Benfica produced a scintillating performance against Rio Ave and I think it was one of the most entertaining performances in the Portuguese league in recent times. A lot of people have been talking about Kerem Aktürkoğlu's incredible form and I think it's a good development for Benfica who has been struggling in the league this season. Benfica is currently 8 points behind league leaders Sporting CP but have a game at hand and if they can manage to that game, then they'll be just five points behind. I already knew that Kerem Aktürkoğlu would be successful in Benfica, but I didn't expect him to perform so well in such a short period of time. In Türkiye, there was an identity-based fan pressure on him, but in Benfica we can see that he is in a very comfortable environment. He was struggling to convert the goal positions he found in the Rio Ave game or in the Portuguese league into goals while playing in Türkiye. In Benfica, his mind is at ease and this is reflected in his play, he scores all kinds of goals. He may make another transfer at the end of the season if his performance continues like this... Yes it was deserved win for Porto and they could save 3 points in full, only in the future competition I see for Porto, Benfica, Santa Clara and Braga will be interesting because they are team that occupy the second to fifth positions with point difference that is not so much, the shift up and down the rankings is certain to be easier to happen for some time to come. Braga has always been trying in the league but the club always remain below the third position. The matches that are always interesting to me has been the the first three clubs which are usually Sporting CP, FC Porto and Benfica. Sporting CP has played 9 matches and it won the whole 9 matches which is something good. The next match that will be very interesting to me but which I can not bet on is Befica versus Sporting CP and also Benfica versus FC Porto.then Porto will have 24 points and difference of 3 points from Sporting who occupy the top position. Next tomorrow Porto will face AVS Futebol SAD and of course this will be an easy match for Porto, by winning again and saving 3 points then Porto will have 24 points and difference of 3 points from Sporting who occupy the top position. I guess Porto would win the match also. The club really managed to stay at the second position, suffered only one loss yet in this season which was the match between the club and Sporting CP. ~snip~ ~snip~Porto deserve the win as they where the better side, they are still very much in the title race but the race will continue after the international break. Averall it was an interesting match to watch and kudos to porto for getting the win. In total he has 10 goals in 11 games this season. He makes an incredible contribution to the offense. Benfica bought him for 12 million Euro, but it seems like 40-50 million Euro offers will come soon. It will be nice to see him fighting for goals and top scorer against Gyökeres  It's remarkable that Benfica have improved in recent games, even though they lost to Feynoord in the UCL  I don't know if it will be enough to fight for the title, but it's not even Benfica's fault, after all it was only a defeat in the league, but Sporting seem invincible so far, it's been incredible to watch the team play, 9 games, 9 wins, and 30 goals  I'm just waiting for Porto's match to guarantee my bet hehehe

 Just put a small bet here, 2.30 of odds Sporting, Benfica and Porto have to win  I don't think Famalicao can hold a draw against Sporting, after all Sporting won last 5 rounds while Famalicao lost one match and draw another 4 There is no league games this weekend, but there is plenty of Cup games. Most of strongesty clubs is playing with lower division clubs, that's great chance to rest some main players. Only Sporting is playing with a bit stronger opponent - Portimonense, but it shouldn't be a problem for them. Exactly, that's why I didn't put any game list. There is nothing very relevant. Sometimes surprises can arise, and teams from lower leagues manage to beat bigger clubs. However, this is unlikely to happen with the main Portuguese clubs in this round.
There is no league games this weekend, but there is plenty of Cup games. Most of strongesty clubs is playing with lower division clubs, that's great chance to rest some main players. Only Sporting is playing with a bit stronger opponent - Portimonense, but it shouldn't be a problem for them.
I hope Benfica's lawyers can prove Benfica's innocence and that this case is closed as soon as possible. Without Benfica in the Portuguese league, the league would lose the level of competitiveness it currently has. I can't see the Portuguese league with only Porto and Sporting getting much attention. Even when Benfica is not doing well, the number of fans in the stadium is high and I believe that when these fans buy tickets they are paying some tax on the ticket purchase and the money goes to the government. So if Benfica is banned then that will not be good for the government. Tax fraud is serious thing, but I doubt that scenario where Benfica is removed from Portuguese is likely. I predict that they will have to pay huge penalty, maybe someone who is responsible for these things can be put in prison and that's all. Jump to:
