The Manchester City coach is a person who is quite observant in seeing the condition of the team he coaches so that he will not even be so worried about the defeat because it can also be used as a lesson to make more meaningful improvements for the team before the new season starts. However, friendly matches must also be considered important by each team because from these matches each coach can see which lines still have weaknesses so that they can all act immediately to improve the things that are still weak now.
Before drawing conclusions about this match, look at the lineups that these teams played. In this match, Guardiola wanted to see what the young players were capable of, so I am not surprised by this result. This is what friendly matches are for, when you can evaluate a player in a real match, and not in training. On the other hand, even with this squad they were able to show a very close game, so despite the defeat, I think that Guardiola can assess this result as satisfactory, except that there are complaints about the defensive players.
Only training will not make you know the weakness in your team, this is why after training the players and coach comes to the field to exercise what they have learnt to see how the coach can work on improving the game tactics due to some laxity in the players. This is why you see that most coaches always give their young players the opportunity to play in friendly matches so that they can evaluate their performance.

I don't think that it is important for any coach to win their friendly matches, if not moat coaches will not take the match unserious. Every coach is looking up on how they can win their real matches and friendly matches is not their concern, because they use them for experiments.

So for me, I will certainly place arteta over ETH. if there are any magic ETH wants to perform, let him do it this coming season.

Coaches can always make confident sentences. Ten Hag seems to want to make an opinion to Man United supporters, he is the right choice for Man United. Of course, with the achievement statistics I get, I think Arteta is a little better at the moment. Although this season Man United got 1 FA Cup. But in the current game conditions, Arsenal is better than Man United. But indeed, in the end, the cup is indeed the main goal of the team.

In fact, Erik ten Hag is a coach who does not accept being blamed because after all, from several defeats obtained by Manchester United, Erik ten Hag also blames the performance of players more often. Therefore, the reality is that Erik ten Hag always wants to be considered perfect, despite the fact that there are many mistakes made by Erik ten Hag such as the choice of purchasing players and also players who were discarded before.

Thus, I think Erik ten Hag does not have a good attitude as a manager. Because after all, as a manager also has the right to admit his mistakes and there is no need to be prestigious to admit mistakes. But if we compare Erik ten Hag with Arteta even though Arsenal didn't get the trophy but anyway, at least Arteta managed to make Arsenal have a more consistent performance compared to Manchester United.

Yeah, we've said it several times that preseason games are test of tactics and of course to get the players fit for the season about to start. Guardiola only feature two senior players in the line up if I'm not mistaken. Haaland and Grealish were the only players from the first squad while the rest were the upcoming young talents that he wants to test their stand. The match wasn't too bad but truth be told, City defense was very porous devoid of any tactics. I don't want to criticize based on that result because I know on a norms we would have seen a great performance other than that even if the game would end in defeat. It is less than a month now for the new season to begin and I believe a lot of improvement will be done in the areas of their lapses.
Manchester City defeat in the friendly match must still be taken seriously by Guardiola, because in fact the squad they have is still of better quality than Celtic players, guardiola fielded the majority of young players in that match  but we can confirm that the players are actually is the best young players chosen by Guardiola to fill their line up in the pre-season match, in this case I don't think it matters who Guardiola uses, but with a better strategy Manchester City young squad should be able to produce better results in that match.
indeed we can't use a friendly match as a reference to see the capacity of a team, but actually a friendly match should be an opportunity for young players to show their quality in front of the coach, so I think every young player who played in that match actually gave their all the best but may be hampered by the strategy implemented by Guardiola in that match.

Comparing Arteta and Eric ten hang is not something we should do in a haste. We should first of all understand where these two coaches are coming from and the duration they have handled their respective clubs. If you can remember some seasons ago it was between Arteta and Ole. While Arsenal had confidence in Arteta and gave him time to excel, Manchester United was so impatient and dismissed Ole. But today Arteta has gained his ground in Arsenal while Manchester United is still doubtful about Eric 10. The difference is that Arsenal trusts Arteta for all his decisions while Manchester United does not trust a Erik10.

If you are talking about the quality of play in each club, you will agree with me that Arteta is better than Erik10. But when you talk about the achievement of the coaches, you have to give it to Erik10. So, choose your best among them.

This is the fifth year running that Manchester City has dominated the EPL. Pep Guardiola has dominated over every single manager in the EPL including Jurgen Klopp, Mikel Arteta and others. But Erik Ten Hag sees things differently, he says Pep Guardiola is the only manager to have won more trophies than him in recent times. In the past two years where ETH has been Manchester United’s manger, he’s had two trophies to show in his acquisition. But by the standard of Manchester United, this shouldn’t be something to brag about. They have fallen down the pecking order. Manchester United Standard should be competing for league dominance and fighting for UEFA Champions league.

Looking at the stats and the performance of Manchester United in the last two seasons. Do you think Erik Ten Hag has bragging rights?

Come to think of it ETH is right, since he came to the EPL no manager have won any trophy that Man City are also competing and he has been the second best, where we have Arteta, Klopp and the others, you see him getting a trophy out of the two coaches so why are we saying he isn't the second best? Fine Manchester United haven't been pretty good but let's give the man some credit for the little he has done with the side by winning something no matter how small it is and some would want ETH to win the EPL title but he can't win it because they're not up to that level.
What ETH said was the truth here.  Ten Hag counted it since he came to United, and it's not about overall performance. Ten Hag won two trophies in his two seasons at Manchester United. Arteta and Klopp are tied for third with one trophy each. Arteta won 1 Community Shield and Klopp 1 Carabao Cup. It makes sense for Ten Hag to claim he's the best after Pep Guardiola. He did not count the overall performance, and It was only since 2022/2023. Ten Hag is now rebuilding his club seriously. We may see Manchester United come back to compete with City and Arsenal for the EPL trophy.

ETH should cut us some slack, he hasn't really shown too much of excellence to pride himself to be the second best after pep guardiola, the aesthetics of his overall performance for last season and the season before doesn't place him above Mikel arteta, we respect the fact that he won the 2023/2024 FA cup which gave him the leverage to qualify for the Europa league next season, meanwhile Mikel arteta is competing on a higher ground in the champions league. So for me, I will certainly place arteta over ETH. if there are any magic ETH wants to perform, let him do it this coming season.

But on a serious note I understand that all the Manchester United fans including me expects to see more from Erik Ten hag but that doesn't mean he shouldn't praise him self a little for the works he has done so far since arriving at old trafford.

Considering the statement he made to be the second best coach in EPL after Pep Guardiola, you can go ahead and argue with anyone from now till the end of the month I think he's saying nothing but the truth, Arsenal has been competing in the English Premier League along side with Manchester City for two seasons now yet they have got no trophies to show for it likewise their performance in the champions league they have no trophy, Erik Ten hag has not won the English Premier League since his arrival but he has qualified the team to the champions League despite not winning the trophy and last season the team were poor in performance but they were still able to qualify to Europa League and they won the FA cup but what did Arsenal and Arteta achieved last season if not the champions league qualification slot that they are sure of not winning next season? do you now understand and believe that Ten hag has a good reason to brag check the records for further arguments.

My eyes can't see this wrong, right? It's not a matter of a draw in normal time but everything has to be decided by a penalty shootout in the pre-season match between Arsenal and Bournemouth and this really invites laughter. Cheesy

It is not surprising that pre-season matches will always be boring and there will be no excitement even though the favorite team is the favorite and like other top EPL teams, Arsenal also find it quite difficult to win. Bournemouth, who will still participate in the EPL next season, is taking this opportunity to find out how to stop Arsenal when they face each other in an official match later. Well, in the end Arsenal won very narrowly on penalties and at least they had to immediately improve their game.
I'm starting to get used to the results of pre-season matches which often feature the favorite team losing. And today even the two favorite teams only got a draw, namely Arsenal, who only managed to get a draw in the pre-season match against Bournemouth in normal time but both teams tried a penalty shootout and the result was that Arsenal won in the penalty shootout. Then Chelsea also got a draw in the pre-season match against Wrexham. And this was Enzo's first debut as a coach there and for several young players who had just arrived at the club. Even though the result was a draw, I saw that Chelsea played very well.

Honestly, some preseason matches are always boring. It is always clear that whenever an average or weak team plays against a strong team, the match tends to be boring. It was not actually surprising that Arsenal drew in a 90-minute game with Bournemouth. Currently, Bournemouth is a Premier League competitor, and I didn't really expect them to take the match lightly with Arsenal. That's exactly what they showed. The truth about Bournemouth is that they are hard to beat sometimes despite being considered a weaker team. We noticed their performance in last season's Premier League.

One thing in football is that surprising things can happen, even in regular competitions, not just in preseason matches. Weak teams can beat strong teams. So, Bournemouth drawing against Arsenal is a normal outcome to me. At least Arsenal has won one of their preseason matches. Let's see how they will play against stronger teams like Manchester United and others.

To some extent, I wasn't expecting Celtic to play Manchester City youth with such seriously; even in the first go, the Celtics scored due to open defense because the game was friendly. I appreciate how Pep Deed is trying to bring out the best in the young players. makes us aware of the majority of the small errors that could end up costing us a lot when the season really begins. Occasionally, the majority of these players die from overconfidence. Examine Haaland's second effort. It was absurd. The goalkeeper parried what would have been a flawless goal. What more will Order clubs come up with if Celtic can play Manchester City like this? I'm not worried, but am I astonished, since even if they might start out strong, you end up screwing up, so the question is how long they can maintain such a high level of performance. And what Pep  did Was amazing using all the players to play a real game aside training shows that pep is actually a smart man.

I wanted to say because it was friendly but even though was it shouldn't have to be this way, no single big chances created by Arsenal this is so bad, take for instance Bayern Munich that played 14 - 1 despite the win I wasn't happy with them because this is not their first time of playing and they do scored below 20 goals, yeah we can compare Bournemouth and that club because Bournemouth is also a first class club presently in Champions league, but Arsenal should have try more than that, next time they will be meet with Bournemouth they will find it difficult to win because they know how strong arsenal is and they will be fully prepare to take them down.

The squad that Guardiola fielded was predominantly filled with young players, so this defeat cannot be considered a negative result because Guardiola assessed this result from a different angle. It has become a habit for coaches to always give opportunities to young players when playing in pre-season tour matches. Guardiola, who is known to be very good at developing the abilities of young players, will use pre-season matches to assess the abilities of his players.

In this match there were two young players who really stood out compared to the other players. Rico Lewis and Oscar Bobb are showing very good performances, he will certainly get more playing opportunities during pre-season. Guardiola will not mind this defeat because this is a test match before the official match starts, maybe there will be another surprise after the pre-season ends, Guardiola will promote young players to the first team because their performances are above average.

Enzo Fernandez after winning the Copa America with his national team Argentina posted a video on his social media account which appeared to be racist chants that targeted France national team players, the video drew criticisms from many especially from France internationals and some even had to unfollow him on social media. However, he has publicly apologized since fbe incident happened and today, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca as well as the captain Reece James in their interview has disclosed that Enzo Fernandez will be accepted back to the team when he rejoins with the squad after his summer holiday. It's a good news for Chelsea fans if you ask me but Fernandez who have been forgiven by all must be careful of his actions going forward so that  people don't see him as a racist

A lot of things do not surprise me anyone. I still remember people who defended the former president of the Spanish football federation after he had the controversy over kissing one of the players in the Spanish national team after they won the Women's World Cup.

Likewise I see people trying to defend the song. Then again Enzo is not the first player to have made some kind of racial slur. Luis Suárez, John Terry have had some racial issues in the past and they survived it with their career intact. Enzo Fernandez has made a public apology and I think with the right PR, his career may be able to survive this.

Maybe for some teams it's an indicator to win a preseason game, but I think it's just to appease themselves, nothing more. For serious teams, it's a chance to release those players that the coaches will definitely not release in EPL matches, because every match is important there and a mistake by a young player can cost a defeat in the end. So the appearance of new players today is a good sign
I am not surprised by the result of the match. Manchester City losing a pre-season match doesn’t mean anything, it doesn’t mean that Manchester City won’t be performing well when the season starts. We all know that most clubs won’t be making use of their main squad in pre-season matches, they do make use of the players that they are always keeping as reserves, so we can’t conclude how a club will perform when the season starts. But I am still expecting Manchester City to perform well when the season starts, we shouldn’t start concluding that there is a drop in their performance just because of the pre-season match.

I don't think, this defeat will move any Manchester city fans, because they know what Manchester city can do when the premier league competition and other competition start, and they will still going to display well next season. That is the strategy many managers are using in this pre-season matches, because that is the best way to test their new players or to allow the players they always bench in some matches to showcase their talents for their managers to know how good they are in this summer season, which is what Manchester city manager did in this pre-season match. As long Manchester city manager is still with Manchester city in this season till next season, they will still get it right next season, because he know what to do to correct the mistakes of his players in this pre-season matches for them to perform well when tournament start.
Except I did place a bet in this game thinking Man City would be victorious, I don`t see any reason to bother myself about  the outcome since I know this is just pre-season matches it doesn`t really count and from the fact that we know how consistent City as always been when the league begins.
Liverpool and Man United lost their first Pre-season while Arsenal and Chelsea end up with a draw though Arsenal won by penalty shoot-out.

Indeed, since the beginning of Ten Hag's arrival as Manchester United coach, he has been too self-confident and very, very excessive. After 2 seasons, we see that there has been no progress in this team, which has increased sharply since it was built by Ten Hag. In fact, there has been no progress when compared to Arsenal, which was built by Arteta.
What Ten Hag said was without basic evidence, he only said it to increase his self-confidence, actually there was nothing wrong with that, but many people didn't like his attitude like that.

I think next season will be the last season for Ten Hag if he doesn't succeed in lifting Manchester United's performance, next season will be the last chance for him.
I don't know what will happen, but I'm a little pessimistic about it.

What combination of garbage is this please? You don't want him to be confident or what are you saying? Are you such a weak man in reality?
What is your definition of progress? Take a look back two seasons before Erik Ten Hag came and two seasons after he came in as manager, are the changes not obviously seen? What pure nonsense are you saying? You're not a football fan, has no good knowledge of football, just here to paraphrase and complete post count. Manchester United nor Erik Ten Hag is in a direct competition with Arsenal.

What you have written is purely shit without knowledge, I hate it when you all slander the manager this way. Why not watch football with bias? He has always been a manager with confidence,  it's okay for people not to like your attitude, you'll never grow as a man until you begin to accept things that way. He cannot please the bloody crowd.

You don't know nothing about Manchester United to make such predictions. Your views are for you all along. Without clearing names like Harry Maguire, Scott MC Tominay, Victor Lindelof, Aaron Wan Bisakka, Antony, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Casemiro sitting on the bench, Manchester United are obviously going nowhere.

Erik Ten Hag knows this and same goes with the board and management.

Everyone, especially Manchester United fans themselves, will see how Ten Hag spends next season with Manchester United and if there are no changes or it could even be worse than last season. I think it is time for the Manchester United club management to replace him with a new coach with more basic experience and much more brilliant achievements. Because I'm sure Manchester United themselves are also quite tired of their current condition and the unsatisfactory results in the last two seasons under Ten Hag's coaching.

At first, I also thought it was quite strange for Man United to keep Ten Hag because Man United played very badly in the Premier League last season. But after looking at some facts, where many players are injured and despite that condition, Ten Hag still managed to win the FA Cup, that made me reconsider that Ten Hag may have the potential to make Man United even better. But for that, he must be given the opportunity and more time to make long-term plans work according to everyone's expectations.
Yeah he should be given more time to plan a long term plan for the club, at least even though later he live still the players can still be useful, Ten Hag have just cut many eyes since last season that why people don't take eye off him, to my observation he receives more challenges from fans last season than any club and they are at it again, Manchester city lost a friendly game yesterday and everywhere was quite and when Manchester United lost the are shooting as if it was a recognised competition, sometime performance in pre season don't guarantee sucess in the main leagues, we have see teams that start well at the beginning but unfortunately fail to reach the end.

A time like Aston villa that manages to finished in top four are busy spending money to make themselves on the top this cost season, they have spent more than any club in Europe.
