A nice little accumulator to be had on the top teams today. Liverpool, City and Spurs should all be fairly easy wins, with combined odds of 2.15. United, Arsenal and Chelsea are a bit more risky. United should win fairly easily if their game last week wasn't just fluke and they keep up their new form under Solskjaer. I can see an upset in either of the Chelsea or Arsenal games, though. Combined odds for all 6 games are 7.6 though.

United games have had a minimum of 4 goals for the last 5 games in a row, and a minimum of 3 goals for 15/18 games this season. Given they are against 19th place Huddersfield who are on a 5 game losing streak, I think Man Utd >2.5 goals is also a fairly safe bet.

Last year the game of Brighton vs Arsenal ended in a win for Birghton 2-1.I think history will not repeat itself this time and Arsenal will win with goals difference. I think that the games of boxing day produce many goals so I am betting on Over 3.5 goals for this game.

Huddersfield is one of the team with the worst offense in the English Premier League at the moment, so I believe the defenders of Manchester United should not be having too much problem defending against Huddersfield today, and with the home fans cheering for the players of Manchester United at the stadium of Old Trafford, this should be an easy win for Manchester United today.
Take Man U in Asian Handicap, either -1 or bolder pick -1.5, pays pretty well indeed.
I would not rule out a play on the total goals market, perhaps Over 3 or Over 3.5.

I agree with you that these games will have many goals because we are on a festive atmosphere and no team will care to play in defense, they will all be playing open football and in open football rarely we see 0-0 results.
I think this is the first time that I've heard that the holidays could affect team performance or how they're going to play. I think they'll play like always, there's no reason for teams to change they way they play just because we're in the holidays season.

Anyways, it's gonna be a long day of football tomorrow in the EPL, 9 matches in total, i'm looking forward to watch Fulham vs Wolves, and Watford vs Chelsea, I think Sarri's team could drop points tomorrow.

Foreign people keep thinking how amazing Liverpool is and what they are doing but they do forget what one thing; Liverpool has always been good.

I know people are used to seeing Manchester united and Manchester city and Chelsea and all that and they assume that Liverpool was always a top 7 team and so forth but Liverpool has made to champions league 5 out of 10 times in the last 10 years and that's a great result in a league like Premier League.

I mean there are only 4 teams that has a better result than that and that makes Liverpool a top 5 team in a highly competitive league. I doubt its weird they managed to create a whole team that is unbeaten with the help of a great player and an amazing manager at the helm. I just hope Jurgen could finally win an european cup, he missed barely at Dortmund and last year they were doing so well until finals and we know what happened. I hope they get the cup this year.

December 26: Brighton vs Arsenal
Will recommend to pick Over 2.5 goals at the odds of 1.78 (or better).
Arsenal beating Burnley 3-1 was a very good result for Unai Emery, now they are 4th in the league (tied with Chelsea). Brighton's defense is not great (they lost three consecutive games), Arsenal's defense is also weakened by some injuries so I am confident we could see at least three goals in this match.

Anybody willing to 'reboot' this thread on a new (or even a self moderated) thread?  We could ask hilariousandco to lock this and start another one for the new year.  We could also do it starting at the new season...?

Tomorrow we will see a boxing day matches, I am personally sure that there will be many goals in tomorrow's match and it looks like I will bet for over and / or both team to score in all matches. After watching yesterday's match with the many goals that were created, it looks like it's a clue that will likely continue in the boxing day matches that will create many goals too. Hopefully my prediction is not wrong this time!

I thought boxing day was on 31 December and 1 January but it is a good thing if we have again Premier League tomorrow. I agree with you that these games will have many goals because we are on a festive atmosphere and no team will care to play in defense, they will all be playing open football and in open football rarely we see 0-0 results.

Imagine if Tottenham continues these kinds of big success and will continues to play even better. Maybe they can really have a good chance on taking the top spots. My money is still on Liverpool for now. Grin

Excellent matches for this weekend. 8 goals in Everton Tottenham match, City lost the match must say Im little surprised and Liverpool how have 4 point lead. This season will be very interesting not to mention that MNU wont after they sack Mourinho. This season think that start now.

2-6 for Tottenham , never had seen Tottenham score so many goals in away game and against a strong team like Everton when playing in their home field. When Everton had the advantage I thought the game would end like 3-0 for Everton as they were playing well. I was out then with my family and when I saw now the final result I was like oh what the heck. Great football from the Premier League as always.
I think both team of the fans does enjoyed watching the match between Everton and Tottenham, as the whole match is full of goal scoring actions, and Tottenham might be able to challenge Liverpool and Manchester City for the title this season after this victory against Everton, even though it will not be easy to overtake Liverpool on the table as there is a 6 point gap at the moment, but I guess if Tottenham can keep up this performance, a miracle might still happen.

Christ what a bloodbath at Goodison Park! Now I wish I watched the game. Spurs have been stringing together some really good wins, single-goal margins in past few weeks if I recall properly, and then now to produce this kind of goalfest!

Had backed them in a 2-legged parlay, but clearly the bookies had some doubts as I did with a 2.3 odds to win. 9 shots on target, 6 goals. They must be so happy with themselves. They could even take 2nd spot if City lose to Liverpool in 11 days' time;)

@tokeweed you seem to have done well this week, made good predictions for the underdogs?

But well done to United. I don't like them so much under Mourinho and just see how things change if you play attack and play positive. Great win, yes of course it was only Cardiff but when United have lost to bottom teams before, this means things are on track. Hope they knock out PSG in Champions League and make the sheikhs lose more money for another season.

A couple more games playing like that and their opponents will start to fear them...  Then they can get back to being 'United' on the pitch again.  Maybe next season they will get back to being the club we all love to hate.  Grin

Just finished watching Everton vs Spurs...game, set and match for Poch & co, 2-6 final score. If i'm not mistaken, Everton were unbeaten at home this season so this is a surprising scoreline, an embarrassing performance tbh, but you gotta give it to Tottenham, they were great throughout the whole game, Eriksen, Sissoko, Son, Kane, etc they were all fantastic today. Spurs without making too much noise are trying to enter the title race this season.

Seriously if anyone thinks Manchester united managed to grab a huge win because Mourinho is not their manager anymore has no idea how football works.

If a team wins because they lack a manager thats not the managers problem thats combination of couple things, first of all when a manager leaves team has to show what they got so when the new one comes they can get a spot in the starting line up so everyone plays much better, when you have a manager and they have a proffered starting line up those people know they got the job so they lay back, that is a big difference.

Secondly when manager leaves the team is working hard to prove that the trouble was the manager and they are actually good so they play extra well in order to defend themselves and put the blame on others. ManU will go back to early season ways soon but it will just take couple of games like this and couple games with new manager, after that its downhill again.
I think it was due to the devils mismanagement.
They did even mentioned before the match started yesterday Pogba and Mourinho relationship was very very bad.
You can see this on his twitter under "Caption this!" picture after he was fined for posting it.
And if you are not getting along with the best player on the roster (well their highest paid player anyways) then you should be replaced not the player since he is the one on the pitch playing with his teammates and does not have necessarily an issue with them.
The manager was the constant problem the team was having. That was the issue with them.
They lost their matches under Mourinho with small margins. They replace him and they score the most goals in a game since being under Alex Ferguson in 2013.
You can't deny that is just a coincidence.
I believe it was the toxic environment that Mourinho was creating for himself that caused his departure even before the season was over and the club didn't care if it was a sacking before the holiday season even started and did it to him out of spite.

Tottenham will be playing against Everton away from their home stadium, and I just checked the starting lineups for Tottenham, they are missing a few key players in this match and I wonder if it will affect their performance in this match, Everton is not an easy team to beat whenever they are playing at the stadium of Goodison Park and I guess we might see a draw at the final whistle today.
