This is the right time to stop gambling albeit this is a crisis. This circumstance is a very helpful way for people to rehabilitate without going to rehabilitation center.

The outbreak caused a lot of damage both in the health and economic status of all the infected countries; businesses and companies that relies on the demand from the customers are losing  a lot of assets in these times of crisis, but, as bad as the events are going, this could indeed be a good time for gambling addict to take a break and set aside the bad habit and focus on themselves and their family. This might in turn, make them realize what are more important things in life to lessen or lose their addiction.

It is a smart decision to take a break and enjoy the Opportunites of being alone without social interactions. The coronavirus pandemic is not going to end tomorrow or day after tomorrow, so the best recommendation is listening to the professionals and make a wise decision. This stage is also an opportunity for online casinos to increase awareness and attract other gamblers over the world.
Yes, with this incident requiring people to do other activities and work inside the house if that is possible, by choosing to take a break from gambling I feel it is a hard choice for some gambling addicts because even online gambling is like an option that can be done amid the chaos that occurs this, but one thing that is of concern is to continue to prioritize health and a control not to spend too much time just gambling online.
Everything does have its corresponding or right time to be done.To this time on where pandemic arises i dont see a reason for myself to deal too much with gambling yet we know that we are spending money out of the entertainment we do seek but we should always considerate on our lives on how to survive and be sensible to save up money instead for it to be used on other important purposes rather than gambling. Its just too insensitive for you to play and spend money on times like these where people is on panic and you should prioritize your needs first before anything else.

Gamblers whom are addicted to gambling wouldn't find this pandemic as a valid reason to stop them from gambling.
Especially, gamblers who play online gambling, the Covid-19 pandemic will make them stay longer more comfortable at home. This actually will make them more active than previously.

>For me, the valid reason to stop is that they become aware of the negative impacts of being addicted gamblers. Then, they will reduce gambling activities gradually. And the family + close friends support the addicted gamblers to recover.

Some people found gambling and betting be their primary source of income.
I think this should be avoided by people. You risk your life by relying on gambling for your income. Moreover, if you think that gambling can be the primary source. Personally, it will never happen to me!

I think what is happening now gives you a great chance to take a break from your 8 year old sports betting marathon.
Relax, look around, see how your addiction will behave, whether you can feel good without the ability to bet.
This is a great opportunity to explore yourself and your own motivational triggers. Treat this time not as a problem, but as an opportunity to know yourself better.

Very well said. This is a good opportunity to contemplate on what you are doing with your life for the past years.
Assess if it is doing good for you, in terms of your mental health, financial status, or physical health.
And make a decision for yourself, either you give up or continue your lifestyle once this crisis is over.
You should not force yourself because you will only go back to your old habits.

As we all know , Coronavirus has impacted each and every industry in the whole world and sports isn't an exception .

If you take a look at this  , https://www.nytimes.com/article/sports-canceled-coronavirus.html or https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/coronavirus-and-its-impact-on-sporting-events-please-add-5232295 you will get to know how many tournaments across different sports have been affected .

But the question is , is this the right time for gambling addicts to come out of addiction? The assumption I am making here is  that the gambling addicts are addicts on sports betting and not casino game addiction or poker .

Why this question is because although I wanna bet on sports ( which I have been doing every week since 8 years ) now I cannot .

Gamblers whom are addicted to gambling wouldn't find this pandemic as a valid reason to stop them from gambling. Yes it would somehow literally stop them now, but soon after this would all end, the gamblers would continue. Why? Because gambling isn't just a hobby or a source of pure satisfaction. Some people found gambling and betting be their primary source of income. most may be judged as addicted, but somehow this pandemic had negatively affected their jobs.

This is, maybe, only the right time for them to spend time with their families and use their money while on quarantine. And this must somehow enlighten them that they can do other stuffs to be a source of income such as trading or just simply holding good cryptos.

Quit it as soon as possible, the earlier you quit gambling, the safest your money will be assured. You don't want to stay long and get exposed too much, then think about quitting, trust me, the resistance will be futile.
But mate , they know they should quit but they cannot that is why they are called addicts aren't they? They can't help themselves but now is the chance to kick away all teh temptation to bet on sports as there are no sports events for a while . Hope you got my point.

I think you're the one who misunderstood what I've said. Yes I know that they are gambling addicts, and quiting playing gambling for them is tough, but I didn't say that it is mandatory and should be implemented by them as soon as possible. I've said my opinion and advice to let them know what they should do, and again, it will depend on them whether they will take my advice or not.

The only thing that is important to me is to voice out what I could help, to help them realize the thing they should do if they want it to do, in short, it is a choice.

If you are only gambling once a week, I don't think you are out of control. Gambling addiction is an impulsive-control disorder. They will always have the reason to gamble whatever the consequences or the situation is. Less games? they will always find something to gamble on. They do things they never thought they can do, which affect their relationships with family and friends.

Today is a great opportunity but I think it won't matter if the gambling addict isn't willing to overcome it. They will always find something. I read that it is somehow associated with other moods and behaviors such as abuse issues, unmanaged ADHD, stress, depression, anxiety, or bipolar disorder. They need the commitment and willingness to address these underlying causes of addiction, with or without the help of a professional.

With so many news about cancelling the sports game in all country, I think that will be a good sign for people who have addicted to gambling to stop their addicts. They can try to do something else not to think about gambling so they can start a new habit which can help them to prevent from playing gambling. They need to stop their addicts at this moment because it is the right time for them to start a new life. But I am afraid that they will search for another type of gambling games so they will keep playing gambling.

Nice thought.

As for those gamblers that want to quit, this is their best time to do it. It's like they are forced to do it but nature and fate are with them. Take the advantage to lie-low within these times if you think that you have the urgency to quit.

This is like practicing yourself until you quit, if you have decided.
exactly what this means to many, because this is a call of nature for many gamblers and may use this as advantage for quitting.
They can think of it if they are pushy to what they are planning to do. If they have a firm decision and already wants to leave gambling, these are the best times that they can apply it as if the opportunity has landed in them.

This applies for specific bettors who loves to bet with sports but there are still other games that are operational despite the cancelled and postponed games. Again, there is a way if they want to.

Actually the gamblers have the initiative or the common sense on where they should bet or gamble so they will always find way on how they will be able to play aside from going to the casinos in which it is prohibited by the government because of the sign of the coronavirus there are still some online casino in which they can play their just for fun so that they don't need to go outside or go to the casino in order to play.
The impact of corona from prohibiting people to go around offshore gaming house gives traditional gamblers to stop their addictions, I'm talking about those who are not familiar with online gaming as they can find other ways to entertain and not to play gambling for the moment. A good example of 30 day quarantine will lead them to keep being busy to other things in life.

I don't see it as the 'right' time by any means because stopping as soon as possible once the effects of gambling have a significantly negative effect on your life is always best, but it is a good thing for those who are truly addicted to gambling because I find a lot of those people need some sort of external shock to come to their senses or think about what's really been going on with their lives.

It's also entirely possible these people find another type of gambling like roulette or dice to play or something else that involves skill.

But the question is , is this the right time for gambling addicts to come out of addiction?

Nope. You don't have to wait for a virus that is pandemic for you to quit gambling, the right time is when you lost a lot of money, even it is one time big time loss of money or even in the long run, in which you think that you've reached the amount that you could only afford to lose, that is the time to quit. Because if you will still continue because of your addiction, and you can't stop because of your reasoning that it is fun, then you will lose money even more, until nothing is there anymore in your bank account.

Quit it as soon as possible, the earlier you quit gambling, the safest your money will be assured. You don't want to stay long and get exposed too much, then think about quitting, trust me, the resistance will be futile.

As I have talked multiple times on this thread already , I know people don't wait for situation like this to quit gambling but we do have a situation like this and addicts cannot help but have to temporarily stop betting on sports activities for a while  .

I will not really term it as a right time to come out of addiction, but i think its an opportunity to come out of addiction
sorry?but both are the same since that talks about coming out of gambling so why need to bother exchanging the word with same meaning.
There are ban placement on sporting activities and the chances to gamble are less, also staying indoor is certain this days.
but still once a gambler will always a gambler so they will find other games in online casino things that will not be harder for them right?

Addicts should use the time to get closed to television games, and come off gambling addiction in due time.
If the heart is willing, the body is
television games?what do you mean by this mate?sorry but i think i am missing something.
