There is no whitepaper so they r both equal. A bad implementation of a feature that is promised to do more is always worsed than not doing it all. As a non developer I dont expect you to fully understand that statement.. mayne thats why devs are making all the money here since we know

Does your app allow for setting up a portfolio of coins so a person can keep track of their balance. Similar to any portfolio snap in on any portal like yahoo or whatever.

If not, is anyone aware of such an app or site?

no.  your wallet password is a different concept..  if you are talking about electrum....

Download  and install the Viacoin-Qt from http://viacoin.org. Right click your receiving address in Vialectrum and copy that private key. Go to Help > Debug Window > Console in Viacoin-Qt and type "importprivkey yourprivatekey".
