Welp. Massive news as there's so many stake.com users out there that are fond of Poker as a sport. Might even see this as a gateway to get into the big leagues considering how massive the influence of Stake is in the sports industry from the outside, evident from their numerous partnerships and how they don't spare costs in making sure that their customers are receiving the best of service in this industry. With more and more sites closing out on Poker and the game being a little hard to find and play with nowadays, this will really push users into switching to Stake, real smart move if i do say so myself. Hopefully they put their own twist to this game and offer users a genuine and unique stake.com experience.

It would be great if that happened. To be honest, finding a place to play poker using crypto is very difficult right now.

I'm not sure if we can compare any crypto poker site with the best fiat poker sites... more players/promotions/tournaments/and pretty much everything else. And probably even more important almost all time zones can find interesting games at any time of the day in fiat places, with crypto we need to catch "the right time of the day" if we want to see some action.

Well, the Stake is big, and I guess they can come out with something big... but what will they do we will see.

Question is though, will they make their own poker software/network where only stake players will be able to play or will they join a network like ipoker, ggpoker, 888 and so on.
My best guess that they will keep it in house because KYC is not mandatory. Some abusers might want to run up some amounts on sports/casino and the chip dump it to somebody on a different site through shared network.
It doesn't make any sense if they are planning to implement a 3rd party software I think. It would be better to have poker as their own developed game. Stake have resources, fund and everything they need to grow too. I don't think they are going to bring 3rd party software. I'm excited to see something cool.
I'm a huge fan of board games, it would be huge if they launch.

It would be great if that happened. To be honest, finding a place to play poker using crypto is very difficult right now.
I have played poker on swc, but I'm not really sure some other platforms have it. Maybe betnomi has it too but I haven't played there though I once was planning to participate in a tournament here but due to my time schedule, I couldn't.

I think this topic is more suitable to discuss on the Stake.com thread since this an announcement for their upcoming games and not a general discussion about gambling.

I dunno but this might be allowed since you are not part of the Stake. I think this poker game from Stake will sure be incorporated by bonuses and insane tournament rewards. We know that Stake is very generous when they have new games. We might see free roll tables exclusive for Bitcointalk users. This is what I’m looking forward on this news.

Or the OP can move this thread to the gambling discussion board.
But in any case, I believe there are a lot of poker players in this forum who will be happy about this update.
Stake is a reputable casino and bookie, and can handle large amount of deposits and withdrawals without a problem.
You won't question their capability of handling this type of game. And you are confident that they won't screw you.
So let's wait and see when will this game will be open and what perks are waiting for poker gamers.

I thought because of the ANN thread being spammed by certain people recently, this would be an important thing it worth it's own thread.
In the ANN most topics recently are only "be scammed", gambling addiction conversations between 3-4 people and casino multipliers, quite boring in my eyes.

Going from 2 main attractions ( Casino and sports book ) to 3 is a big deal in my eyes, that's why I thought it deserves an extra discussion.

If somebody wants to move it though, of course that's totally fine.

On yesterday's stream Eddie said Poker should and will be coming to stake some time soon.
He didn't mention a specific time though.

I think that's a great idea. They basically get risk free money through collecting the rake. Having a super big player base this would be a HUGE opportunity for stake and for their players.

For people with skill at poker that might become a lucrative site. Many degen gamblers that just lost with casino games and sports might "try their luck" at poker, fishing time.  Grin

My best guess that they will keep it in house because KYC is not mandatory. Some abusers might want to run up some amounts on sports/casino and the chip dump it to somebody on a different site through shared network.

Anyway, I think it's a nice idea. Poker with crypto still is WAY too small.
Let's hope they can create a fun and safe environment with a lot of different poker variations like NLH, PLO, Stud games, Chinese Poker and so on.

Hopefully they are asking the players for their input when creating this! And please, make some moderate rake.  Grin

That would be a great catch for the website. Chinese poker and Stud games would be interesting, and maybe they would add other variation with tricks like leaderboards and rewards. Maybe adding KYC would be better to still ensure the security of both the casino and the players involved.

Overall, this simply means that more players will get on board and hoping that the casino can accommodate all the players, with all their withdraws ,deposits, queries, and customer support.
