http://bigpicturemining.com/  <--- still not ready for orders as we are trying to get accurate numbers on the shipping from Batam via DHL. In the meanwhile you can have a look around the site for now.

perhaps this is another dumb question, but is pricing of 0,99 BTC final?

Price: BTC0.99 1-9
10 or more BTC0.89
50 or more BTC0.79

Also no it is not the highest price we could have chosen. We are trying to price these to compete with asicminer

The Asicminer design is a proven design.  This board is not.

As a confirmed Capitalist, I believe that you should charge whatever the market will bear; however, if I have a choice between a proven device like a Block Erupter, and an experimental device like this at the exact same price, I will go with the more market-proven device every time.

Good luck with your sales.

If you want 1 it is perfectly priced since our members went back and forth on this very point. I would also say that by posting our prices the competition immediately lowered prices for their Block Erupters. So ya I think we are ok for now with .99 BTC.

If you want hundreds of these K1's we can talk about even larger discounts directly with the Coop.

Also there are some group buys. Beastlymac is running one. So there are options to buy your K1 Nanos from us at much reduced rates from .99 BTC per unit in the form of Group Buys. Hope that helps. We welcome the dialogue on prices remember we are miners and fanboys of BitCoin just like everyone else so we are trying to find a happy middle ground for everyone. Also we want to ship as many as we can as soon as we can just to get revenue flowing back to BKKCoin. Given the competition for these kinds of units and the current prices we really feel it is the right move to offer K1s in such a pricing structure. Time will tell if the community agrees.

We appreciate the question madmax_ger.

got it, it is.
is this the wrong place or may I ask if you don't believe they are overpriced? I remember some people thinking about end prices far below this and I'm about to believe this end price is way to much for estimated delivery date. Just to be honest, it's the highest pricing you could have chosen, isn't it?

Sorry if this is a dumb question. What is the expected hash rate of your USB units?

In terms of a K1 is 350+ possible with the current design with a hub that provides the right power?

I think 350 may be possible but is pushing it. Above that you would definitely need to change parts on the K1 board. Replace AP6502A with AP6503A for 3A output (probably a good idea now but beyond what a std USB port can supply anyway), and replace the inductor with one that can handle more current. I haven't looked that up yet but it would need to fit on the same pads.

Well the idea would be to put a 2nd layer with a fans above or also thinking of a laptop cooler type fans the larger 300mm but it would be a couple of months before we had something like that. I was able to find new Ipad sync 49 port usb hubs for under $900 but that is still 19$ a port. Only option get one made.

The only thing i thought of on hub would be amazing if you maybe add power connectors to connect computer fans to it.  Keep a little air flow with that many USB miners.

Sorry if this is a dumb question. What is the expected hash rate of your USB units?

Nope not a dumb question...

256 is the basic clock rate I believe that BKKCoins is using for the firmware / cgminer but he has had the chips on his K16 board stable at 341 Mh/s with heat sink and fan. As this is a work in progress and given that he is putting out a new beta revised K1 and K16 board next week not sure what the final numbers will be.

282 Mh/s is the standard for Avalon chips.
450 Mh/s is the highest you could reach in optimal / aggressive cooling with a perfect chip under perfect conditions (oil cooling / water block cooling).

My guess from what I read. 350+ with a good heat sink and fan. Our K1s will have a decent sized heat sink so spacing on hubs will need to be sufficient for our K1's. We will post which hubs fit best with our K1s. We are sourcing a few different hubs. Also read carefully the last few pages of BKKCoins testing it is very important to have a good hub, wires, and controller to lower HW errors.

Just teasing out the last little problems with the website everyone. We should be ready with it Monday at the latest. Note there is a group buy available to get those lower prices right now with Beastlymac. Tentative shipping prices are posted there as well. As we are doing BTC only our shipping prices will be estimated and before delivery we will confirm based on exchange rate as we have to pay in fiat for shipping.

Indonesian community members there is also a group buy here:

I haven't seen it happen again after changing the USB cable to the high quality one from my Canon camera that has a ferrite core near the board connector.

I've wired in the inverters now. The signal has very sharp/fast rise times now and it's easy to see the clock delay is 50nS. I tested it manually in ktest and got all GOOD nonces up to 420 MHz doing repeat work filling the queue . At 430 MHz they came back BAD.

Unfortunately on cgminer the error rate hasn't improved. I haven't run that long yet but I'm seeing 3% - 5% error rates. I believe this is now related to noise on the PLL and instability. It can go quite a long time with no errors, and just when I think Ok, it's down to 1% now, but then a bunch pop up and it's back to 3%.

I'm moving onto final board revisions now. Hope to have a new K16 release later today and k1 tomorrow sometime.

Pentel Asks:

Any update on the Klondike K1 Nano USB Bitcoin Miner's?

BKK Responds:

I expect to complete a final revision of the board in a couple days, and then order a batch for final testing. The K16 has been verified and this is based on that, uses same firmware and cgminer driver, which are working, though quite basic still. Once boards are ordered I'll have time to polish the code and get a bootloader added (which allows upgrading via USB).

For anyone planning to use the board design for their own project / products, note that I will be changing it to the QFN version of the PIC and the parts list will have some changes.

The K16 has been running quite well for me in testing. The HW error rate is still a bit high and I think some board changes planned will help with that.

Yes my error everyone. The entire length is 50 mm. I will have revise my picture. Thanks roybitcoin for pointing out my error. The guys doing the buying of the heat sinks have the right measurements I on the other hand was a tad sloppy there.

Given that a typical USB plug is 14 mm I will assume that the board for the K1 is 39 36 mm. To check this someone can verify on the Github files for the K1.

Almost. I just measured a board here. Your 39mm is 36mm. The 25 is ok but when cut from a panel of 2 or 4 would probably be 24mm, depending on cutter blade loss. So that is determined by how you assemble them. Most PnP shops will want to put lots of those in one big panel because they're just too small to do one by one. - BKKCoins

Updated Parts List for K1Nano.

As we are sourcing parts from outside Indonesia and brought in our prices for parts are higher and our fabrication is in Batam for the boards.

What will you be approxmiately assuming size wise of these Nanos?

USB Drive - Powercable on a small unit or a big rig?

50 mm x 25 mm are the square dimensions.

Note: If the K1 is cut from inside two other boards then the board width could be 24mm according to BKKCoins.

CHECK FOR CORRECT LENGTH FOR HEAT SINK (36mm x 25mm x 10mm)

You plug these K1 Nanos into a USB port or hub.

We are currently sourcing hubs, raspberry pi's, sd cards. We will post more information as soon as we have fully tested our burn hubs. Potentially we want to be able to burn in a large number of K1s at a time so we will definitely have a robust hub that can handle a 24 hour burn in.

The heat sinks, which are attached with an adhesive heat sink pad material at the end of fabrication, is 10 mm high on top of the board height. So be aware of that for spacing on hubs. We want to make sure the heat sink is sufficient for our users for potential over clocking beyond 282 Mh/s. Given the test so far BKKCoins has had stability with air cooling and fan at 341 Mh/s per chip. We are confident that he will push the design further.
