Success for Spurs this season is to win a trophy, any trophy. The FA Cup would be somewhere good to start. They’re 11 points behind Man City who are 4th so I think CL qualification is impossible unless they win it & enter next season as the reigning champions which seems very unlikely.

Mourinho just needs to get some form back for Spurs & prepare for next season.

Just when you think Mourinho is gone for good in the PL he comes back. The bus is back & I think he’s ready to annoy everybody all over again Cheesy
Haha you are 100% right. I like feeling there is a passion back for the English league. In the era of modern football, it is clear that a figure like Mourinho will raise the prestige of a league. He is the most perfect for media affairs. I remember when he first came to the English league he immediately became the main star coach. What is interesting for us to wait for how he will play football with Spurs.

Mourinho first came when Chelsea & Man Utd were the only big spenders in the league. It’s much more competitive  now, City & LFC are here. I don’t expect him to be anywhere close to as successful at Spurs as he was at Chelsea. His limitations were exposed at Man Utd. Success for Spurs though is top 4 so I don’t think he’ll get sacked for not winning trophies.

Well here are the weekend Premier League fixtures with my scores.

Anybody else want to make their opinions known?  Grin

Manchester City vs Chelsea
Your score is right for this match but my heart says differently in this match maybe this score will end 2-2 Chelsea also now is not underestimated anymore because lately in 5 matches win continues and maybe will fight with City will end in a draw .

both teams to score for all of the matches? except the two watford and arsenal match ? i tend to agree with that.

crystal palace vs liverpool if you looking at the past meetings between the two it seems there is almost always a lot of goals scored , instead 1-2 maybe 1-3 or 1-4 for me in this match , over 3.5 goals or just liverpool to win for 1.4.
and for everton vs norwich city i guess norwich city will try to get out of the bad form through this match after suffering 6 matches lost 1 draw in their last 7 games and scored only 2 goals , maybeee 1-1.

tottenham hotspurs , manchester united and leicester city away to win all of them in parlay seems sexy  Wink

I think Mourinho signing for Tottenham is a big shot.I want to remind everyone here what Mourinho said in 2015 and that was “I would never train Tottenham,I love Chelsea fans to much to do this”.Look at where we are now,I thought he loved Chelsea fans but apparently I am wrong.

It's all about money man.
He got a huge amount of money in order to train Tottenham, why should he refuse this deal? Especially, when there was a lot of time that he didn't get an offer from any club around the world. Totally fair for me. He did the right thing.

Hopefully, they don't take it too personally, especially coming from pundits who make money by spewing some bullshit regularly.
And some of this pundits have actually tried out their luck as managers and they all performed poorly, individuals such as Gary Neville, thiery Henry, Scholes etc, they all had difficult times during their short spell as managers and this lead to early departures, it's easier to sit and criticize than to be put in that position to do something.

I saw some websites yesterday claiming pochettino would perfectly fit Manchester City, if pep Guardiola leaves at the end of the season, I am forced to believe that could be true, poch's style of play has some similarities, but I do not think Guardiola would leave city this season.

By joining Mourinho Tottenham then I think this could improve Spurs' position to a better rank, and I believe Mounrinho under his care he will be able to increase his troops and find great players and under his instructions all players will obey him.
Mourinho's recruitment, in my opinion he is one of the best options for Spurs. he always gives a title for the team he manages.
Pochettino is actually quite good, maybe his time was end and Spurs management doesn't seem to be giving him another chance,
and in the spurs last few matches they were so bad that they were stranded in 14th place, at least the change of manager gave a fresh air to pursue the big 4 positions.

It is all about opinions.

Sometimes I feel sorry for players and managers because of this. All their hard work on the pitch is ignored and summarized into a single or two words such as 'flop', 'good manager' etc. Hopefully, they don't take it too personally, especially coming from pundits who make money by spewing some bullshit regularly.

It was a shocker to see Mourinho being chosen as the new Tottenham Coach. I knew that Pochettino would be dropped but I expected it to be at the end of the season considering his contribution to the club for years now. The Premier League will get more interesting bow with Pep, Klopp and Mourinho. Let's see if Mourinho can do what Pochettino couldn't ~ That is keeping Tottenham in the top 4 this season.  The Premier League is becoming hot again 🔥🔥🔥

He is a top manager even though he has not won a trophy yet
What is a top manager?

Someone who wins a bunch of trophies? Someone who makes their teams/players play really good football? Maybe both? Does Poch excels in either of those items? IMO, no, he doesn't, so I wouldn't call him a top manager. He hasn't won anything in his maneragial career, and his teams don't have an unique or outstanding style of play, also, he's not a tactical mastermind.

If Poch is a top manager just for getting Tottenham to play a CL final and compete in the top 4 in the last few years in the EPL, then what Ranieri did with Leicester automatically makes him one of the best managers of all time  Cheesy

People seem to forget that Tottenham used to be a mid-table team until the mid 2000s when the likes of Martin Jol and Redknapp took over, team went from 10th or 14th position every year, to enter Top 5 thanks to them. To me, that's a far bigger achievement than going from Top 5 to Top 3 which is what Poch did (Champions League is a different story). Just my two cents.

It is all about opinions.

If a manager came in at Old Trafford and took Manchester United to a 5th, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd and 4th over 5 years I would not say he was a great manager because more is expected for that club. The same applies to Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool because of the level they are at.

If a Ranieri can take Leicester City to the Premier League title but have zero consistency and zero longevity over near 18 months in charge before getting sacked after a fluke season vs Pochettino who provided consistency and stability over 5 years with 5th, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place finishes in the league as well as a Champions League final - for me Pochettino is the clear winner. Others can disagree but we are all entitled to our opinion.

He should definitely take a break. He is a top manager even though he has not won a trophy yet. He should wait until the end of the season before taking a suitable job.

Pochettino obviously was tempted by Real Madrid last season and two seasons ago so if he went there (providing Zidane was sacked) - then it would be a dream come true for him.

Pochettino can go to Ac Milan next year.
If they want a comeback on the elite teams Pochettino can be a good choice.
Keep in mind the origin of Pochettino is Italian so he can be happy to come on the land of his parents.

Things don't seems to be working out for Pochettino and Tottenham Hotspurs this season but I had a feeling that everything was eventually was going to work out for them in the end though. Sacking Pochettino was a mistake but Mourinho has at his disposal one of the best teams in Europe and he might start targeting the EPL next season.

Now that Mourinho has been appointed manager of Tottenham will they really be contesting for a top 5 finish?

Not this season, no. It’ll take him a couple of transfer windows to build a team in his way. I think Eriksen, Alderweireld & Vertonghen are in the final year of their contracts so they’ll go in the summer. Jose will need time to build his squad.

Tottenham's summer transfers should be fun to follow next year.  Grin  And I hope he gets Rui Faria back in his coaching staff.
Pochettino had only spend of around 110m euro during his charge at Tottenham.

Compared to Mourinho's two years at Manchester United that spend of around 320m, does Levy is ready to spend really a lot of money in the upcoming transfer window? Let's see .. so far Paulo dybala would be main Mourinho transfer target priority and nemanja matic the player that Mourinho loved since he was in benfica also on the list , who else?
