It look like there are easy games for the bigs of Premier League today. I am going to bet on a parlay and choose Arsenal , Chelsea and Manchester United and I think this parlay will be hit. Liverpool gave a strong signal yesterday by easily winning to nil on Wolves home field.

Oh I think to add also Machester City to the parlay because I don't think there will be upset from the bigs of Premier League today.

^  ??  Liverpoool isn't in it already.  You mean the league right?

Sorry I forgot and confused Manchester City with Liverpool. I mean Manchester City will win the league cup , it was a mistake by me, and yes I am sure Liverpool will win the Premier League title this year or at least the Champions League, it has an amazing group of players this year.

^  'At least' the CL...?  That's like the harder trophy to win imho cos of the format.  And the league is still a coin flip between them and City.
still very early to say that Liverpool will win the premier league because of the small difference in points with Man City, it might be clearer who will win the league when Man City and Liverpool meet, I can't wai for that match, they have depth squad which is really very good in this season

Newcastle United have successfully climbed out from the relegation zone at the moment and they will play against Fulham for their next upcoming match with home advantage. Even though Newcastle United are struggling to score goal in the English Premier League as they have only managed to score a total of 14 goals from 17 matches played, but I still believe Newcastle United would be able to beat Fulham and claim all 3 points to climb up the table.

I honestly don't see the point in sacking Jose just to go with Solskjaer. Do they really think he's going to do any better and turn the club around by the end of the season?
I don't think it's a matter of whether the team will improve or not under Solskjaer, I think what the board wanted was to get rid of the toxic environment that Mou had created within the club and simply have someone that can bring positive vibes among the players, the results and team performance are secondary.

I doubt Solskjaer will last very long either. They'll probably keep him till the end of the season unless he does something miraculous then hope a big manager like Zidane can be enticed with a fresh start.
They already said that Solskjaer will be the caretake manager, meaning that he'll leave the club at the end of the season.

Liverpool tonight has a difficult test to pass against Wolves. The fact that Liverpool didn't have Champions League this week makes me think that although difficult Liverpool can have a narrow win today.

However if Liverpool want to give a strong signal to Chelsea and Manchester City should win the game tonight with some goals difference.

They should have just let him play out the Champions League at least and see how far he could have got them there. I don't think they've got a chance and probably won't get past PSG but they should at least given him that. I doubt Solskjaer will last very long either. They'll probably keep him till the end of the season unless he does something miraculous then hope a big manager like Zidane can be enticed with a fresh start.

Praying for Burton won't do much by looking against the other teams which it may face in the semi finals. It will face one of the contestant to win the Premier League so no matter how hard you pray it won't bring any result in the end. I believe in miracles but not in the ones so big.

I think the league cup will be won by Liverpool.

In case anyone cares, Tottenham just beat Arsenal 0-2 in the league cup. It was a pretty entertaining match tbh, Arsenal deserved a lot more, a draw would've been fair in the first half, 2nd half the Gunners dominated the game but they weren't clinical enough. Btw, Dele Alli's finish in the 2nd goal was a beauty.

League cup semi-finals:

Chelsea
Manchester City
Spurs
Burton Albion

Burton will get a chunk of the gate receipts (ticket money) for the game at The Etihad, it’ll probably bag the club a couple of million pounds which will be absolutely huge for such a small club. It’ll probably be enough to financially run the club for a year or two plus the matches (both legs) will be televised I presume.

Man City will probably batter them in both games but just to get this far will be amazing for them financially.

I think it is a bit too early to start thinking of transferring new players although that would be ideal in my opinion. I think they should focus more on the players they have and try to find a more harmonious way to make them play better together rather than thinking of transferring new players. It maybe the ideal solution when they adapt easily but in this phase of the Premier League focusing on the actual group would be a wiser idea.

Exactly. They've spent enough money with Mou, and I doubt they will want to spend even more money with Solskjaer given he is only going to be there for 6 months. More likely they will want to wait for whoever the new permanent manager is to come in and let him build the team in the way he sees, rather than be given a team of players someone else has picked and have no room for maneuver.

Their 1st team squad is just fine on paper - easily good enough to be top 4. They just need the right manager. I don't think Solskjaer is it, but he's not meant to be. This season is already a write off for them.

-snip-

My thoughts exactly - he had only 9 months at Cardiff and got them relegated. It does seem all but confirmed at the moment that he's got the job, though. Couldn't have picked a nicer guy though, and I struggle to see him having any big disagreements with any player like Mou had. Perhaps even more importantly though, it seems confirmed that Mike Phelan, who was head coach and then assistant manager for many years under Sir Alex Ferguson, is going to be coming back as Solskjaer's number two. That's as close to SAF as you can get without actually bringing back SAF.
Man Utd fans should be more excited about Phelan coming back than Solskjaer's being the caretaker manager tbh, at least they'll have someone with experience on the bench, now i'm looking forward to see what they can do with the team. Btw, I wonder if Solskjaer would want to sign new players in the next transfer window? Even though he'll be on the team until the end of the season, I think the team needs a few quality signings now if they still want to compete in both the EPL and the CL, though I wouldn't be surprised if the board decides to wait until the next season.

Rumor:  Poch to Man United at the end of the season, Eddie Howe to Tottenham.  I'd say that's a good deal for both clubs imo, and their new managers if it happens that way.

It's a perfect fit for both managers and clubs.

As a Liverpool fan obviously I despise Man Utd but Poch is probably the best on the market who is attainable (I rate Klopp, Pep, Simeone higher but they’re not going anywhere).

Eddie Howe is a risk as he’s never managed a top team before but he likes playing the right type of football. Spurs won’t be able to attract a finished article coach so Howe is good.

So Baby-Faced Killer is managing Utd interim. Interesting but the club do want to restore some of the team spirit and there's probably few better choices. I'm not displeased our old rivals are plumbing depths, and all of their own doing. Football is such satisfaction.

It’s time for them to be in the football wilderness for a while & wallow in mediocrity. We’ve had our time like that, now it’s their turn.

We need a trophy this season though it’s been too long. I’m not greedy, the PL or the CL will suffice Cheesy

@buwaytress - I owe you a Merit. I’m out atm unfortunately. I’m going to Wolves away (the league game, not the cup game) on Friday night. It’ll be my first away game this season.

On VVD - The guy is an absolute colossus.

Remember I can put you in touch with people if you want to go to a game.

Thanks, I always know can count on you I definitely remember that. Stuck at the hip now to a young kid who needs my care so unless I find someone to watch him for a couple of days at least, unlikely I can travel far but yes, Anfield beckons again and I really want to see them again. Many new faces and need to hear the Egyptian King's name sang out from the stands.

I do want to win the cup too, be nice to face City on 3rd being in all 3 competitions.
