Sporting started the season with 4 matches which were overall wins so they won 12 points in full, indeed for the Portuguese League always makes Sporting one of the top team that are able to become favorite team from each season.
In the future for the 5th match we will watch Sporting play against Arouca away and it is hoped that Sporting will still be able to win in this match because after all looking at the performance statistics of each team it is clear that Sporting is much stronger.
Last season Arouca managed to finish the League by occupying 7th position, but at the beginning of this season Arouca was only able to save 1 win and they played much worse than last season.
Sporting is one of the big teams in the league, so it's not surprising to see them even at the top of the standings. But what surprised me, they were able to start the season brilliantly. Look at their match results, 3 goals with Rio Ave, 6 goals with Nacional, 5 goals with Farense and 2 goals with Porto. When I saw these results, I was reminded of Manchester City and how they can get big goals, if Sporting maintain this form, they will be champions this season.
Of course because for the Portuguese League itself only Sporting, Benfica and Porto always dominate, for the title acquisition also these three team have the most titles although the top is still held by Benfica with 38 times then Porto 30 times and followed by Sporting with 20 championship titles.
Last season Sporting won the title and this season they started the competition very well, it is likely that we will still be able to see Sporting to defend the title if Benfica and Porto return to performing like last season which showed several failures to achieve more wins.
Sporting preparation for this new season is also quite good and they have been able to compete more competently, we'll just see what Sporting can show in the future, I think they are the favorites for this season.

[...] I hope he continues with his current scoring ratio so he lands himself big transfer deals in the transfer windows to come

He will, last season he managed to become the top scorer with a collection of 29 goals, and currently he has got almost 25% of his collection last season from just 4 matches. In the national team he can also talk a lot, last night Sweden faced Azerbaijan & Sweden won with a score of Azerbaijan 1 - 3 Sweden, of the three goals that Sweden had, there was Viktor's contribution there, he managed to make 2 assists & 1 goal. I'm sure in the next transfer window he will have a new club.

Sometimes not betting is a good choice, as I would have lost the bet because of Benfica  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I only put Benfica in my multibet bet if they are playing at home against an opponent that hasn't won in the last 4 games and that has difficulty scoring goals and if the odds are @1.16 and I see that I don't have any other good games to add to my multibet bet

The situation is really bad
I'll have to be careful with my bets on benfica for a few rounds, otherwise I could lose some bets easily, even that ones like you said 1.15 odds, something like that

I don't think this situation will last for long, after all Benfica has players, tradition and should soon settle down
but if they stay in this unstable situation for five or six games, it could already undermine the possibility of a title

EDIT
I only just realized that I hadn't given merit to your thread, I'm sorry joker

[...] Gyökeres is absolutely on fire! 7 goals in 4 matches is just very impressive stats. I can't believe how Arsenal gave up on this signing.  Sad  A real striker was what they needed and they missed a pure scorer like him. [...]
I rarely follow up with the happenings in the Portuguese league but what caught my attention earlier this week was when I saw a list of players contending for the European golden boot in the current campaign only for me to see that alongside Erling Haaland of Manchester City, there's another player who's already netted 7 league goals. Viktor Gyökeres is just a class on his own and to think that Arsenal was linked with him but ended up not signing him is just crazy considering the club's need for a sharp and prolific striker like Swedish striker. I hope he continues with his current scoring ratio so he lands himself big transfer deals in the transfer windows to come

Woah! Sporting has made a magnificent start to the season.  Cheesy  4 wins in 4 matches, 16 goals scored and only 2 conceded... It must be like a dream for the fans from which they would never like to wake up.

Who knows how much he will increase his value this season. Maybe Sporting won't let him go less than 100m euros. It is early stages in the season maybe but I believe Sporting have the biggest chance for the trophy with this effort.

Unexpectedly, Sporting started the season smoothly in the first 4 games, successfully achieving full points, scoring 16 goals, which is not an easy thing for a team without good cooperation.
Gyokeres is a goalscoring machine who they discovered can set deadly statistics. It's a shame that Arsenal lost a classy striker like him.
Of course, after this season, Gyokeres will have a higher value, especially if he can lead the current club to win the championship trophy.

There is still a possibility that we will see Viktor Gyökeres at Arsenal in the future, Arsenal's path is also getting more difficult because Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur also want this Swedish player. Brighton is the unlucky team here, Gyökeres originally belonged to Brighton, but they were unable to see the great potential that existed in Gyokeres.

Now Gyökeres is enjoying his journey at Sporting, if he & his team are able to maintain their condition, Sporting will win their league title again this season.

I'm negatively impressed with Benfica. I don't think it's just the coach who's the problem, but it's possible that the new coach will have a new vision of the game so that he can continue his work, because they already lost important points that could be missed at the end of the season

I've been following the news that Bruno Lage will probably be appointed as Befica's coach. He was already Benfica's coach 4 years ago, he managed to make Benfica become champions, but then he was fired because the team didn't have good results. The fact is that after being fired he failed in the other teams he became coach

Yesterday I watched Gil Vicente - Braga and one more time I realised why I don't watch Portuguese league games outside Top 3. There was almost zero action during whole game. But it was perfect game to fall asleep on late Sunday evening Smiley.
That match was no exciting and no team could do any goal and score was level in the end of match.  I was Supporting Braga team but they disappointed us and we didn't see any goal in the end of match. The shots of Gil Vicente team were more in number and these were 11 as comparison to shots of Braga and they hit 9 shots . The shots on target was also more from Gil Vicente but possession percentage of Braga team was good and the passes of Braga team was also excellent . We did not see any match winner player in this match and match was ended with draw and both teams got equal points. That was a very boring match.

Here are the results of the 4th round. Where we saw Sporting beat their rival Porto, and Benfica ended up tying the game, which resulted in the coach being fired.

Viktor Gyökeres is on fire hehe, he scored an important goal against Porto, a penalty of course, but it's already a goal against a strong team

Here are the results of the 4th round. Where we saw Sporting beat their rival Porto, and Benfica ended up tying the game, which resulted in the coach being fired.

Porto's situation is not good, they have a squad that in my opinion needs to be improved in order to compete against Sporting, but from what I heard on Portuguese TV channels, Porto is not doing very well financially, which is why they can't afford to make big signings, so they will need to find new players with great skills, after playing for Porto and bringing some titles, they will need to sell these good young players so that the team can earn a lot of money. Well, it turns out that Porto wanted to sell Galeno to Al Ittihad, but for some reason that I don't know, the deal didn't go through just when almost everything was already agreed.  Grin

FC Porto statement: We want to inform SPL chairmain, we’re shocked and disappointed with behaviour on Galeno deal.

There was total agreement in place with both Al Ittihad and player side”.

We’re very happy now to keep Galeno at the club”.

source: https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1830730740428087426

but Galeno scored 3 goals in 4 games and when you look at how many goals Porto scored, we see that they scored 7 goals in 4 games, this means that Galeno alone scored more than 50% of Porto's goals, so it wouldn't make much sense to sell Galeno that season and they wanted to sell Galeno who scores a lot of goals and they went to sign a defender:

Tiago Djaló and Porto. Done.

source: https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1830738449714028927

If they had sold Galeno, they would have had a weak attack and would have focused on defense. So I see that the intention of Porto's management is not to win the League as a priority, but rather to improve the club's finances as a priority.

Benfica, which still doesn't have a coach, I also don't see them being able to get good results this season. Even if they brought in a good coach, it would take time for the new coach to put the team on the right path. That's why I see Sporting as the only team best positioned to be champion.

Finally, they mentioned Sergio Conceição, former coach of FC Porto. In my opinion, he would be an excellent choice. It is true that Sergio Conceição has some behavioral problems, but he is competent and could help Benfica win titles. He understands Portuguese football very well.
Conceicao probably would be most interesting choice and such decision wouldn't be liked by everyone. I kinda liked what he was doing in Porto, but you're right that his behaviour can cause problems.

Probably not surprising outcome. I read rumours that Allegri can be next manager of Benfica. Not sure it would be good or bad. Only fact that it would be very interesting.

Today, every day, the radio channels in my country are talking a lot about the possible names that could become Benfica coaches. Of the 5 names, the most popular is Bruno Lage, who was once Benfica's coach. He managed to win the league but was later fired because he only won 1 of 8 games. So I don't understand why they would bring him back. Leonardo Jardim is another name that has been talked about a lot. He was Al Hilal's coach and won the Saudi league. He was also Monaco's coach and didn't win anything. He was also Olympiacos' coach. I honestly don't think he would be a good option. They also talked about Massimiliano Allegri.

The problem with Massimiliano Allegri is that he focuses much more on defense. I don't like the way the teams he coaches play. But sometimes his style works. Benfica fans wouldn't like Massimiliano Allegri's style. Mark van Bommel, who I also think is a bad choice. Finally, they mentioned Sergio Conceição, former coach of FC Porto. In my opinion, he would be an excellent choice. It is true that Sergio Conceição has some behavioral problems, but he is competent and could help Benfica win titles. He understands Portuguese football very well.

Famalica has been going with unbeaten record with 3 matches played, the club won Benfica but suffered 2-1 loss to Vitoria de Guimaraes today. Although, the club can not be a long time competitor with Sporting CP. Sporting CP is leading already.

Sporting CP 2 - 0 FC Porto

It is getting clear from the beginning of the season that this season belongs to Sporting CP. Be expecting more lower odds for this club in the coming matches.

Viktor Gyökeres scored for Sporting CP at 72nd minutes while Geny Catamo scored the second goal during the 4th minutes of the 5 minutes of the extra time given. Undoubtedly Sporting CP is the best club in the league for now.

There is no way Sporting will miss the trophy this season because I don't see any club on this Portuguese league that perform better than them, before the only club that is always competitive is FC Porto but since they have failed to withstand the performance of Sporting there is no any other team that can stop Sporting from wining the league because they already have the highest points after wining FC Porto and they are currently the top club of the table.

From all the clubs they have meet, Nacional and Farense is the two clubs that suffered so much on the hands of Sporting because the goals they conceived was too much, they gave Nacional 6:1 and Farense 5:0, however another club I'm seeing that will become a little bit threat to Sporting is Famalicoa because Sporting is just 2 point above them and if Famalicoa beats Vitoria today that means that they would have the same point as Sporting but they are currently playing 1:1 right now.

It seemed that the Porto players were lost on the field, they had two shots that the Sporting goalkeeper managed to defend, apart from that I didn't see Porto causing any other danger to Sporting, it was very clear that Sporting was superior in this game and with that advantage in points
It was one of games were simply better team won. Porto wasn't able to offer much. Don't want to draw early conclusions, but Sporting looks like main contender to take title again. If you let them ahead early, it will be difficult to reach them. Especially when Porto and Benfica doesn't looks stable at all.

He even fired the coach. Roger had already been doing a bad job since the last round, so it was difficult to continue giving time for something different to happen. Now Benfica is looking for a new coach. I believe that within 1-2 business days, we will know who will be the new coach.

This is the question that is increasingly being asked. The problem is not just the results. It is the fact that the team in general plays badly, without any motivation. If the team lost, but at least it showed quality in the game, it would be different. Now it doesn't even show that.

Rui Costa, the club's president, even left the stands as soon as Benfica conceded the goal. So things really started to get complicated. Something has to be done, there is less than a month to go until the Champions League starts, and if things don't improve, it will be complicated.
Without any doubt now situation is not good as early rounds, and they are having problematic start in away games but still I have believed Rui Costa needs to keep calm and give some more time to coach because sacking coach quickly is never been ideal for any club as we have too many examples things like these ruin the clubs season.

He even fired the coach. Roger had already been doing a bad job since the last round, so it was difficult to continue giving time for something different to happen. Now Benfica is looking for a new coach. I believe that within 1-2 business days, we will know who will be the new coach.

It seems that the opponents were given red cards so as not to change the result of the game. These red cards are very strange, and given Porto's defeat in this game, I am even more suspicious.

By chance, that is not the feeling in Portugal regarding this point yet. Now, if this situation continues to repeat itself, things could change.
