Damn, Arteta is positive on Corona virus
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/sport/amp/football/51865442

Here is Arsenal statement too
https://www.arsenal.com/news/club-statement-covid-19

They will definitely have to reconsider previous decision to keep on with the EPL.
The EPL will be suspended soon, Arsenal but also some Leicester players are infected. Both teams should be quarantined, i guess after this weekend games the decision will be made to postpone it
3 Leicester players so far have Corona virus symptoms, and are in isolation but they are not confirmed positive yet.

After Arteta being first confirmed positive, only reasonable thing to do is suspend all games, as it won't end up just with him. Most likely some other team members will be positive as well. That's how it goes.
Similar thing happened with Gobert in NBA, soon after him being confirmed positive, same thing happened with his teammate Mitchell.

For what it's worth even the so called big 5 clubs other Liverpool in recent seasons have all been representing the poorly, would you rather have Arsenal back in the UCL, just because you Leicester aren't good enough ? I don't think so.

Obviously not Arsenal but definitely United although not at the expenses of my club (Chelse). From the look of things the possibility of Chelsea losing the fourth position and champions league spot to United (assuming the ban on Manchester city get lifted) is present considering we (Chelsea) are using just three points to pass united while we still have the likes of Manchester city, Liverpool, Wolve and Leicester to play with one of the poor defense in the league.

Checkout the level of performance Wolves as a club is delivering in the Europa league, that's how you make an impact. Leicester don't just have that in them in regards to playing at the champion league level.

They (Leicester) are good but not good enough for the champion league, the last time they played at that stage, not sure if they passed the group stage. We don't need teams like that representing us (premier league) at that level. We need teams that can atleast compete for the title and probably win it. Leicester should focus more on playing & winning the Europa when they accomplish that successfully on multiple occasions then they can set higher goals like winning the champion league.

I don't think any team can become good enough for champions overnight, playing regularly in the champions can surely help them build a reputation or garner the experience needed to thrive in the competition, Leicester are far off better than host of other teams that come from other various league.

I missed the game, but I saw the last update at 1-0. I think, there's still a big chance that if City lose their game in hand to Arsenal, we could see the Foxes go up back to 2nd place. I think they deserve a chance back in UCL, and it's so good to see them up there where they belong.

The Leicester vs Aston Villa game ended 4-0 in favor of Leicester as Vardy netted twice, one from the penalty spot and another from open play also Barnes also scored twices. Leicester are paying quite well but them been among the top 4 is mostly as a result of the poor performance from other too clubs performing poorly. Assuming the likes of Arsenal, tottenham and united were performing at their best, the likes of Leicester won't have been in discussion.

Bouncing here in Italy news about 3 players (probably from Leicester) positive to COVID-19.

Gazzetta is talking about it, https://www.gazzetta.it/
Unconfirmed whether they have coronavirus or not. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/51856906

Damn, Rodgers just confirmed a couple of injured players (Maddison and Pereira) and now 3 players are being sidelined...Very unlikely that Leicester will get to play this weekend vs Watford. Suspension of the PL is getting closer and closer.
Hmm we can say that we have 24 hours before finding out that EPL is postponed too... Damn, stay at home without watching sport nor new films, what a mess...

Truth be told, this is not a time for favoritism.
The English fa need to put a hodl on the league and suspend for atleast a month.

Theres a need to secure good health of both players and supporters.
Because playing with no crowd means loss of revenue and zero value to ticket hodlers too.

UEFA should also suspend all footballing activities for a better tomorrow

Ligue 1 could be the next one suspended after Serie A imo.

Spanish La Liga beat them to that it already, La Liga has been suspended for 2 weeks with Real Madrid first team now quarantined, after a player from their basketball team tested positive for the covid-19.

Life, Love and Laughter...
The Man City vs Arsenal game was only called off as a precaution, I don’t think we’re going to see big panic & multiple games called off.

I think we will.  I think the FA could even suspend the season for a couple of weeks or so.  Ligue 1 could be the next one suspended after Serie A imo.

How is it possible that Olympiacos' incident for Coronavirus affect the game between Manchester City and Arsenla?
Olympiacos had a match with Arsenal but the owner of Olympiacos wasn't on the pitch interacting with other players.
Hypothesis:
- owner interacted with Arsenal staff and/or players directly or not.
- owner interacted with Olympiacos's players/managers (eventually contaminated) which interacted with Arsenal ones.
- no one of the above, but normally whole Arsenal team should be checked if anyone of them is carrying the virus or not or get isolated for 14 days, starting from the date of the game which normally ends tomorrow!

It is good to take precautions and try to avoid contamination in the whole Premier League championship.
But players might get infected from the airport or any other places that they interact with people.
Hopefully, everyone is healthy and the game is going to happen - ideally with spectators.

According to Arsenal's club announcement, few players actually met the owner of Olympiacos after the game.

I am waiting to see serious orders of the government in England and the whole continent soon. Stop the epidemic at it early phase is better.
Exactly. They could start with having no crowd in soccer matches...

Really sad with EPL game now being held up like this. Sad
It already started and I think for the next few weeks we ill have this fear. This may effect the performance of the players too. Psychologically they will be under confusion and will have difficulties to focus on their game. From today's Anfield match I hope we do not find any unpleasant news.

Smart is not enough, there must be skills
Just now read this tweet that Manchester city and Arsenal game has been called off as Olympiacos owner was found positive with Coronavirus. Olympiacos just recently had Europa league match with Arsenal.

https://pasteboard.co/IYyBK4e.jpg

I hope everyone in Arsenal squad comes out fine and Olympiacos players as well.

Well hopefully no Arsenal squad is affected by Covid-19 because it is very dangerous if contracting to other players, I cause this will continue to be prevented so as not to spread to others.

Even though this game is very much awaited I want to see the second game this week.
Hopefully this delay is not too long.

Maybe before/after game they did or maybe they found out after tracking with someone other who came in contact with the owner. Who knows how they figure it out. But it is certain that the players are being checked and it's good especially for everyone's safety.

I really hope Arsenal players come out clean from the checkup. Really sad with EPL game now being held up like this. Sad

There are predictions on the future epidemic situation in England, and some other European nations that they will follow the health crisis in Italy soon. Next 2 or 3 weeks. The rate of daily increasing infected cases show that there are very high risks of such bad situation if the England's government won't apply serious orders soon.

Late is worse than early but late is also better than never. I am waiting to see serious orders of the government in England and the whole continent soon. Stop the epidemic at it early phase is better. Soccer, we can watch it for the rest of our lives when the pandemic goes away.
