Re: Quickest way to earn merit?
I thought that this is a guide on how to earn merits. I was just eager to read and extend my merits could, it seems that I am stocked here for some times. But unfortunately for me, it's someone wanting to know how to jump from newbie to legendary.

What you write, how you write which includes the tone, quality grammar correctness, tenses, facts, generally the make up of your  comments and whether reader agrees  or not determines if you get merits.

So do your research well. Write about what you think within the purview of Bitcoin , and cryptocurrency. Write concisely, accurately, sensibly.
All the above listed are correct and needed to earn merits. But then, if you implement all and there's no merit source looking your way, I'm sorry you are stocked.

I'm new here. What's all about this merit count? How is it earned? I'm assuming it's linked to the quality/usefulness of your posts/replies? Their originality maybe? What are usually the subjects you'd get the more merit for posting about?

Nothing else or any sort of magic performance will earn you merit here; the only things that can earn you merit are your posts, discussions, and ideas that will earn you merit. As long as you understand the forum, getting merit won't be too difficult for you; occasionally it may be challenging, but as long as you understand the forum, you will get merit. However, you also need to have what we refer to as patients. Without patients, visiting this forum will make you disinterested in it. Many people come here and decide not to return because they did not anticipate the experience as they did. For this reason, I would advise you to exercise patience.

Make sure your post is so good that anyone who reads it in the forum will feel compelled to give you merit. By this I mean, the way you post, respond, or quote someone with your well-reasoned conversation will also earn you merit. However, before you do that, I would also advise you to educate yourself on cryptocurrencies, as they are very important to everyone in this forum. Additionally, I have noticed that many people have already given you answers, and by following their advice, you will succeed.

Just keep posting right and keep being active, I think that is the best and fastest way to earn merits along the line, many newbies have put pressure on themselves all in the aim of trying to gain favour in the form of merits, but along the line, this pressure drives them away from the fundamental purpose of this forum and how it works, forum member reward efforts and if you have taken ti. e to read and research,  there is no way to not earn merits because your efforts will always get rewarded at some point along the way.
Time and time again we have seen many threads seeking to know the best and most effective way to earn merits, but all the while the replies have always been the same and that is contributing qualitatively to discussions and making your post valuable to other members of the forum.

Op exactly what intend asking as a newbie , But when I go through some thread I realzied that merit is given here based on the quality nature of your post And How concise And precise you place your words on the Topic you are discussing . The forum basically is filled with brainy And knowledgeable people who see the relevance of your Topic   And whether It worth To be merited or not . Therefore I believe merit is given here on the grounds of quality And precision of your Topic .

Can you imagine if for example satoshi coming here with a newbie account and people attack him for being a merit/account farmer? Or talk nonsense about him?

The reality is that even if Satoshi is coming back as a newbie, he would never have made a post in such regard that will warrant anyone to talk to him that way or manners, the way some people post is just all about the reflection of how their real personality is in real life.

Most of people here are some teenagers with no life experience, so they say stupid things, but the reality here is the following :
Sucking up for gang members and campaign managers will earn you thousands of merits, that's it, that's the easiest and quickest way. 😂

Welcome, I apologize on behalf of everyone who'd disrespected you. 🤝

This forum is not a cult and you can't say that ganging up is what will give you upper priority to make merit, just show yourself approved and knowledgeable and see If you wouldn't end up being merited often by those who appreciates your quality posts.

You've seen what you did that got you merited and I feel you will get more of them ymif you just keep going in that manner. Give an info.ation that is useful in forum, answers and a cakear a doubt to a follow and make meaning contributions in the forum and your merit will creep in as fast as the ones you've gotten already.

You don't need to rush to get merits dude. If you become too desperate to get merits then you might get the contrary if you miss the track.
One of the ways you can get merits from the forum is by writing good content which is going to make people to give you merits.

He is not in rush but rather just asking question about merit. It’s common newbie question since merit is vital for rank up. There’s nothing wrong to ask for this kind of info.

Quote
You don't need to rush things because you might get a negative or neural trust along the way if people find you too desperate for merits hunting.
You just need to keep doing what you are good at and you will see merits coming your way.

It’s not worthy a negative feedback if a user is posting to earn merit since it does mean that he is providing quality post that’s why he is hoping for merit. The only time it will be a  worthy of negative trust is when the user contributes shit post and demand merits for it because that can be considered as spamming.

I'm new here. What's all about this merit count?

Merit is used to rank your profile. Ranking up will give you the feature of wearing an avatar and a signature, and you will also be considered an old member, and you could be trusted by more than zero merit members.

How is it earned? I'm assuming it's linked to the quality/usefulness of your posts/replies? Their originality maybe?

Your merit status is better than 90 percent of all newbies who come here to rank up their account. 38 merits with just 8 activities is very impressive. Yes, quality is the first priority for Merit Source. All you have to do is impress members with your creativity and knowledge.

What are usually the subjects you'd get the more merit for posting about?

I hope you already have your answer. Check your profile, and you will see which posts give you the most merit. Just continue spreading helpful information in the technical section, and you will get more.

I'm new here. What's all about this merit count?
Apart from requiring a number of activities, you need to collect a number of merits to rank up. The aim of implementing a merit system in forums is to eradicate spammers who make rubbish posts in forums. In the past, rank up was only calculated based on the number of activities, due to the large number of spammers who only pursued the number of activities as one of the requirements for rank up, the Admin tried to introduce a merit system in the forum.

How is it earned?
It's not as difficult as you think, haven't you already done it in this post Using Bitcoin as a trusted clock?. When other users assess your posts as quality that provides benefits for other members, they will reward your posts with Merits, that's how the merit system works in forums.
Every time you get +1 Merit, the accumulation will increase by 0.5 sMerit. Now you can send 19 Merits to other members if calculated based on the number of merits you have received. No need to hoard sMerit, you can spend it on other members if the posts are quality in your opinion.

When looking your account and see your stats. All I can say is that  you are a good one 7 post, 7 activity  but earned 37, merits that's quite good enough  those topic you've created last December 1,2 is the best example if thread or post that can earn bunches of merits which is pretty sure that there are more topics in you . Anyways good luck to your journey here in Bitcointalk that is a good start earning  a lot of merits in a few days.

Your assumption has actually answered your own question. And I think you have the potential to be a good quality poster. Because I see your first post is very useful so you can get 37 Merits even though you have only made 7 posts. Merit is required to make your account get a ranking increase on this forum. So it is natural that many users try harder to get it. And Merit also encourages every user to contribute more to fellow users in this forum and also to this forum itself. But don't think too much about Merit. Just focus on creating quality posts that are beneficial for everyone who reads them. And it's not just a matter of creating a topic. But it is also about answering every user who needs an answer to a problem related to the topic discussed in this forum. And to be a good forum user and be useful to other people. Of course, broad insight is needed. So a learning process is needed to get it. So just focus on adding insight and sharing insight. And believe me, Merit will come naturally from the generous hands on this forum and from Merit Sourch who always helps increase the motivation of every user on this forum with their Merit shots which are always right on good users.

You are new to this forum though, but your posts and qualifications don't seem like a newbie. May be you are an experienced and old user this is your new account due to which you earned merit easily. Your posts are of good quality which is why you are able to get merit and if you spend more time with this forum you will definitely get more merit. The way you post about the basics and the style of your posts looks like you are an experienced person, you have enough knowledge about the forum. If you try you can definitely get a good position with your account at some point so you make your quality posts and from these you can qualify and move up.

Imo, originality is paramount. Whatever you post, be original. Most merits I earned was from memes topic [1], created those memes in few minutes and it earned most, other topic was this [2] — I merely shared my experience here.

If you are devolper and have an ability to bring something special such as Talkimg, Tryninja telegram bot, ninjastic space Loycev or Mining work then go for it and you will get bulk Merit on your single post. Remember it's not easy task and only few members had ability to do but nothing is impossible. You can also find spammer/scammer but merit is not guaranteed there especially as a new member.

As a normal user you can contribute to healthy discussion , reply straight to the topic, help newbies , share valuable knowledge in the local board and I hope you will rank up quickly but your first priority should be learning Then you will be not regret if you don't get merit on your post, you got one thing which is knowledge, worthy than merit.

Whenever you will make valuable post on this forum and some people find it more and more valuable to themselves or if they think it might be proof as an asset for the entire BTT forum like other members or maybe for newbies. Then they might appreciate your contribution with merits.

And yes originality is necessary for your post to get some merits and by originality it does not mean you can remove plagiarism and can post anything here but it means you have to become a creative one. Comes with new and good posts that would not only help newbies but also legendaries of this forum.

The quickest way will be to contribute on good topics, share useful data and spend time in your local boards where your local community might get you more merits because there is at least one merit source in each community and their job is to distribute merits among the local community but the merit will be given based on merit only. Or you can apply in different merit distribution schemes and can get some merits if you can.

OP I checked you already have more merit than you post. At least that better explains some more points to your questions. When you proffer solutions or answers and people deem it fit, they give you merit as it pleases you. For instance I will use your topic created because that was a good idea after I had read it and as you can see, you earned some merit from the post which tells you that the quality of your post and being creative too can earn you merit but that should be a secondary focus and taking your time to learn more about the forum should likely be a primary thing of focus now and watch how fast and speed you grow coupled with your quality posts and creativity.
