It is related, but your Qora will be of no value in Qortal. Many Qortal users were part of Qora, myself included.

Starting now, I am posting a weekly summary of progress so that the community can have a better idea of what is happening, and be prepared to discuss our progress at the Think Tank.

Week of Feb 26-Mar 1

Monday Dev Meeting:

Tuesday
Qortal Think Tank:

The structure of the Monday Dev Meeting and Friday Marketing Meetings is going to change to make them more efficient:
1. The intended duration for the meetings is 30 minutes instead of the hour or more it used to be
2. There is a new structure: Announcements, then Q&A, Then Conclusion/Discussion to keep the meeting more focused

Crowetic announced a greater focus on the voting system now that the Self Sponsors have been eliminated.

Qortal Seth was paid 800 QORT for the bounty that Adds a Subscriber List to Q-Tube

A new public group called "mesh network and hardware group" has emerged on Q-Chat. This is the place to go for news related to Reticulum updates, testing, hardware, etc.

Friday Marketing Meeting:
Qortal Seth suggested moving marketing focus away from Cold emails and instead on the following:
1. Publishing content exclusively on Q-Tube/Q-Share and letting people on Web2 platforms know it is there while providing links that explain why our content is exclusively on Qortal
2. Make our current/future videos on Web2 platforms have titles that regular people will search for such as: "how to be private online", "censorship resistance", "Best Free Speech platform", etc.

Marketing Ideas/Progress
1. Rory B Bellows has an account on Brighteon named "Qortal Network" and is working on showing them the value of Qortal.
2. Rory suggests giving password in marketing materials that people type in general chat so we know where they came from. He wants us to have our marketing success determined by metrics be only within Qortal, and therefore completely disconnected from Web2 services.

A major update to Q-Tube, our completely decentralized, censorship immune YouTube replacement has been updated with the following features:

Users can subscribe to Q-Tube channels. The Home Page has a tabbed pane that lets users select whether to view all videos or subscriptions only. Subscriptions are saved to the browser, so they do NOT transfer between the UI and chromium browsers. In the future, import/export of subscriptions and publishing them to QDN are planned.

When saving a file, any characters that the Operating System doesn't allow used to be replaced by _ now those characters are removed entirely.

The video type filters on the Home Page use Radio Buttons instead of Checkboxes because they are mutually exclusive, which fits Radio Buttons better. Clicking the button changes the video type without having to click the search button as well

The Video Player doesn't put controls menu over the video anymore. When fullscreen, the controls menu will disappear when the mouse exits the screen while video is playing for a better viewing experience.

Q-Tube statistics are displayed on the Home Page

Supported Codecs are displayed on the Publish Videos page so people know what encoding settings work.


Persistent storage of the following variables has been added:

1. List of Subscriptions
2. Video playback speed
3. Video Type filter
4. Home page currently selected tab

I discovered the thread by looking for information for Qora. Does the project still have anything to do with the Qora or is it a completely unrelated project? I still have some Qora token and wonder if I can do anything with it in this project.

Node or not the promise was that a percentage of all minting rewards would go to the original accounts that migrated over to QORT and this percentage would be spread equally amongst these accounts.

Having a node was not part of the proposal, just ownership of said account.

Are you running a node ? I've been running a node since the launch of qortal and getting my rewards so far , even if they are far less at some point than what was originally proposed .

Those promised dividends from the QORT mining have never made it to my wallet.

Where are they? I have one of the original accounts from QORA and you promised everyone with an account who transferred over to QORT would get dividends for staying with the project.

But just because the post topic here isn't being updated actively, does NOT mean there isn't a TON going on with Qortal. Because there IS.

Newest Q-Apps now running on Qortal's decentralized/distributed/encrypted/chunked data network (QDN):


Q-Mail - now live, and not only live, but now has 'Threads' and encrypted group messages within them. (Threads are essentially 'message boards' where you can post in private Qortal groups) VERY cool. Threads also have Q-Chat on the right side, so you can chat and message in threads at the same time, VERY productive environment. Development chat will be moving to Q-Mail after the next couple performance and scaling focused Qortal Core updates.

Q-Shop - Q-Shop is now live, allowing users to create and manage multiple Q-Shops. List items for sale in QORT, and buy/trade completely P2P. Addition of Qortal-AT-powered decentralized automated Escrow will be coming in the future. https://qortal.link/APP/Q-Shop

QBrighteon - Mike Adams of brighteon.com has contracted our assistance in building QBrighteon, the Qortal-powered Brighteon. At the moment there are two-channels from brighteon.com being auto-published on QBrighteon. Health Ranger Report, and BrighteonTV. Ear-Bump - Ear-Bump is a Q-App focused on being a music platform (basically a decentralized version of Spotify) - Ear-Bump allows playing and publishing music, creating playlists, favorites, and more. Very functional and awesome. https://qortal.link/APP/Ear-Bump

Q-Blog - I don't know if I have already mentioned Q-Blog here or not, but... Q-Blog is Qortal's first 'social media' focused Q-App. Publish videos, text, music, files, images in a blog-like post, even with a custom 'builder editor' that allows placing your post content exactly as you like. In the longer-term Q-Blog is going to become a fully featured 'web builder' that allows addition of 'blocks' of HTML/JS content, to create fully featured web presences from within Qortal. https://qortal.link/APP/Q-Blog

Q-Fund - Q-Fund is Qortal's decentralized/automated AT-powered CrowdFunding (QrowdFunding) platform, which is currently in development and will be getting launched in the near future. Sounds interesting

The Qortal UI now has 'auto buy' - this functionality essentially allows for 'buy orders' to take place on the trade portal.


You can put in an amount of QORT you wish to buy, and price you're willing to buy up to. Auto buy does the rest. Picks up every order under the price you set, starting at the lowest and working its way up, that you can afford.


The auto buy orders are not 'public' so that is essentially the only 'difference' between auto buy and a 'buy order' in the sense that most people are thinking of when they say 'buy orders'.


There are technical reasons as to why on-chain buy orders are not a thing, as the other coins involved in the trades need to be able to be 'escrowed' such as QORT is in the AT during the placement of a sell order.

We have discussed methods among the developers to make this take place with the existing AT system of Qortal, and we believe it is possible, but it is not the primary development focus right now.


The development is currently focused on Q-Apps, which will allow essentially any application to be built on top of Qortal's infrastructure. This is an extremely exciting new addition to the Qortal Data Network, and will allow essentially everything people use on 'the internet' to be rebuilt on top of Qortal easily. Opening up multiple API calls to Q-Applications hosted on the distributed decentralized QDN.

This, along with the first few Q-Apps are the focus at the moment, to get Qortal to the point of literally being able to rebuild anything.

Blogs, video hosting platforms, social media, all types of communications, etc.
