, but this club under Florentino Perez actually have used their club budget for player transfers and salary very smartly. With their clever style, they will not overspend money in this winter transfer window, I am sure about it.
Players who are in tight contract situations usually come at a bargain, that's what they'll be hoping for. Look at him much they got Mbappe for.

Because this market season is proven as risky for big transfers, because many transfers failed that can be explained by having only several weeks to adapt to a new club, before playing with a new coach and new teammates, is not ideal for both new players, coach and the team.

Maybe City could be eliminated in this phase... The next opponent with PSG is quite tough actually.
Yes they could be eliminated, except there is a change of fortune; and quickly too. City have completely lost that fear factor, no team is afraid of them anymore, as a matter of fact, every team in Europe will relish a game against City right now.
The Manchester derby is equally bad, I don't know which one will win, but usually the home team has the advantage, if City lose we won't be surprised anymore now.
City are at home in the Etihad, but that should not matter, Spurs beat City 4-0 at the Etihad a few weeks ago; United can do the same this weekend when they meet.

Liverpool on the other hand, they’ve been some of the best teams there is, performing at every level and are serious title contenders in both the EPL and the international leagues they play in.
TAA could remain at Liverpool for one or two more season.
To be sincere this season has been shocking and proven that nothing is set in stone.
When Real Madrid lost in UCL I thought I saw seeing things that I was watching a 90+ minutes.
Manchester City hit the nail on the head in cementing that this season is a weird one.
Chelsea after how many years of revolving below the Top 5 are finally titles contenders.
Sigh it's crazy
No big team is safe anymore
The confidence I had in all these clubs has been quite shaken this season filled with anything can happen.
Placed placing bets on hold for now
I wanna step back and observe first.

There are even rumors that Real Madrid are going to bid for Trent in the summer transfer window and the rumors make sense to me, Dani Carvajal is out on a long-term injury and due to his age there is no way he is going to return the same. Trent is just 26 years old and he is a perfect replacement for Carvajal, and we all know that if Real Madrid calls, it is impossible to say no.
Yes, Trent is a perfect replacement, one of the best attacking right backs in the world and one who fits the counterattacking style of Madrid, which is similar to that of Liverpool.

This will weigh in heavily into his contract negotiations. I expect Liverpool to lose on of the trio this summer.

Maybe City could be eliminated in this phase... The next opponent with PSG is quite tough actually.
That will be really bad for City and will affect their performance for the rest of the season. Dropping out in the first stage of the UCL will surely have some psychological effect which will trump any effect of playing less matches.
Getting knocked out in the first round is very likely for City seeing the conditions continue to decline... the psychological effect is certain in addition to the players' mentality will be down if they fall early.

22nd in the table after 6 matches is not ideal at all.
I don't expect City as the betting favorite team anymore now.

I expect Liverpool to lose on of the trio this summer.
Including Salah and Trent Arnold whose contract is not yet clear, Liverpool could lose their important players.

22nd in the table after 6 matches is not ideal at all.

In top 8, two small clubs appear there, Brest and LOSC, but with pressure from many big clubs behind and with very small differences like 1 or 2 points, I guess these small clubs will be out of top 8 after next two matches.
They have been brilliant for the last 6 matches, I do not see what should change in the last 2.

This is a bad phase for Manchester City after several seasons of good performances, yes they can only control the ball throughout the match but cannot be creative in creating goals anymore, especially in defense it is too bad I see at this time.

Maybe City could be eliminated in this phase... The next opponent with PSG is quite tough actually.
Manchester City and PSG have almost same total points but looking at their goals and conceded goals, they have difference in attacking. PSG have very bad attacking power with only 6 goals after 6 matches. Manchester City have better attacking power but they both have very bad defense and their defensive performance will decide winner in their next direct match.

In top 8, two small clubs appear there, Brest and LOSC, but with pressure from many big clubs behind and with very small differences like 1 or 2 points, I guess these small clubs will be out of top 8 after next two matches. There will be two big clubs enter top eight but with many of them now under top 8, it's not easy to say what giant will luckily get two least spots in top 8.

Manchester City lost again, how the odds on their favour during bet has risen.
Absolutely any club can beat Manchester City right now, it is like they just step out on the field to lose, no desire, careless on the ball, horrendous goalkeeping and terrible defense, there is a high chance they might be eliminated from the CL league phase (that's they'll finish below 24th position).

The Manchester derby is next for City, though United themselves are not in great form, but it should be an easy win for Ruben Amorim's men i think.

Trent will want to negotiate a good offer with his age and so will Van Dijk. They also have FFP to contend with so are in a tight spot.

I have been hoping for a replacement for Carvajal for a while now
Though he's remarkable
Age doesn't really care about those. It won't be easy I hope Trent can fill his shoes.
Young players filling our first eleven is an encouragement for the future.

i think there are also a couple of players out of contract at the end of this season, IIRC, Van Djik is one of those players. It is left for the club to sort out these issues, but even if they lose players at the end of this season, it'll only be a few, and they will not have to buy too many players to fix those gaps.
They have Van Dijk and Trent with contracts to be settled and it puts them in a tight spot. Mo Salah will be expecting similar contract offer to the one he is on which is about to run out. If he does get the contract offer he wants, Trent will want to negotiate a good offer with his age and so will Van Dijk. They also have FFP to contend with so are in a tight spot.

It was not a great performance from them, but that's the thing about a team in form, they don't have to be at their best to win games.
They have mastered the art of controlling games when they go ahead. Even when it's not pretty, they find a way to win.
