Trying to send my Viacoin from the Vialectrum wallet and I keep getting this error, any idea how to fix this?
Everyone is getting that. Download the regular win/mac wallet and import your private key from the electrum wallet, and you should be good to go.
This is one of the alts i will hold till december, since the dev has lot of reputation and i think a dreamer. 0.01 per via/btc is not impossible since this targets apps and new market.

Someone in the ann thread mentioned how to do it:
1. Load Viacoin-Qt
2. Click Help -> Debug Window
3. Click Console tab
4. Type the following

After a quick rescan, it'll be done.

I had the same problem as everyone else with my Electrum wallet. Got it moved over to the new one, but I am using a virtual machine that tends to be rather clunky... after several lockups, reboots, etc I finally got the coins over to an exchange. And of course by then I missed the best prices.

Right click on your receiving address to see your private key.

Just export your private key and import to Viacoin-Qt. Instructions in the main ANN thread.

No, that's a seed. The private key is about 50 characters.

So I did this and now my balance shows in VIA-qt. what do I do with the viaelectrum wallet? Just leave it? Do I have to delete it?
You do not "have" to delete it. You have to decide if you want to use a deterministic lightweight wallet or a non-deterministic full weight wallet. Both have their pros and cons.
