^  Liverpool practically has the title so personally I think there's no use chanting about it.  But will sure make fun about it if given the right reason to do so.  Grin

And it would be stupid to scratch the season with over a third over and done with.  Just give them the trophy and move on imho.
Man City will veto this  Tongue
Even with 0,01% "chance" to win the title, Man City could argue this and they have the right, however i don't think they will do it. Liverpool deserves the first place and everyone know this.
The problem is for 3rd, 4th and 5th spots especially. Leicester is not doing well lately, Chelsea +/-, Man United is rising, Wolves and Sheffield are hard numbers too.

 Shocked  https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-8111151/Liverpool-set-given-Premier-League-title-season-ended-coronavirus.html

No football means time to talk and discuss some controversies..anyone up for this? I'll start:
Liverpool fans, what would you choose?

- "Winning" the title this way and have your rivals tell you, until the end of times, that it is a tainted title? (you know The Toffees and the Citizens are preparing the chants).

- Not "winning" it at all and accept the FA's decision of voiding this season (it could happen, you never know)? This one means all the records will go down the drain, but at least your rivals won't make fun of you for the next 100 years.

I see a number of leagues in the world temporarily postponed and there is no match schedule this week until it continues until conditions really improve, for EURO 2020 I also do not know whether this title will be postponed too or will continue because there is no decision on EURO 2020 whereas in Europe this epidemic continues to spread.

Unfortunately this week there is no champions league, even though there are many major matches here.
As current situation is going I am feeling we will not able to have any match until April because many new cases appearing in many European and other countries even many players also have positive tests so no one going to take any risk expanding season is also not good option now just wait and watch what we will have for future.

There are more and more rumors that Premier League won't get canceled and we're gonna face a re-open of the championship in June but this will mess up EURO 2020 , will mess up players and will mess up other clubs from other countries.

I would close everything , make a play-off for top4 and a play-out for last 3.

I wonder what is going to happen with all those matches that are postponed.
All matches for this fixture are postponed. The EURO 2020 is about to come. All those postponements are going to delay the start of EURO of even postpone it as well.
The matches would definitely be played and the competitions would still hold, it will be delayed, time frames would change and matches would be rushed, but it's all worth it, the danger of playing right now is more, it could continue the spread of the virus rapidly. The games have been stopped and now the health workers can get about their duties, it's not going to be long before the virus goes away and we can resume proceedings once more.

My only concern is with how boring weekends would be depending on how long all this lasts, I wish everyone especially players and coaches who have tested positive to the virus quick recovery and hope to see them on the pitch soon.

def no public, but as owners and players test positive it even jeopardises the behind closed doors games.

Its looking a done deal. Problem is bigger than a bit of sport.
All major leagues in Europe postponed till first week of April and now we are stuck no one can move or have any activity for many days really suck this all.

I LOL'd so hard while reading  Grin Grin https://twitter.com/EwanMacKenna/status/1238417399872917504

Obviously, the teams having a shit season want it to get void. One is fighting to get out of the relegation zone and the other one just keeps playing garbage football week in and week out.

It won’t happen, there are too many ramifications -

  • Who gets relegated
  • Who gets promoted
  • Who gets into European football for next season CL & EL

The season will continue in a month or two, I think Euro 2020 will get moved to next year now.

You can’t stop Liverpool winning the title, you can’t pull Leicester out of likely CL qualification. You can’t say to Leeds & West Brom that they aren’t going to go up.

It’d be too much of a mess to cancel the season, I think it will get finished.
A delay for few weeks until the situation will be more clear.
European politicians said hard words lately about the number of potential infections and death. News popping about players being positive and even a president...
First week of April will answer many questions tho

I was just scrolling through my news feed and I found out that Arteta had tested positive for coronavirus, and before I could recover from the shock I found out that Callum Hudson-Odoi too tested positive for COVID-19 which is really very sad. Furthermore I’m deeply concerned about the security of the fans and the players as the Premier League fixtures have yet not been called off, and we will have to wait and see if the fixtures get postponed or no as all 20 clubs are meeting today to discuss on this issue.

Damn, Arteta is positive on Corona virus
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/sport/amp/football/51865442

Here is Arsenal statement too
https://www.arsenal.com/news/club-statement-covid-19

They will definitely have to reconsider previous decision to keep on with the EPL.
The EPL will be suspended soon, Arsenal but also some Leicester players are infected. Both teams should be quarantined, i guess after this weekend games the decision will be made to postpone it
3 Leicester players so far have Corona virus symptoms, and are in isolation but they are not confirmed positive yet.

After Arteta being first confirmed positive, only reasonable thing to do is suspend all games, as it won't end up just with him. Most likely some other team members will be positive as well. That's how it goes.
Similar thing happened with Gobert in NBA, soon after him being confirmed positive, same thing happened with his teammate Mitchell.

Not your keys, not your coins!
That's some shocking news with Arteta and Odoi getting infected with Coronavirus. They are gonna hold emergency meeting today to decide about the future fixtures. PL statement regarding the game are to be carried on normal this weekend was before breaking of Arteta being infected news right?

I think we are gonna see a suspension very soon.
So the virus has infected many players and coach in the Europe, from Italy, England, Germany and maybe Spain. With strong fitness of players and coach, I don't think they will get serious or critical conditions and will recover soon but the fastly and widely spread of the virus is a very strong warning to the public health systems around Europe.

Football, tennis and other sports should be postponed to delay the peaks of the pandemic, in the Europe in particular, to help the local health systems have more time to prepare, then provide better care for patients, especially the elderly who are at most highest risk.

There is definitely no way the premier league is going to hold this week as Chelsea's star player Callum Hudson-Odoi becomes the latest from the EPL to be tested positive for coronavirus, and according to reports, the club is effecting a partial closure of it's training facilities 1 and the full men's squad including coach staff and backroom staff will self isolate in accordance to the authorities guidelines 2

i guess after this weekend games the decision will be made to postpone it

I strongly doubt any match would hold this weekend, it will be absurd for the FA to continue the premier knowing fully that it'll be endangering players, staffs and the public health at large, the least they could is an immediately suspension, which should last for about 2 weeks just to assess all other options.
I was expecting the same thing especially after the suspension of Serie A and La Liga but until now there is no decision taken, i even read in an article that the games will go ahead.

3 Leicester players so far have Corona virus symptoms, and are in isolation but they are not confirmed positive yet.
Some articles are misleading, kind of playing with the words and don't precise the timing of said info. I remember reading in one of it that "after Leicester, now Arsenal is touched by Covid-19". I thought that the 3 players are infected (confirmed positive), it turns to be in self-isolation....
