The Premier League is finally back with the second part of the season.  Smiley  What do you think about the Newcastle v Manchester City and Manchester United v Tottenham matches?
Newcastle's chances are smaller than Manchester City's chances of winning.
The most likely option, in my opinion, is that this match will end in a draw because Newcastle and Manchester City are experiencing several deficiencies, including several of their core players.
Manchester City are a little better because their attacking midfielder, Kevin de Bruyne, is back, although their top scorer, Haaland, is still doubtful to play.

Manchester United may continue the bad trend. Doubtful if betting on Manchester United winning.
Tottenham also lost Son, who played for the national team in the Asian Cup.

Well their lack of concentration in games especially when having 2 goals up is usually what affects this team. Like in the game against Man United, they lost concentration and this had a negative effect on them. They lost all 3 points and even struggled not to concede more than 3 and this is what they should try to work on as a team, else they'll miss their chance of qualifying for the top four to participate in the UCL tournament season.

I think Aston Villa's chances of qualifying for the Champions League next season are very big and I'm sure they will be able to qualify. But honestly I don't see any chance of them becoming champions unless they are able to do what Leicester did in the 2015/2016 season. But it was a miracle like a fairy tale. If you look at the opportunities, I think in this modern era it will be difficult if the team is not able to perform consistently and has good squad depth. But let's just wait and see what Aston Villa can do at the end of the season.

Aston villa has very big chance to make it happen. The club can make the gap to be even bigger as long as emery's squad will able to farm three points consistently from other clubs in EPL. Again and again inconsistency becomes the main opponent from aston villa.
Sometimes, this club peforms so well but as you can see that how it was losing against other club in the previous game. Emery needs to push his club to play even better than before. This to make sure aston can secure one of UCL ticket at the end of season.
It will be also adding more income for aston villa to play in UCL next season. Im thinking emery was not putting EPL trophy as the main target. Competing against city and liverpool are very hard task to be done by the club.
In fact, aston villa is not having ambition to talk about the title race which mean it has lower target like UCL spot. We have valued UCL spot as a trophy caused by it will be also able giving the club participate on it a lot of additional income.
It will be very useful for aston villa to play there and i hope emery's squad can make it happen soon.

Yes, in the second leg, Chelsea still has a big chance to turn things around, they made a mistake in the first leg and were beaten by a team from the 2nd division, so in this second leg, I'm sure Chelsea will maximize their performance so they don't fail again so they can advance to the final round. because this is Chelsea's home match, Chelsea should be able to take advantage of it well, especially as Middlesbrough is not a strong team, it is just an ordinary team in the Champions League, its position is not good, Chelsea should be able to beat it at home, if they fail, that would be quite embarrassing for Chelsea. Hopefully the strategy implemented by Pochettino is successful and Chelsea can qualify for the final against Liverpool and fight for the EFL trophy or become runner up. To be honest, I doubt Chelsea can beat Liverpool Grin
Chelsea really need to bounce back in the second leg and secure a spot in the final, especially given the first-leg result against a team from the Championship, otherwise it could haunt their mentality because of being lost to a weak team. Playing at home should provide them an advantage, and they will likely aim to rectify their mistakes and put in a strong performance. Middlesbrough is not a team to lose a any chance for a team of Chelsea's calibre.

The potential final against Liverpool will be rematch of final from two seasons ago, but the potential revenge is not in Chelsea's favor. It's all part of the excitement and uncertainty that makes football so intriguing. Regardless of the outcome, the match against Middlesbrough should be an interesting one, and fans will be eager to see how Chelsea responds.
Of course, because if Chelsea don't take advantage of the opportunity in this second leg then they will further lower their mentality because they were beaten by a weak club that not from the main league. Knowing that Chelsea's performance is still quite unstable is always worrying for both the fans and the bettors who bet on this club, because sometimes Chelsea's winning results cannot be predicted easily because even against weak teams Chelsea loses, how can you expect Chelsea to achieve maximum results in every match? I think Middlesbrough be quite confident after beating Chelsea in the first leg and they hope to win in the second leg to reach the final.

I don't think Chelsea is strong enough against Liverpool, whose condition is currently much more consistent than Chelsea, so if they meet in the final, I think Chelsea will lose because Liverpool will beat Chelsea with their extraordinary performance this season and win the EFL trophy.

The Premier League is finally back with the second part of the season.  Smiley  What do you think about the Newcastle v Manchester City and Manchester United v Tottenham matches?

For the first match I see Manchester City being a solid favourite to win the match. De Bruyne is finally back which must have made Guardiola and fans both very happy. Because De Bruyne is one of the game changers for Manchester City as you know. His creativity and individual skills are really valuable. He made difference in his first match after injury already. I expect him to be in the starting eleven against Newcastle as well.  Smiley

The other match is also very attracting.  Grin  I think this match could be similar to the Manchester United v Aston Villa match. I wouldn't be surprised to see Tottenham scoring first and then Manchester United trying to make a comeback. I'm confident about both teams to score but it is hard to predict how the match would end.  Sad

Manchester United new owners would be around to see the game for the first time at Old Trafford, I feel like Erik Ten Hag has to convince them he is the right man to work with them.
Also, winning tomorrow against Tottenham Hotspur will see him go ahead of Sir Alex Ferguson winning rate also, it'll be something I love for him since I feel like he should be backed as the man for the club.

Manchester City against Newcastle, I can't day, but with the zeal to go on top, Manchester City would deal with Newcastle United who will be at home hosting the defending Champions.

Im city fans and i was feeling so happy seeing him back again and the upcoming game will not be so hard for manchester city. We have de bruyne in our side and is there a team that needs to be feeling worry? Newcastle shall be worrying its performance against king city.
City will become unbeatable when de bruyne was playing for city regularly again. The king of assist has been coming back again from his injury. Im only waiting for haaland to join in the team as well and a deadly team will be back again soon.

I would prefer to take aston villa instead of manchester united. Villa has an excellent performance at this moment even better than united which has been placed under it. Im sure city is going to win against newcastle.
Manchester united may be losing soon against aston villa. I have no trust to the manchester united as a bettor coz aston villa may be controlling the game soon. Aston villa hundred times better than last season.

The Premier league would be back again after the break from other tournaments and every team is currently strengthing against the second half of the season which would determine the clubs that would head into the European tournaments and those that would be relegated from EPL. Well asides that some club would be affected by the AFCON competition especially Tottenham that's got African players included in their squad, they would be facing Manchester United that's lost in their 1st meeting and would be looking for a revenge in the 2nd leg.

I think this match is going to be a very tough one because despite the departure of some African and Asian starting players in Tottenham, they still got a good player in their squad and they recently strengthened their attack. However Manchester united are the hosting team and they won't want to be defeated away and at home by United.

Meanwhile the arrival of Debruyne means a lot to City and it could play a major role in them winning against Newcastle, Pep Guardiola won't want to take any chances in this second segment of the league therfore he'll come all out with a full squad of his starting XI in that match, well Newcastle is not a team to underestimate but they're definitely favourites to win the game.

It's one of the games when the advantage on the field doesn't convert into the final score. The full-time result was 1-0 to Middlesborough despite Chelsea being the dominating side. They still have 2nd leg to play on 23rd at home and I'd still expect them to go through.
They have no real chances of finishing in the top 5 of the Premier League, so I don't think they'd be giving up on the EFL Cup that easy. Their fans want to see some trophy.

The second match will be played at Chelsea's home ground. This will be an advantage for Chelsea who plays as host. Although I predict Middlesbrough will try the bus parking tactic because they have an advantage in the first leg. But that would be very risky because they only lead by 1 goal in the first leg, which means that if Chelsea were able to score just one goal then the score would be a draw and it would continue with extra time. I think a mediocre team like Middlesbrough must be able to maintain their lead and score additional goals because if they make the slightest mistake, that will be Chelsea's chance to turn things around.

today's match in the efl cup midlesbourgh vs chelsea.
and until now chelsea is still behind 1-0. even the championship division answer chelsea hassles. clearly shows the quality of chelsea is less able to compete in the premiere league. even though his player spending is crazy maybe because the price is overate and the coach is less able to build a team and buy players that fit his game scheme.
No one cares about Chelsea today, whatever the situation, they are always lost and lost. 400 million pounds just for landing on the 10th stand is shamed for clubs who have expensive players like Moises Caicedo, (115 pounds). 22 matches is a lot if Pochetino can't adapt yet, he look stuck and don't know what should he do to get win and delight fans. I think, with all the great players chelsea have, Chelsea must think about changing clever tactician asap, Pochetino is good, but in past, before everyone in premier league knew the tactics, today all premier club knows how to beat Pochetino tactics even chelsea have good defender and  midfielder.

What do you think?, Does Chelsea need to change coach?

Chelsea was not able to win the match against Middlesbrough. But I think that was expected from almost everyone. So I don't think it is going to make a lot of difference in the perspective for people.
That's obviously wrong. Chelsea won against preston with so many goal even though it was playing like shit at the first half but it was able making it at the second half. People were really surprising to see that a team that worth a billion must have lost with the garbage team from the lower division which is a very embarassing result. That is making many chelsea fans have blaffed with that result. Theorically, chelsea could win if it was using the usual strategy against middlesbrough but stupid pochettino was changing the strategy like an amateur coach.

And to be frank I do think that they need to change the coach. Because he is not bringing in the best results. He is not even bringing in the result that can be counted as average for Chelsea to be honest. Especially after spending so much money, they should be able to bring in far better results compared to what they are bringing in. so I don't think the authority is going to be happy with the coach. I think it is going to be better if they take a bold step and change the coach. Because I think they have tried everything with this coach and it is not working.
If chelsea keeps performing like shit then should not the club sack him out from chelsea? Pochettino was a disaster for the club and he brought the club to perform even worst than before. I can still appreciate the players but it's not for pochettino.
Sterling shall not be placed in the regular squad too. He was so dumb as a winger and so selfish. Chelsea was rarely giving pressure to the its opponents and it was always doing backpass and other shitty pass.

Chelsea really doesn't look like a team that has everything under control. But, thankfully there is a return of this game, they will play them again and they should try to win. It's obvious that they will end the season with a terrible result, there is absolutely nothing that could be possible to change, and I think that's the most important part.

I do agree that it is not going to be all that easy to handle, it is not that clear but we are going to end up with something one way or another. I believe that the best thing we could do at this point would be making sure that we are dealing with a Chelsea team that needs to figure out what's wrong. They still haven't figure that out, probably will fire the manager, but won't solve their issue.

That's an impressive record by Emery's Aston Villa. I can't remember the last time Emery guided a team for a such impressive continous performance, because I only remember that he got sacked at almost every club he managed. LoL. Their consistency, home win records, and ability to cause trouble for other teams have indeed been noteworthy. The unexpected nature of their success adds an exciting element to the competitive landscape of the league.

But I'm still doubting that they are able to compete for the title considering the competition at the to five is so tight, only six points gap between first and fifth position while Aston Villa currently is second. The Competition in the second half of the season will surely increase, especially with teams like Manchester City with their key players coming back from injuries likely to intensify their efforts to reclaim the top spot. The battle for top positions will undoubtedly be intense, and it will be fascinating to see how Aston Villa maintains their momentum and navigates the challenges ahead.
Emery is really doing pretty well with this Villa team,he’s managed to remain consistent especially at home. It’s been a while he’s achieved such feat with a football club and now. Now they’ve made the league quite competitive and dynamic. They can’t yet be defined as tirle contenders because they’ve not yet proved to be champions because they’re not yet winning consistently and away from home. Manchester City and Liverpool seem to be the only teams wanting the league seriously as the competition this second half will be fierce.

I would love to see how Villa will be able to pass through this storm to try and come out top, but it’ll be better they target top 4 than trying to go for the league because it seems pretty impossible, well nothing is impossible if Leicester could win the EPL title in the 2015/16 season then anyone can. However I don't see Villa having same team spirit like Leicester when they won they league so targeting top 4 is not a had idea, than chasing wild goose.

Snip.
The happenings in the English Premier League in the past two seasons is the reason why it's regarded as the strongest league in the world. It's a league whereby a team with limited number of quality and world class players surprises everyone by putting out good performances that'll see them finish in a better position than their supposed better teams.

Last season, we all saw as Newcastle United performed exceptionally well to finish the season in the top four of the league table ahead of clubs like Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur and this season, Aston Villa have been immensely impressive and of they can continue with their current performance, they'll surely finish the season in the top four. Teams like Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Chelsea will surely want to fight to finish in the top four of the league but I think Aston Villa have all it takes to remain in the top four till the end of the season
The Premier League has been considered the best league in the world for more than the last two seasons. The presence of top clubs there makes the Premier League very competitive. Many quality players have joined the Premier League with different clubs, their sharp and physical play makes the EPL increasingly attractive to players and very interesting to watch. There are always surprises every season, Leicester City managed to win the title race after beating other strong teams, after that Tottenham also tried to provide competition. Newcastle started to be taken into account last season, its continuously improving performance saw it manage to finish in the top four.

This season Aston Villa has spread threats, Unai Emery has succeeded in improving Aston Villa's performance with his experience in managing big teams. It takes consistency and always dominating the match to win the Premier League trophy, Liverpool is at the forefront of the title race, but surprises always happen because the League is very competitive.

Why a lot of us are still arguing about Chelsea's chances of eliminating Middlesbrough and progress to the final of the UEFA champions league competition is because Chelsea players especially Cole Palmer failed to convert their clear goalscoring chances that was created in first leg of the EFL Cup semi final game at Middlesbrough. Middlesbrough undoubtedly did their best but had Chelsea converted their chances in that game, it would've been more easier for them to reach the final of the EFL cup.

But that being said, I'm very optimistic that when Middlesbrough visit Chelsea for the second leg of the tie, they're surely gonna beaten by the blues with a better result than what they got in the first leg

Nkunku's injury, in my opinion, won't be as serious as that because, if it is, Chelsea's performance will suffer once more. The reason I say this is because, since Nkunku returned, Chelsea has been winning matches; Chelsea can't function without Nkunku because he can play any position up forward. That's why it's no surprise that Chelsea lost the ELF semifinal match; I've been thinking that Nkunkun's absence would have resulted in a draw rather than a victory over Chelsea.

Additionally, the Chelsea coach's starting lineup is not particularly strong, so why is he going to start Palmer as a centre forward when Jackson would be a better choice given Palmer's lack of skill at that position? Additionally, Broja is the player the coach will start the game with, which is another reason why the coaches are sometimes held accountable for the team's performance because they fail to take the necessary actions to improve the team's performance.

Nkunku is having a hip injury however thankfully it isn't a serious one. He is expected to return on January 26th. But in the meantime he will miss at least two games (vs Fulham and Middlesbrough both home). He is likely to miss the Aston Villa game in the FA Cup on January 27th also. But hopefully he can recover as soon as possible.

It is really stressful to be a fan of Chelsea in this league.  Sad  They just can't make any improvement for the last 2 seasons. Probably they will finish this season out of top 5 too. It would even be surprising for me if I see them finishing near top 5 in points. I think Boehly needs to step down from his seat because of bad management.
Yes, Mauricio Pochettino has emphasized that the injury suffered by Nkunku is not too serious so Chelsea are not too worried about the injury suffered by their player. Yes, it is possible that he will be absent for the next 2 or 3 matches because if he is too hasty to recover, it will make things worse. the condition of the injury he experienced. This is indeed unpleasant news for Chelsea as they are struggling to get back on their feet but they have to accept the fact that their players are injured, even though they are not too serious, Chelsea still have to think about it in the Premier League match which will be held this weekend.

Being a fan of a club, you must be prepared to accept that your favorite club experiences a decline which is caused by several factors, the lack of qualified players and the lack of the coach's ability to improve cooperation will reduce the quality of the club. And what Chelsea has experienced in the last 2 seasons is indeed worrying because this club finished in the place not a good ranking among mediocre clubs, and it is not impossible if Chelsea also ends this season in the same rank in the middle of the standings.

Chelsea... I just can't figure out what is going on with this team. If only they were more capable at finishing up their dangerous attacks with goals... I mean things would have been much better for them now. They had to move on with Jackson in the centre-forward position. This cost them really much truthfully because Jackson has been quite below the expectations.  Sad

7 goals in 19 PL matches. This isn't good statistics for a centre-forward if they are wasting many more opportunities to score meanwhile.

Nkunku is said to be injured once again. Hopefully it isn't another serious injury.

This is why the EPL league is so interesting to follow. Newcastle's phenomenal last season, Aston Villa's phenomenal season, two historic clubs. I also think with you, Aston Villa in my opinion securing the top four seems more realistic than becoming champion because it is very difficult, Liverpool and Man City are teams that have a strong mentality and can be consistent. Moreover, Man City, with the return of their star KDB, will certainly find it difficult to compete with them, even though in the previous match Aston Villa managed to beat Man City, but in my opinion, in the second match they will not be able to beat Man City a second time.

Aston Villa's next match is against Everton, this match can be said to be an even match but I am sure Aston Villa will not waste the opportunity to continue collecting three points in every match so that their position remains safe in second place in the EPL league. Even though this match will be played at Everton's home ground, I think Aston Villa will win this match.
Yes, I think Aston Villa don't have a winning mentality because their consistency is sometimes still unstable, the same goes for Arsenal who sometime play well but toward the end they also decline, and it seems like the strongest candidates to win the title this season seem to be only Liverpool and Manchester City. But this can still changes if that clubs cannot maintain its consistency, Manchester City will certainly be more confident because their important player have returned and of course this will be a big advantage for Manchester City to returned to fighting for the top position which is currently occupied by Liverpool.

If you looks at the statistical data of their meetings in the last few match, Aston Villa dominated the victory over Everton. In the away match Aston Villa can still beat Everton. So I think even though this is an away match, it is not a bigs problem for Aston Villa because they are quite strong this season to be able to wins every game.
The fact that they have it is the interesting part, like "how" do they have that? It doesn't really feel like they should, it's a weird feeling that they are having something like this, I feel like they are having a wonderful season, and Emery is a wonderful manager who has proven himself to be one of the best in this period, he is taking a team that is 8th in valuation to a place where they are second, and actually no joke they do have a chance to win the title.

I am not saying they will, but they do have that chance, and even the fact hat they "might" after the whole first half is over, is just a wonderful place to be for them, they shouldn't even be remotely anywhere close here, and that is why I think it's a great thing for them.

Losing Nkunku had a big impact on Chelsea's performance because Jackson was still playing below expectations. But I heard the news that Nkunku is definitely not injured for that long. This is certainly good news. Hopefully Nkunku can play against Middlesbrough in the second leg. If Jackson is played, I am pessimistic that Chelsea will be able to beat Middlesbrough to advance to the next round. He really couldn't replace Nkunku and I saw Chelsea had lots of chances in front of the Middlesbrough goal but only made 5 shots on target.

Seven goals that something better than Manchester United Marcus Rashford who's always on the wing dragging and begging for ball rather than making good runs in the eighteen yard box!

Anyways, Nicholas Jackson poor ASF, he shouldn't be used as nine and not even Broja deserves it. They know what to do, they're only been recalcitrant and adamant.

Mauricio Pochetino also should have a hand in this deal, he should be dropped if he doesn't send them upwards.
Nothing too serious, I read it has something to do with his hip.
