If Liverpool wins today and Manchester City continues to have bad result like a draw or a lost game , then the Premier League will lose the beauty and thrill because Liverpool would surely manage to be Champions until the end of the season.

Both have difficult games today so it will be interesting games to watch.

Why will EPL lose the beauty, I think the fight for top position will still stay there. No doubt Liverpool has the highest chance to take away the league title this season. Manchester City even if they start regaining in their matches I feel the title is not meant for them this season. This is complete speculation by me, now lets see, I think few more games will clear off the speculation.

Your speculation seems too conclusive and looking at the way the premiere league is known for it's unpredictability i don't think any team has a firm grip over it yet even if any of the top two should loose this weekend and the other should win. Any potential team will probably need more than 10 points to be able to do that in the premiere league just like Chelsea two seasons ago and Manchester city last season.

Leicester City have managed to beat Manchester City in their recent home game and I think this result must have shocked a lot of football fans, so I believe Leicester City should be able to claim a victory against Cardiff City easily today as the defense of Cardiff City are always pretty bad whenever they are playing away from their home stadium. The odds payout for Leicester City to win the match in full time is not too bad, I guess I will place a small bet on this match and hopefully Leicester City will not disappoint me today.

@tomahawk: yeah, nothing is decided until the fat lady sings on Game 38, but the City-Pool clash will determine how things swing. I'm all over that game, I just hope I am able to find time to watch it. Busy period for me!
damn, it would suck if you miss one of the most important and decisive games for Liverpool this season...hope you can watch it.

This thread has been pretty quiet lately, understandable, though...but don't forget to miss the big game tomorrow: Liverpool vs Arsenal. I have high expectations for this game...Pool are clearly the favorites, but I think the Gunners can put up a good fight.

I thought the Saints were a sure bet last night, they'd been showing a lot of adventure ever since new manager took over, but I guess I should have expected them to fall short before mid season. Table doesn't lie in the end, even if West Ham weren't the favourites.

@oeleo: I was thinking that but didn't want to say it. Son's been far more instrumental than any other player this season to me, in the Spurs team. He's really lighting things up and they'll miss him for AFC... just as the Reds always miss Mane for Africa Cup.

they're a team that usually chokes in the 2nd half of the seasons so I wouldn't be surprised if they drop a bunch of points.

Add to that the fact that Son has been called up to the South Korean Squad for the AFC Asian Cup in January. He's leaving following Spurs' match against United on January 13th for the 3rd and final group game against China on 16th January. The final of the Asian Cup is on February 1st, so his first game back if South Korea made it to the final would presumably February 10th. Thankfully for Spurs they have relatively easy fixtures during the month he is away. His form at the moment is crazy, with 7 goals and 4 assists in the last 6 league games (if you don't count the game against Burnley when he only played for <15 minutes).

I know it is early but for me the title is decided right here in these two lost games of Manchester City and these two wins of Liverpool.
I think the Man City vs Liverpool game will be decisive, especially for the citizens, if they lose they'll be 10 pts behind Pool, but we shouldn't discard Spurs, 6 pts isn't that big of gap, Liverpool could lose 2 games and all of a sudden Tottenham are in the title race...then again, they're a team that usually chokes in the 2nd half of the seasons so I wouldn't be surprised if they drop a bunch of points.

^  Yup.  And to think City lost back to back vs the clubs below the mid table.  It's not looking good for them.  The Spurs got second place on the table too.  Considering the money City spent on transfers, this is a disaster imho...  Unless they win the CL.  Grin

It was a big step forward the title for Liverpool and a bad step back for Manchester City. Liverpool is leading in full quietness and I think it would be difficult for any other team right now including Manchester City to have real hopes for the title. I know it is early but for me the title is decided right here in these two lost games of Manchester City and these two wins of Liverpool.

*Me cursing in Japanese when seeing City losing again*

HOLY SH*TO!

Pretty impressive from Klopp tho, if he wins the league.  He promised the fans of winning it within three or 4 years of his time as LFC manager.

At the start of the season, I thought Spurs were going to suffer massively for not incorporating new players into the team, I even thought they were going to struggle to get into the top 4...now look at them, 2nd place in the league table and just 6 points behind the leaders...hats off to Poch.

With the way Liverpool are playing I can't see any team catching them unless they have a poor month like Man City are currently having.
oh they'll eventually slip up (or maybe not), question is how big the gap will be with Spurs and City? if it's big enough they can slip up, they can lose/draw a few games and still remain at the top of the league.

Liverpool now sit 6 points clear at the top of the table with a big win over Newcastle 4-0, the big upset of the round so far is that Man City dropped another game against Leicester City and are now 7 points behind Liverpool. With the way Liverpool are playing I can't see any team catching them unless they have a poor month like Man City are currently having.

Wow. How the tables have turned in Manchester. Turns out United players are quite good and they can actually play football. That build up to their second goal was beautiful (https://streamja.com/a23a), and just as nice as the build up to their 3rd goal against Cardiff last week. I've never been a United fan, but I always loved Solskjaer and am super happy he's had such a dream start to his temporary position.

Leicester city with another upset and Manchester city drops spots on the table.
Manchester united continue their success with another solid win today and thinking the manager choice has got their players confidence into performing with elite status once again.
I don't know if Chelsea will come up with a loss today versus Watford but we have to see about it in about an hours time.

Manchester City seems to be having a lot of problems during this Christmas period, they have already lost 3 games out of 4 matches played recently and even Tottenham have managed to overtake them on the table with a one point lead, if Manchester City are not able to start winning games starting from their next upcoming match against Southampton, their hopes to win the English Premier League title this season would be very small.

Just finished watching Fulham vs Wolves. First half Fulham deserved a lot more (Mitrovic had so many chances throughout the game) but Wolves were a lot better in the 2nd half until Sessegnon's goal. All in all, not a bad way to start Boxing Day.

My prediction for tonight is we have 1 big upset. And I'm sorry to say it will be at Old Trafford. Huddersfield will expose their defence and then themselves park the bus and show United how it's done.
If Man Utd can't beat Huddersfield who are currently at the bottom of the league table, then Solskjaer should resign right after the final whistle and the players should offer an apology to the fans in the post-match interview. Seriously though, this is a winnable game, they have to get the 3 points today.

Mourinho has left so they will forget how to defend and forget their secret weapon of Fellaini's elbow.
haha what?

A nice little accumulator to be had on the top teams today. Liverpool, City and Spurs should all be fairly easy wins, with combined odds of 2.15. United, Arsenal and Chelsea are a bit more risky. United should win fairly easily if their game last week wasn't just fluke and they keep up their new form under Solskjaer. I can see an upset in either of the Chelsea or Arsenal games, though. Combined odds for all 6 games are 7.6 though.

United games have had a minimum of 4 goals for the last 5 games in a row, and a minimum of 3 goals for 15/18 games this season. Given they are against 19th place Huddersfield who are on a 5 game losing streak, I think Man Utd >2.5 goals is also a fairly safe bet.

I went for the riskier Chelsea/Arsenal/City/Spurs parlay for over 5/1. Liverpool was barely 1.13 but I took a separate bet on a -1 Asian handicap at half time. I feel they must score early at least once, and that could either open the floodgates or trigger Rafa's superbus tactics.

Incredibly tempting to back Leicester or Huddersfield upsets as even 0.5 handicap is above 4/1 but too much at stake for either team to lose.

So far my 1-1 prediction for opening game is spot on - two promoted teams with the biggest budgets this season.

Lol.  They'll prolly trash their next three opponents and start feeling and being the 'invincible Man United' again.  Which sets them up good for an away fixture vs Tottenham.  Wink  Should be good.

Other than that, I guess we can look at City to perhaps draw at Leicester? Arsenal or Spurs could also draw or lose. Liverpool should win easy, but Rafa will play with 11 men behind the ball, until Shaqiri unlocks it all.
