Maybe we could say that this is the (perfect) time for gambling addicts to come out from addiction but we don't know if they have that thought. I'm not sure if they are taking such action or maybe they will find a way to continue their pleasure in gambling. It is not the pandemic or lockdown that could make them stop but it is all about how much willing they are coz if they want to get out from that addiction, they should have to do it at any time.

With almost all people stay at their homes, they are trying to search the gambling website, and they will try to gamble from home. I think that can make the gambling website more popular, and maybe from now on, the gambling website will have a new audience because many of them are a gambler who likes to gamble offline.
If they don't care about their family and even though they are starving or lacking out of money but choose to gamble then they will always find a way to do it.

With what happened, it not only benefits the Earth but it also give benefits to the gambling website owners too as the traffic is increasing since more gamblers around the world are still gambling online even though there is a pandemic that we are facing. This will make their revenue rise up and probably some of the gamblers will just gamble online instead of going to a casino to gamble there since it is less hassle for them.

With the question, an gambling addict can come out of the addiction anytime they want as long as they are willing to remove it. Any gambler who doesn't have the mind to change will always be a gambler. In order for a gambler to come out, he must be ready and willing to sacrifice everything if he really wants to because it will be useless if we are doing it forcely.
Yeah gambler can come out of gambling addictions anytime but they will have to be ready for it and always stay strong if once you decide to do it. Some people become so addicted that they lose their self control but now is really good time for them to come out of this addiction as they are compel to stay at home and not to go to casino so such good time to reduce will of gambling.

addicts will always find a way to fulfill their passions...
Traditional casino addicts are definitely moving online casinos to meet their addictions, closing traditional casinos because this plague will not make them stop.

I definitely think the same, addicts will always find a way! Its working in other way too, if they really wish to quit they will quit! Nothing can be done if someone doesn't wish that to be done! On forum here there're many topics about gambling addiction, but rarely I see that someone is addicted, people just talk about how they gamble, someone thinks about quitting but nothing seriously. What can be a purpose of creating so many gambling addiction threads? To warn people what can happen them, so they can be careful with their gambling activities! I hope we did affect some people to rethink their gambling habits and to think how much money they spending on gambling, if that is the case than all this topics worth something!

This might be the right time, but I think it still depends on the gambler because even if this lockdown affects everything including sports, they can still do other gambling activities.
This lockdown may be used as their chance to at least lessen or totally recover from their addiction, it is all about their choice and their willingness to forget their gambling activity.

The right time to eradicate the gambling addiction doesn't depend on certain circumstances such as the pandemic. It is the initiative of a person on how well or worse he has been gambling so far. If one person cannot control it, he will always find a way to gamble regardless of which circumstances we're under. He can opt to gamble online amidst the pandemic anyway, and when everything is fine, he will surely rush to cure his hunger to gamble again.

This pandemic is just a break for those heavily addicted gamblers.

As we all know , Coronavirus has impacted each and every industry in the whole world and sports isn't an exception .

If you take a look at this  , https://www.nytimes.com/article/sports-canceled-coronavirus.html or https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/coronavirus-and-its-impact-on-sporting-events-please-add-5232295 you will get to know how many tournaments across different sports have been affected .

But the question is , is this the right time for gambling addicts to come out of addiction? The assumption I am making here is  that the gambling addicts are addicts on sports betting and not casino game addiction or poker .

Why this question is because although I wanna bet on sports ( which I have been doing every week since 8 years ) now I cannot .

As for me, it's the best time for gambling addicts to quit gambling for a while. Our economy is dropping down and our future is still unpredictable. We couldn't rely our necessities in the government so instead of risky the funds that we have, we better save it for the future. It's a matter of survival so you have to make wise decisions on how you handle your money. We all know that gambling is not all about winning so there's no assurance that we could gain back a good profit. We better think of our family's future so if the worst situation comes, we still have something to sustain them.
There are people who have the mindset of just earning money knowing that they could lose in the run but the percentage of the trust in their skill is more dominant. Adding the scenario that the economy is dropping down, The gambler might take this chance to gamble more to earn some money to sustain himself into the time of crisis. I know there are people like this that have the gut to gamble even they have the possibility of loosing and bring more disaster into him.
Unfortunately,  your scenario is more real than theories mentioned here. Reality always overweight the total sum of guessed probabilities. Gamblers will force themselves to analyze the all games on flashscore or in another match analyzing sites for finding their edge which works as their money multiplier.

If we really wanted  their are always so many ways we could do gambling even at this times we already know that going to a casino is not going to be an option here because of the coronavirus that could potentially kill you. Their are always limit here even in addiction I don't really believed that someone cannot control her self just because his addicted to this simple things surely their are some higher responsibility like at this times would you risk getting arrested than doing gambling. Imagine you are lock in a room? For sure you can last it not doing gambling or smoking because you cant really do it. Probably your right that this is the  right time for the gambling addicts to change since they cant really do it at this moment, if they don't completely lose their mind for sure family or self is still going to be their priority.

This should really be think up to those people who do have just an average income or do only have the right amount of budget when it comes to living but for those people who do have lots of money then for sure they wouldnt really mind if they would gamble as they want since they do know that they do have lots of money into their pockets.

Its indeed the best time to quit or refrain from gambling but not totally yet we can still play but on a controlled manner because seeking out for some entertainment
into these days are common since we are just staying on our home but we should consider that saving up is much more worth to be done for.

Well, that was true. With the current situation we have right now, not any single person or sector all over the world is exempted because all are affected by this pandemic. Even the gambling industry is suffering specially for those people who bet on live sports event which are all currently being cancelled because of the lockdown restrictions.

Maybe it is the time for the gambling addicts to better think of it if they will tend to give up their addiction on gambling and just prefer to do gambling with proper moderation and just play it for fun or just stick and continue on getting addicted on playing gambling games. Since we are talking about sports betting addiction, then maybe it is a time now for them to temporarily stop for a while because there is no way they can play sports bet for the live sports game cannot be done this days. Maybe this situation taught us something to think about if we will still continue to our old lifestyle of playing gambling  or play in moderation after this situation to avoid addiction.

Yeah your right especially to those gamblers who gamble to sports because most of the sports are close right now due to the pandemic like basketball, soccer, hockey and etc. But most of the gamblers who gamble to other types gambling can still gamble via online as online casinos are very popular right now.

But I am sure that there are many gamblers right now that are unable to gamble so I am hoping that it will slowly cure their addiction and come out of addiction someday.

This lockdown may be used as their chance to at least lessen or totally recover from their addiction, it is all about their choice and their willingness to forget their gambling activity.
Their addiction is possible to not gone because if they still playing gambling when they are playing through online.
We don't if they have addicted players who stop playing gambling after this lockdown . But Im pretty sure that the others will become addicted due to this because they can play more gambling at home when they are bored.
the thing is do they have money to play in this season?when everything is in effect of the pandemic?

i think they will mostly find other thing to enjoy than just to gamble, family time maybe?or some recreational thing at home.

Correct. I guess it is accurate to assume that most of them don't have the funds to spend in gambling, because their everyday necessities is more important. However, this lockdown could either affect them positively and negatively. Positively if they come up to the point where they decided to stop their gambling addiction or playing gambling every day, negatively if this lockdown make them even worst, because their urges in playing would be contained in themselves and it could explode after the lockdown is over.

It always depends on the personality. If you are addicted you will find other ways if you can't go to the casino anymore because of the current pandemic. You need to have a strong will or you might e.g. gambling online or get addicted to online betting. Nevertheless the current situation offers the chance to get rid of your addiction, but its hard. Only you can do it, you need to stop.

I bet even the non-gambler would play during these days of pandemic, why? because we are all bored for just staying at home. Obviously, us, gamblers would get so much time playing in online casinos
and quitting or coming out of addiction in gambling is pretty impossible for now although it really depends on the person if he really wants to quit. Gambling is not as conventional as the others think, it also comes along
with getting rid of anxiety and depression.

It is doubtful this is going to have a positive effect on those that are addicted to sports bets, I have met a few people like that and they bet on everything regardless of whether they actually know the sport or not, even right now there must be some sort of sports events around the world and that could be enough for them to keep on betting, also I am pretty sure you could find bets like when a particular league is going to comeback? Or will the whole season get cancelled? As such like always the only way to beat an addiction is to make a conscious effort to get out of it regardless of any other external factor.

Well-said. It totally depends on the gambler, with or without pandemic. And if you are really a gambling addict, more than likely you need a professional help and in this situation it is hard to get a professional one as everyone is staying at home. But if you think you and your family can help your situation alone, then it's good for you. But one should be sincere about it and not change your stance once the lockdown is over or once the normal situation in gambling activities resume. Will power and total commitment is needed to suddenly change your lifestyle. One should have good emotional or moral support to conquer this fight.
