@tomahawk9 - Danny Ward (Liverpool’s 3rd choice GK) has joined Leicester. I think Mignolet will leave on a permanent transfer somewhere (rumours of Barcelona as their number 2 GK Cillessen could be leaving).

Regarding Karius I think he’ll stay as back up to Alisson.

Karius’s confidence will be smashed to pieces after Kiev, he already started pre season making a bad fuck up. I think he needs to stay out of the limelight because opposition fans & players would tear him to pieces if he was playing. He needs to train hard, get his confidence back & rebuild his career before moving maybe next season.

Alisson is the main man now.

I’m excited about our chances this season. I have a feeling it’ll be a fight between City & Liverpool.
Keita looks really good in pre season so far. I think the most important signing is Alisson though, as we saw in Kiev you can’t win anything with a crap goalkeeper.

Who knows, maybe we get Fekir in through the door late on in the transfercwindow. This is the beet squad of my lifetime already though.

Look at the spine of the team - Alisson—-VVD——Keita/Fabinho——Firmino/Salah/Mane
Are there many better in world football?

I'm going to go one further and say that City will face fierce competition not only from the Reds but from a re-energised Spurs, a new-look Arsenal too. I mean, who else plays such positive football right? Chelsea maybe back in contention? I don't know, it's like they've lost their way (trying not to forget they were champions twice in the last 5 seasons!).

Mourinho looks totally ragged now, but you never put United down so early.

But ouf yes, back to Liverpool. Keita's always looked hot to me, I'm just hoping his red cards last season don't carry over. I've not had confidence in goal since Reina left, tbh, I even think Dudek is much better than Karius/Mignolet. I miss the days when we had good keepers with good distribution, but as long as we have a commander in defence (VVD is good but I'd prefer a keeper to tell everyone what to do).

Looks like I'm not the only one sensing the Fekir deal isn't dead just yet too. I mean, Alisson was a big surprise tbh.

And no, not many that better. We've got great fullbacks too, I wouldn't trade our front 3, or wingbacks for anyone at all.

Here's to Liverpool to beat Dortmund @2.1. Why not? Since they won me my first pre-season bet with Blackburn: https://www.bitcoinrush.io/sportsbook/ShareBet?id=%2BZ50FOyOA7K78R5mTtq%2Fw%2FQobdhMGB0OkOAEDugFhTw%3D

Do you know what's gonna happen with Karius? I read some rumours about him going to some low-tier english club but I don't remember the name. Some other rumours say that Bayern Munich are interested in Karius (I think this BS lol )

Did you read the Don Balon article by any chance? Reportedly Bayern Munich are willing to pay 12 million euros for Loris Karius and Niko Kovac allegedly approves of the goalkeeper so maybe Karius could reignite his career in Germany? Well he is still an elite league goalkeeper isn't he? I think he would be better off leaving the Premier League for now and getting comfortable again somewhere else. What's a better place than his home country?

In the premier league the favourite to win the title is still Manchester City. Although many other teams like Liverpool have made pricey transfers of good players to them I don't think that they can run for the title this year. They have not continuity in their game play. I am not an expert but this can be easily spotted.

You already have Shaqiri  Cheesy  but Lyon confirmed that Fekir will stay in France for another season https://twitter.com/OL/status/1005513163624861696 although, english media keep saying that Liverpool are still trying to sign him

Barcelona: Ter Stegen--Pigué--Busquets--Messi/Suarez/Coutinho. Man City: Ederson--Stones--Fernandinho/De Bruyne--Aguero/Sané/Silva. Real Madrid: Keylor--Ramos--Casemiro/Modric--Bale/Isco/Asensio...to name a few. Though in terms of development, Liverpool do have a very promising squad.

West Ham made good transfers this year, but he could not give any anticipation of last year. Actually, even if we look at how robust transfer is done, the game ends in game understanding.

Since 2008-2009, Liverpool have not been more ready on paper to win the league title than their current position after a market has dealt with their weakness .Now the opposite of "what's on paper" remains to see "on "The move by Liverpool this summer means they are serious on their project, but the desire to implement it after the Premier League season has been on the rise for many years.

The latest arrivals were Brazilian goalkeeper Allison from Rome became the world's most expensive goalkeeper, the Reda continue to break the record after signing up with the world's most expensive defender Van Djik last winter, and this increase pressure over Klopp this season as they are going to need some silverware to lift I think there summer window have closed unless they go for the overkill by bringing Nabil Fekir as they already got Shaqiri and spent money on Nabi keita and Fabinho.

Keita: 8, Firminho: 9, Mane: 10, Salah: 11. That's what I call a really lovely set of Jersey numbers. Keita's of course not proven anything but his early season outings seem to indicate he won't take long to settle into the high tempo of attacking Liverpool demands. I hope Milner keeps his legs a few more years, to see someone almost my age just burn up the grass at every match is breathtaking. Just a big pity we've lost Ox, and Lallana never looks confident.

I wouldn't say we've never been more ready. I remember thinking the Suarez season where the Gerrard slip cost us the title, that everything was so special and couldn't be better. Liverpool's new team still has a lot of things to learn and we have so few mature people in the squad. But there's every reason to feel optimistic about our chances to go high, and at least give the champion a run for their money. Last season was so meek, everyone gave City an easy time (except Liverpool ahaha).

I would say we need another solid CB, but who knows, maybe our World Cup silver medallist will become the steady rock he always tried and failed to be.

Liverpool looks like go all in for the next season, Klopp buy many good players on defense position. Liverpool looks very promising, with alisson+vvd and firmino+salah+mane, good at defense and attack, wow gonna wait for it.

^  Well said.  I have to say...  I don't think I've ever read a post that long that made any sense in the gambling section.  Almost all of the time, it's just a mindless repeat of what's already been said and nothing else.

Anyway good luck to LFC and Klopp.

Thanks buddy... to be honest, these days I mostly skim through the thread titles on Page 1 to find anything interesting. Otherwise I look through the forum and look at last replied by, and sometimes it's just the familiar name that gets me reading. We've got quite a lot of crap but yeah, sometimes it's these gambling ones that are the worst, because everybody knows enough about football to try and repeat what a guy said a few posts above, in a different way.

Is it my imagination or has that crap gone down a bit since world cup? It used to be really bad earlier this year.

Thanks for the good wishes. Liverpool or anyone else, the EPL needs a new champion. I have good hopes for Newcastle to get Europa action too.

Heh.  I was kidding...  Lol.  But it would be nice if more of you guys join the betting pool.  The more players there are, the bigger the prizes and more places are paid.

Maybe it could be a good idea to find sports betting site to sponsor this next time and have their banner displayed at every first post of each page.

Not sure about all the touted benefits, but there's always fun to be had and willing losers in that pool, if last season's one was anything to judge;) Hopefully more people join up, and I'll be trying ANOTHER contest of my own, but let's see first if I'm up for more disappointment.

Preseason friendlies. I never watch, but hey, why not put a bet on Liverpool against Blackburn Rovers @1.36? https://www.bitcoinrush.io/sportsbook/ShareBet?id=k2yo4DSwMKAzJn%2Bvvaxet%2BTvA%2Bzgld4b02rN%2FHvojBY%3D

Just read with sadness that Ox might miss out the entire season, and don't want to get my hopes too high for Allison, but lots of things to be positive about. Bitcoin attempting another climb too, so yay. Hope springs eternal.

Nice, won that quite comfortably. I should have bet when it as 0-0 and they made all those subs, the odds were 1.85 on a win, but decided I'd already risked enough for a friendly! The second half team was much stronger I think, (on paper, I didn't watch) and you can almost always count on Sturridge popping up to score.

They've given #10 to Mane now, so it's a very nice 9,10,11 forward. More friendlies coming up, and Club World Cup (still a friendly, no matter what). I'll put a weekend bet down tomorrow.

^  Seriously?  Does that mean Ronaldo to Juventus is a lock?  Cos it would be sooo hilarious if he ends up somewhere else.  Cheesy

^  There's only one EPL club that Ronaldo is willing to play at.  Man United.  It would be more of an insult if he played elsewhere in that league.

Tbh I'd like to see him back at United and hopefully make Messi turn his head and follow Pep at City.  Cheesy

...  A guy can dream right?  Lmao.

I can’t see either of them coming to the PL to be honest, just a hunch but I can’t see it.

Well I can see Ronaldo coming back to United at some capacity...  Maybe a part of the coaching staff being groomed to be a manager ala Zidane...?

Sports apparel stores in Turin have started selling Cr7 shirts already lol. Looks like Real Madrid won't be able to hold onto the star for another season. Juventus are ready to offer Ronaldo a lot of bonuses if he signs with them. By the way I am not sure if Ronaldo would like to play under Mourinho at United. I think there was some talk about him returning to the club at a later stage but that was when Sir Alex Ferguson was still the manager.
