The title will go to Man City or Liverpool, it is only 8 games into the season. Most seasons there are one or two teams who start well but collapse as we get into mid season onwards. I expect Leicester & Tottenham to fall away.

Well, you can't ignore the Mourinho factor in Tottenham.  Cheesy He knows very well how to play on the result. They play good under Pochettino, now with Bale, they have more options, plus experienced manager.
I am not sure whether Liverpool can withstand the loss of another key player like VVD. I think Mane's form is very important to them and if he's not good, it will reflect his results.
Both team Liv and ManCity currently have very poor defence and it will be hard to play against counterattack teams. there will be a lot of lost points.

Liverpool v Leicester City is the Match that will tell us if Leicester can compete till the end of the season.
Sure they can, but they need more players like Jamie Vardy and some luck with injuries.
I remember following them last year and they did very good, finished 5th but they even had chance to finish on 4th place for Champions League.
Liverpool is huge favorite in this match, and odds are low on them, but anything is possible, and I would be happy with a draw.

It seems like this will be another disappointing and horrible season for Arsenal fans to endure as Aston Villa could even managed to score 3 goals against Arsenal in their last match. With only 4 wins out of 8 games played, I believe there is a high chance Arsenal will not be able to compete for a spot on the table to qualify for the Uefa Champions League next season.

Arteta will need some time to create a team capable of competing at the top. He deserves the time to create something special, fans will have to be patient, it won’t be a smooth ride.

Most chances this will happen as they will not able to qualify for Champions League this season again even they have some quality players they have still too many issues and its not new all they need some good time for settling things and hopefully if Arteta will be here for some more time then they will able to improve in next few years.

The league will settle after a hectic schedule over Xmas & New Year. I think you’re right, Spurs may last up there a little longer but they have a tough run of fixtures coming. The title will be mainly contested between Man City & Liverpool when the business end of the season arrives.
That's how it should be, City and Liverpool are currently the two best teams in the land and as much as I want to believe the title is between the both of them, I just can't for now, no team is particularly spectacular and no team looks heads and shoulders above the rest, just look at how many goals city have scored thus far, it's simply poor, we've been waiting for them to pickup, but it's eight games played already and they are yet to start looking like title contenders imo.

City play spurs after the international break, that game is a must-win for Manchester City, if Mourinho can win this match, then he can start to believe that he and his spurs team actually have a chance of winning the title, Mou is a multi time epl winner and the way this season is going, I wouldn't count spurs out just yet.

I agree Manchester City's form so far has been very poor, During the 8 matches that have been run by Manchester City, they cannot convince
that they are title contenders. And next Manchester City will face Tottenham, it's a very interesting game. Because this match really determines
whether Manchester City is still worthy of being title contenders or not, therefore Manchester City must prove in a way they have to win against
Tottenham. Then for Tottenham if they manage to win against Manchester City, they can have a chance to win the title this season.

8th matchday is over but Leicester still on the lead, however they had relatively easy opponent (Wolves which is in the middle of the tabble)
We can see only 3points gap between top1 and top6, and sixth Aston Villa has one match less played. Very interesting season!

I doubt that this is any boring compared to that. I still think if you are watching for the title race you are going to get bored and that is easy to do, if you look at Liverpool and if you look at the first place, you know there are not that many competition going on there.

However if you start to look at who goes to Europe this year, who will be in top 6 that becomes a lot more entertaining, every year that could change drastically, or maybe stay the same but feels like it could change and that brings a lot of joy which means there are more places to check to see. Plus if you check the relegation zone as well, that is added bonus, last year Watford went down under with just one loss, if they got a win, they would have been still here, many things like that happens too.

.....in the upper part, Leicester, Southampton and Tottenham have three wins in a row, and that put them on the top, probably that will not last for all of them

I expect the same too. City current situation will not last long before finding their rhythm again although my projection for now are somewhere between 2-5  unless a total failure from LFC that will allow them to fight for the first spot. Leicester and Chelsea will be somewhere in that ranking too. Spurs will be kicked from the top 4 unless a catastrophic failure of the all previous teams lol. Villa is mysterious right now, kind of joker Wink

It wasn't just the defense, all front three lacked confidence as well. Arteta keeps experimenting with the defense but he's scared to drop Auba, Laca and Willian [they've been underperforming for the past few games].

Totally, they have been missing some real golden chances. I think Arteta shoudl try some other combinations in between like bringing in Nketiah or say Nicolas Pepe for a change in wing and strike keeping Aubameyang in playing. They didn't performed that bad but that was an easy game for them against Villa. He only keeps on changing defensive and midfield formation- either its gonna be 4 defenders , 3 midfielders or 3 defenders 4mids.  He has to step up and try changing the attack line formation a bit. And they can try out changing in Europa league matches now that they are leading their group.

We hope it does settle between that time because, the ups and downs is just too much. Lots of teams have sat on the table for a while now and I don't see how another team isn't going to seat right there for a while anytime soon.

On the contest for the title, I would have loved it even more if you could just take out Manchester City and insert Chelsea in that spot as Manchester City keeps falling down the EPL table and it's going to take a lot to bring them up, not just on there side but, they've got to be hoping that Chelsea meets a lot of difficulty with series of bad games which is very unlikely compared to how they started and now, they've picked up the pace.

i would say that only at the bottom situation is expected

I'd say the same thing. One thing that's quite surprising though is just how low the points totals are for those teams: 3, 2 and 1 for the bottom 3. As a rough approximation, they've played 1/5 of their total league games this season. If we extrapolate based on performance so far, they'd finish on 15, 10 and 5 points for the whole season. Whilst the rest of the teams have been inconsistent, those at the bottom have been consistently bad.

there is much to see from this table, since it is pretty unexpected after first eight rounds, i would say that only at the bottom situation is expected and Fulham, West Brom and Burnley are already close to relegation, think that Sheffield and Brighton will stay above the line at the end, and all other teams are better than those five

in the upper part, Leicester, Southampton and Tottenham have three wins in a row, and that put them on the top, probably that will not last for all of them

If we look at the standings we only see that from the “top four” only Liverpool is in a good position with Chelsea following a bit down. This year we are going to have a great season in the Premier League and we will not see only a single team leading with a big amount of points difference.
I'm sure Chelsea will also catch up...
The 'big four' seems to have started to fade. btw, Chelsea has risen to rank 5 and for sure they will last until this season is over.

I don't know what else to say, Arsenal's performance is really starting to decline, Aston Villa has made a wound in the hearts of Arsenal fans.

i'm totally fine with the win  Cheesy I backed Spurs (even though they're a toss-up almost every week) in a single bet [asian handicap -1 at 1.78 odds], and good thing Kane scored, means i got my stake back, stake that i will probably not place on any Spurs bet slips until next year lol

didn't watch City - Liverpool, but from what i'm reading on social media, 2nd half was kind of a borefest? i guess both squads are pretty tired right now, you usually expect high intensity from both teams :/

Arsenal - A Villa...i predicted a 3-0 Gunners win in the btctalk pool...huge chance for arsenal to jump to the top 6, leggo Gunners!

I have to agree here and of course as a Spurs fan,,, I am totally happy with the result. 3 points is always preferable to any type of game, I am sick of playing well and then losing points (I do not want to remember 3-3 results no matter how exciting).

London teams are really not doing well these few seasons I have to say.
