Please read very carefully the WhatsPower P3 power supply tech specs sticker.
You can't use 110V.

You need to have an professional electrician build you a 220V circuit.

Please also notice that M3 is really old miner and your cost running it is significantly higher than the mining rewards.

I'm new to this space, so please forgive me if I'm late to this thread. I recently acquired the whatsminer M3. Does anyone know if this device will be viable if plugged in to a regular wall outlet (110v)?

If it is not an official firmware from MicroBT, I would not put it in to a M3.

Yeah, the tachometer in the fan may be faulty even though the fan is spinning

So if the fan speed is not detected mining won't start, because they work fine.

switch the fans and see if the 0 speed fan moves from fan zero to fan one.

this would mean the fan has an issue and you need to buy a fan.

hello gays
my whatsminer M3 wont start mining.
I have this message on my API LOG
 system error state: slot:0, cgminer:1, pool:1, fan:0, temp_sensor:0, temp_over_heat:0, power_supply:0, effective_chips_error:1
and it also says :
 Detect fan[0].speed:0
Detect fan[1].speed:5430
could it be the reason of the problem.

I have WhatsMiner M3X unit, and it is rebooting too often without any reason. I've updated firmware to latest (2019 18.1), but that didn't help.
I tried different pools but it is always the same behavior - device boots itself, works for some minutes (something between 2 and 40 minutes) then reboots, booting itself up and repeats and repeats.
I don't think it's a temperature issue because it shows 82 C degree as a max on SM0 device (77 and 78 on two other SMs).
Are there any means to stop it constantly rebooting?

Whatsminer's do not have on-board Vcore regulators like the S9 and many other miners do. They use the PSU to directly control voltage fed to the chips. That 3-wire connection is the voltage sense and control wires so no, it will not work with a regular 12V PSU.

Hi all,

Can someone tell what the 3-pin cable from the PSU to the miner actually does please?

If I don't plug in the 3-pin cable, my M3 miner stops, is there a way around this as my other PSU that doesn't have the
3-pin cable and is quieter so, I would like to swap over to this one PSU. Any ideas?

Can an alternative PSU be used for the M3?
I've read different posts about the mysterious 3-pin 'Power control cable'. Is this cable necessary for the miner to work properly?

Yes. Custom one of psu.

Soo you now have a dead unit.

This is true for.

All innosilicon t2 24 t2 26 t2 30 t2 37 t2 50 t2 57

At least Pangolinminer was selling spare psu’s you could have purchased one ahead of time.

I have 2 spare psu’s for my m10’s and as soon as I see a psu listed for the m20s I will buy one.

When the device is very warm, it does not turn off automatically. Which version of the firmware should be used to automatically shut down?

Does it stop hashing?

Can you post a screenshot which shows your miner status page which shows the hash rate, temperatures, etc. ?

@taktazsoft
There is a 'too hot' -feature in the firmware already.

Hello
Is there a firmware that if the temperature rises, turn off the device and do not damage the hashboard?
