Liverpool now greatly impacted their title run with the loss of yesterday.I thought at the worst case they would get a draw but they were defeated and they couldn’t score a goal when they had all the second half of the game at their disposal.Let’s see how it unfolds this beautiful Premier League season.

We have clear rules for situations like these, it is not a referee's choice anymore, it is a handball in the box and it is a penalty. 100 out of 100 times. OK, 99 out of 100 because, well, Andre Marriner.
That is the reason I hate VAR more and more. You see the situation 20 times in slow motion and from all angles and there seems that decision is clear and then ref decides opposite. And the worst thing is that those decisions somehow always go against what you desire. If I had money on Southampton to keep clean sheet that would have been a penalty 100%.

OK, Liverpool did not play well and Southampton deserved something out of that game. Ings scored a great goal, they defended good enough after that, Liverpool had to do better.

But the thing I'm furious about is the clear and obvious handball that should have been given after Wijnaldum's shot. I think of myself as a rational person, I'll accept that we weren't good enough, but what I'd really like to hear is an explanation as to why that penalty was not given yesterday.

@Yogee while the draws did allow Manchester United to catch up to Liverpool, but I feel that Pogba also had a big hand in Manchester United’s revival.
I wouldn't argue on that as it's everyone's responsibility to perform well and help the team they signed with to win games.

Furthermore I feel that Ole should prioritise premier league title, over other cup competitions because Manchester United have an excellent chance of winning the league title.
Agreed. It's the biggest trophy after all besides Champions League but we all know they're out of that competition. Ole will most likely use some of the reserves and give chance to other non-starters when they face Watford. I don't know how he'll approach the EFL Cup as it's also a matter of pride not to lose badly against their rival.

LFC vs. West Brom - Draw
Newcastle vs. LFC - Draw
Southampton vs. LFC - LFC

Three consecutive bad results allowed Man United to catch up with one game in hand. They will most likely top the league when they visit Burnley on the 13th but it won't be that easy as they take on Man City [EFL Cup] and Watford [FA Cup] prior to that. Hopefull no major injuries before facing Liverpool on Matchday 19.

Aside from Wolves having a tie with brighton (which was at brighton so not really too much shock) all games that favorites played were won by favorites of that game. This week has been really great, I wasn't expecting it but it was great. City is doing a lot better than their start, they had a very bad start to the season but recovered, still getting some ties here and there but they are getting wins too so I think they are going to challenge higher once again the more games are played.

This season is really fun to watch, nobody is that far head on points yet, and doubt it would be too far ahead, teams are close points against each other at the top and all top five teams are really good teams, they can all fight for a title this year, obviously Liverpool has more chances and they look better but they all look like they may have a shot at the cup.

WTF I can't believe it, Liverpool lost and Manchester is now 1st and they can go +3.
Who would have thought at the start of the season a thing like this?

WHOA.
it really was unexpected to see Manchester United to be on top of the leader board, Liverpool was unlucky today, and a penalty have been taken away from them and it was at the first minutes of the 2nd half, which could have changed a lot in this game, even with "VAR" and things like this still happen.
Most expectation for Manchester United fans because if they can get point next match automatically Manchester United on the first standing position right now, just Liverpool fans hope for Liverpool fans but looks not possible because Burnley is not enough to make Manchester United failed to get three points from Manchester United, become good day for Ole because the first time he can give fist position standing for Manchester United.

Manchester United has left one game, if they succeed in winning, they can rise to the top position.

What a nightmare. Manchester needs to lose. They can't win.
Pogba needs to leave this January.

What's about Donny Van De Beek? He never plays...

Liverpool losing 1 nil away at southampton means that Manchester united can go top of the league for the first time (after 17 games) since the 2012/2013 season if they beat Burnley in their game in hand. Beautiful premier league season.

The worst match since the beginning of the season was presented by Liverpool today, in its loss to Southampton. Spacing in lines, weak pressure, disorganized and disorganized, inability to create opportunities, ease in penetrating his defense.

Southampton coach Ralph Hasenhatel's tears summarize the importance of the points he sought and reaped after he studied his opponent and mastered in killing the keys to his danger and exploiting his weaknesses.

Manchester_United If he wins in the England derby against Liverpool, and in his postponed match, he will be in the lead by a full 6 points !!! How great is football in its secrets, surprises and ups . Why did we watch this poor version of Liverpool today ??

Not only you surprised by Liverpool's defeat, I am sure that no one would expect Southampton to win the match. Indeed, this season the Premier
League has too many surprises, therefore my betting results have failed a lot. It is true that Manchester United has left one game, if they succeed
in winning, they can rise to the top position. Or it could be Manchester City, which has two matches left to be the top position if it manages to win
two matches, and if Manchester United fail to get 3 points. It's very interesting competition this season in the Premier League.

Dream on about LFC losing this one Grin they got most of their best men back from injury for this game and even though Southampton has a 1 goal lead and are playing home, Liverpool's having a recent history of ending their matches 1 - 1 so all it takes is a little determination from Salah or Firmino to level the game.
Should I continue dreaming on, or I can stop now?  Cheesy

By the way Liverpool still tops the table as of now. Both teams have 33 points but Goal difference separates them
Liverpool:
Goals scored: 37 Goals Conceded: 21 Goal difference: +16

Manchester United:
Goals scored: 33 Goals Conceded: 24 Goal difference: +9

Am sorry for being a sadist buddy, but I want Liverpool to lose this match while United win against Burnley. This would mean that Manchester United would top the table and guess who their next opponents would be? Liverpool at Anfield Grin
It would be an epic match!!!

(to the saints' credit, they are defending really well denying Liverpool a lot of scoring opportunities)

Manchester City got a very clear win against Chelsea yesterday evening. Honestly, I didn't expect a match like this. After having a really bad form, I expected Chelsea wouldn't lose their home match against M. City. I am aware of M. City being so powerful of course. M. City erased them in the first half already. Chelsea still can't pull themselves together.

And I had Chelsea vs Man City at outcomes 1 - 2 or 1 - 3, sadly I did not bet on any of those and chose to take under 3.5 goals. I was right about Chelsea being lackluster but Man City surely looks hungry.

What some of us were worried about is happening right now, Southampton is leading with 1 eaaarly goal, the first half is almost finished and LFC didn't made a single shot on target. That's really bad. If this happens to be the final score then LFC can be passed by both Manchester's teams if they win their lacking games comparing to Liverpool...
