To be honest, he made a good job and made Leicester fight for the first/second places at some point and even running alone in the second place before the pause. After the pause it was chaos and the team is kind of switched. It is like reducing each player points in video games lol from 70-80 to 50 lol

Yup, I agree that every Leicester fan would have accepted this if it was offered at the beginning of the season. However, Rodgers definitely has to take some blame for the last part of it.
Their dip in form was huge, they played bad and eventually lost the crucial home game in a direct battle for the CL.

He did a good job but I'm sure they expected to be in the CL based on their form in the first part of the season.

Manchester United definitely needs a great Right winger, they are trying everyone there all the time but they are actually not proper right wingers but in reality if they get a good right winger they will be capable of playing so much more comfortably.

I'd say replace Pogba with someone better at that position  Roll Eyes. Yep this is just my preference on how the squad would be but atleast in my POV, he is not really the type of player that gives their 120% on the field and I kinda dislike it

City would probably not make a big transfer if the decision that they can't go to champions league is standing, I am not sure if it is or if it is postponed or anything, but if they are not going there

IIRC someone posted news about Manchester City's Champions League ban has been lifted and they will be able to join the Champions League

FA Cup Final on August between Chelsea and Arsenal . On the last premier league head to head between those two teams, Chelsea won once while the other game ended in a draw

In their last 5 meeting each other, both team scored goals in 4 out of 5 games. It would be nice to bet on both team to score. Chelsea is better in terms of statistic but Arsenal definitely need to win to get their slot to the Europa League

They could try to be champions and that is good in itself but usually spending that much and not going to champions league could mean losing money.
Manchester City has a lot of money so I don't think big spending is a problem because their struggle is continuing in the championship league this season and indeed at the moment I think it's still worth saying that players are worthy to be in CL with the squad now but if the City bombing is really capable win the EPL then it's not in vain in my opinion.

I’m glad we don’t have to wait long for the action to return. I’m interested to see what transfers happen, I think Man City will spend big, Man Utd probably will too & Chelsea. I’m not sure about Liverpool but I think they need to, great XI but not great options on the bench.

Till now Chelsea has made the most interesting signings.
I don't think that City is going to spend a lot of money - they have to sell a lot of players if they want to do so...

Well, Man City already have a plan to spent big money after they are free from FFP. Chelsea already get 2 players till today to replace 2 players already going out. Liverpool currently on rumor to sign Thiago Alcantara, Chelsea & Man United trying to battle for Jan Oblak with huge transfer fee £109m

Defence is probably where most teams need something, in the Big 6 anyway, but getting a Van Dijk is not something easy even for Liverpool they took a gamble with him and Alisson.
Yes, it's fine margins at the very top. If a new player turns out to be merely 'very good', then that is not enough when all players need to be 'excellent'. This is a part of the reason why it's often difficult for a good young player to emerge at a very top team - there is a lot of pressure to be a world-beater immediately.

I had exactly the same thoughts before this season started and Liverpool proved me wrong very quickly. Even when Liverpool started to run away with points I kept expecting them loose some points and City to apply pressure, never happened though.

City had bad spell when Laporte got injured. That says a lot about their defense, I don't consider Laporte as the top defender and he is by far the best defender they have. What happened with Stones? Otamendi is already old and was always a bit of hot head, Fernandihno is not a defender and he did the best he could, didn't watch Garcia enough to comment. They definitely need to bring at least one top central back to the squad, something like Liverpool did with Van Dijk.

Not just Laporte, Stones as well. They played with Otamendi and Fernandinho as 2 centrebacks, lost a lot of points during that period.

Regarding Laporte - I really love the guy. I consider him a top player and one of the best defenders in the world. The problem he has is that he's either playing with reckless Stones or clueless Otamendi.
If they bring Koulibaly, they could form a top partnership. I don't rate Koulibaly much at all but he's a strong no-nonsense defender who will not make it hard for Laporte to do his thing - dictate the game from the back.

^^ Right now City are making bid on Nathan Ake from Bournemouth. It is a good option to go for. Has good PL experience and is a good defender as well. I agree that right now City don't halve good defence options- it is either someone very old or someone without much experience or they are not into defence much.

It would be great if they somehow get Nathan Ake.

I think that even the most optimistic LFC fans do not expect another season like this one.
Manchester City will strengthen heavily while Liverpool will not be spending much and City already has a team with more depth and balance.

I'd consider City to be slight favorites next season, no matter the huge points difference in this one. I hope Liverpool will be able to remain injury-free and in good form because they do not have as many options as City does.

I cannot speak for LFC fans because I know how it feels like to be optimistic about a lot of things based on a season's performance and I think the worst off are Spurs fans who felt like we were going somewhere when we made our first ever appearance in the Champions League final. And then it all went downhill after Mourinho took over Sad.

Defence is probably where most teams need something, in the Big 6 anyway, but getting a Van Dijk is not something easy even for Liverpool they took a gamble with him and Alisson.

That one game I still can't forget is Watford beating Liverpool.

That game was insane. Liverpool were red hot at the time and watford was the least team anybody expected to win in that fixture. Not 1 or 2 goals but 3!
It never an insane game mate because thats the game of football for you anything can happen and no single opponent should be underestimated this is what Liverpool excluded when they face Watford then so suprise winning should expect.

I can't wait to welcome the new EPL season, I'm curious which team will dominate in the next season, could liverpool be able to dominate again!.
No I don't think Liverpool will dominate the next season like this one. Their inconsistency after the pause make me a little worried about this.
I am pretty sure after like 5-10 rounds the 1st and 2nd spot will be between Liverpool and City.
Don't forget Chelsea and Man utd too will challenge the duo of City and Liverpool and once again its not always easy to defend EPL in the previous season clubs who won EPL always find it tough in defending that title a lot of clubs will give them a run for their money, most of these club will buy more quality players to boost their squad anyway come September 2020 its gonna quite an interesting and competitive games to watch particularly clubs vieing for top four spot.

who would expect this kind of match, but Fulham is much better than Cardiff tonight, it is just one goal, but this one could be decision maker in this duel, if the score stays this way, 0:1 for the moment, 15 minutes till the end

i do not expect more goals on this one
Didn't watch it, just saw the score and Fulham scored at the extra time and the game ended, Cardiff 0-2 Fulham. One step closer to rise!

Leceister threw away their shot at Champions league football. They had multiple chances to seal off a spot before missed it. Before we started talking about the battle for top 4, leceister was comfortably sitting in 3rd position with enough gap since the start of the season. But what did they do? They bottled it. They had an opportunity to nail Man Utd at the king power stadium yesterday. Well, Lecister is right where they belong – europa league as they can't survive in UCL with such performance.

Leicester had lot of injuries as the conclusion came close. They has most of the key players injured. Two of the main defenders were out for the rest of the season and one of the crucial player in attacking line- Maddison also got injured. Also their fixtures in the end were tough but still they had some easier fixtures, they weren't able to capitalise on chances when they could have thrown Chelsea from 3rd and they had to pay with their CL spot which they should have gotten. Anyway it's Europa for them now..

No excuse for Leicester imo, Brendan Rodgers has form for bottling it when his team is close to achieving something special (Liverpool in 2014, Gerrard slip comes to mind). Leicester were comfortably ahead of Man Utd for a long tike, after lockdown they just weren’t good enough.

Leicester lack of experience cost them their champions league slots as they missed a lot of clear scoring opportunity. It was a great game yesterday and a successful season for Chelsea, lets go win the FA cup to complete the celebration.
