It's still too early to be talking about the permanent Bale deal. He played only a few games, looked better than I expected but the teams he played against were mostly bottom-table PL clubs and some barely known European teams.

I assume that Spurs will go for him, but if they do both him and Real will have to settle for less than expected. Levy is one of the toughest negotiators and with both Moura and Bergwijn already at the club he will either get him on the cheap or not at all.

Do any of you think that Bale has somewhat become worse in recent years? He scored about a dozen goals in almost each season during 2013-2018. Suddenly he's putting out only 2 goals last year, which sounds like the reason Real sent him on loan in the first place. I don't think this is the kind of player that Spurs wants to keep forever.

He also got an injury this year that made him miss 11 games in the span of 37 days.

He was out of plan of Zidane after his 2 goals in the Champions League final match with Liverpool. In the summer transfer season after that match, Bale wanted to leave and almost left the club. At the end, he stucked in Bernabeu and was out of the squad. Golf is his life after that and in last 2 seasons. What Real and Zizou did show that they did not respect one of their greatest players. Bale reacted badly later but I can understand why Bale did so.

I think the loan deal they got him on was ludicrous and was practically a transfer in all but name. It wasn't a good deal at all. They should have waited for his contract to expire and got him for free though I get the feeling Mourhinio doesn't have time to waste. I certainly don't think they should be paying anything to sign him permanently when they can get him for free if they wait. There's no way he's going back to Real that's for sure.
Real and Zizou don't need Bale and you are totally right that loan deal and free transfer is best for Spurs. I was surprised when I saw the news.

Although Bale had played for Tot for 6 years from 2007 to 2013, I guess he still need time to adapt and get use to this place. He had many extraodinary seasons with Real Madrid. Since Zidane did not want to use him anymore (most of the time he was on the bench whcih prevent him from scoring), his performance goes down really fast. Time will heal this man cause he is quite a big player. Mourinho understands what to do with his chess. This coach only makes a few mistake on the transfer market
Bale simply fits with Mourinho speedy counter-attacking tactics. He only needs to train more and get his physical fitness back.

The competition at Real Madrid is so tight that Gareth Bale continues to be on the bench because Zidane knows who to play in his first team, with this move to Tottenham of course reminiscing about the past before whether it will repeat itself with Gareth Bale's previous performances? Now that Bale is 31 years old here is old in my opinion so his appearance will decline a little with these conditions, if Mourinho continues to try to rely on Bale's daru wing with these adaptations it can restore his appearance.
Gareth Bale has loss zidane trust in Real Madrid in my opinion not about the priority of the main squad but he has personal problems with Zidane that's why he played less and more often on the bench,
in His current age 31 years does not give a big picture that his performance will decline or worsen, do you see zlatan, at the age of 39 he remains a deadly predator in front of the opponent's goalpost.
I believe if he continues to be played and his career that has been dimmed all this time, his performance will return to the same as when he was with  Spurs.

It was a great match. Aston Villa played incredibly. But Arsenal players were very much disappointed with their performance. After the match, Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta said, "The way we lost today really hurts".
Arteta needs to fix the inconsistency in his team if they are to improve and maybe challenge for the epl title in the coming seasons, they can't go from beating united to losing to Aston villa, of course villa have been in great form this season, even scoring 7 against the defending champions Liverpool, but Arsenal need to be consistent as without that a team can't win the premier league, no doubt Arteta is already doing a good job at the Emirates, but clearly there is more work to be done to transform Arsenal into EPL champions.
Unless Zidane is no longer the manager of the team and Bale overall performance dropping with spurs.
Even if Zidane is no longer manager, I don't think Bale can ever play for Real again, imo, he was treated terribly bad by Zidane as that's no way to get a player out of your plans/team; Bale is either going to make it in Spurs or finally move to another team, but definitely not back to Real Madrid.

so they might as well try recoup some of the ludicrous wages they're paying him to keep the bench warm or play golf.
Let me fix it h&co: "keep the bench warm while trolling and mocking his teammates or playing golf".
His attitude was rude but Real Madrid was in fault too... Hope he can find his skills again in soccer and not forgetting how to play golf at the same time --->Roll Eyes<---

Maurinho has to do everything within his power to ensure Bale stays in the Spurs team as he seems very much like the best man for the team. He's already doing well with the team and have a few goals already.

Great player but his age, wages & struggles to keep fit make him an unattractive PERMANENT transfer. He’s great to have on loan for a season though.

After being frustrated by Zidane in Madrid, Bale was almost  in a  verge to sign a contract with a Chinese club in 2019, he had already fallen out of favor with his manager then, fortunately injury hit Madrid had no option than to keep him,  I believed Zidane is trying to inject fresh and young players into the team thus allowing few old players to leave, mourinho will definitely get the best out of bale after -all he is not a stranger to the team, this is the second coming  of Bale having play his debut match for the team in 2007,  Tottenham having the trio of Kane, Son, Bale in their attack will surely make a difference for the club.

I don't know, when you have a player like Bale on your squad, you do not really care about his contract as much as you care about the team and the future. Sure he is paid hefty but he is going to finish his contract anyway and if you show him that you like him enough to pay for him to Madrid, he will consider you as the first option as well, and we know he likes in Spurs and he likes playing there as well.

This only shows that dude would probably get a big pay cut, not only because he likes the club but everyone knows he doesn't worth big money anymore. I would say getting him and paying him lower for a longer contract at the same time would cost Spurs a lot of money for once, but they will be doing fine for like at least 5+ years and that is something teams can't pass up.

Tottenham and Mourinho have been escalating their progress to make a permanent transfer for Bale from Real Madrid. The bad performance of Lucas Moura and Delle Alli since this season's beginning and the efforts and positive mentality of Bale make them think Bale 9 will be a good player for Spurs. Bale slowly gets his fitness back and I wish he will get in a good form soon.

How can you score goals when he didn't even make the bench half of the time? Real Madrid were foolish to not utilise him when he was fit and Zidane not even having him on the bench when he was available was silly. They only loaned him out because Zidane made it publicly clear he wasn't in his plans so they might as well try recoup some of the ludicrous wages they're paying him to keep the bench warm or play golf.

Arsenal and Aston Villa match was breathtaking for the football lovers. It was exciting and entertaining. But on the other hand, it was disappointing for Arsenal fans as Arsenal lost that match. Aston Villa's score was 3, but it was unfortunate that Arsenal scored nothing.
Inside the opening minute, Grealish cut into the box and found McGinn with a cut back and the Scot found the top left corner with a hammer of a finish. Leno was nowhere near the ball but felt his vision was impeded by Barkley. After much complaining, VAR took a look and advised Martin Atkinson to do the same on the pitchside monitor. After a long wait, the referee disallowed the goal. Grealish and Barkley then started to play confidently. But it was unfortunate that Bukayo Saka unintentionally redirected the ball into his own net from a cross after a nice bit of build up play from Villa. Villa continued to look like the better side as the second half started and were eventually awarded for their dominance with a pair of goals from Ollie Watkins to extend their lead to three and put the match away.
Arsenal shotted 13 goals and on the other hand Villa shotted 15 goals on the goal post. Arsenal fouled 11 times and Villa fouled 13 times. No team got red or yellow cards.
It was a great match. Aston Villa played incredibly. But Arsenal players were very much disappointed with their performance. After the match, Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta said, "The way we lost today really hurts".

I think very interesting.  The 3-point difference can be easily covered.  It's a complicated season.  Leicester could be 6 at a time.  The Premier League will be very exciting this year.

Premier League is only on its 8th round so there isnt any major difference in points yet. One lose would end up making those team out of the top 4 spot so pretty much anything can still happen at this early stage

Correct, there isn't much difference between teams in 1-15th position currently. Couple of mess up in 3-4 rounds for a team can make the clear way for later teams to climb up the ladder or go past them. Below 15 are Birghton, Fulham, West Brom, Burnley, Sheffield which are clearly struggling so far.

Tottenham and Mourinho have been escalating their progress to make a permanent transfer for Bale from Real Madrid. <...>
His contract expires next year. In fact, he could negotiate a new contract with another team in the next transfer window since he'll be a free agent in 2021. It's very likely that he'll reach an agreement with Spurs to lower his wages, then they'll have to negotiate a fee with Real Madrid and it's a done deal. He'll definitely be a Tottenahm player next season.

Glad for Bale to be back at team where he is finding good amount of playing minutes. He clearly doesn't have future at Madrid and Madrid also wants to get rid of Bale. Bale to Tottenham seems like a likely thing to happen.

However, there's chance that Tottenham wont be among clubs that will fall away during the mid of this season through the end cause they are planning to get a player that will somehow help the team

Who would that player be? Somehow there is rumours that Tottenham might try to get Bale on permanent transfer and if they do then they will spend a fortune for him. Bale could be a good choice but only if he could keep up with the premier league pace but from what I've seen, he is no longer the same beast as few years ago

8th matchday is over but Leicester still on the lead, however they had relatively easy opponent (Wolves which is in the middle of the tabble)
We can see only 3points gap between top1 and top6, and sixth Aston Villa has one match less played. Very interesting season!

The title will go to Man City or Liverpool, it is only 8 games into the season. Most seasons there are one or two teams who start well but collapse as we get into mid season onwards. I expect Leicester & Tottenham to fall away.
You make a good point about the teams that usually start the season well but later loose their potential and thirst for winning as the tournament proceed but I dont think Man City will hold this season title. However, there's chance that Tottenham wont be among clubs that will fall away during the mid of this season through the end cause they are planning to get a player that will somehow help the team
