This depends on what social status they have, if they have no problem when it comes to money, no doubt they will continue playing gambling in different way if not going to casinos, and the other one would be stopping his gambling habits and prioritize what is really needed. I bet they will spend their money on food because our stomachs are way more better when filled with food rather than to satisfy ourselves by playing gambling.

On the other hand, I agree that this current situation that we have right now could help them realize that they could really stop playing gambling and spend or save their money for something more important.

For me Yes it is because this situation forces People(addicted Gamblers the main thing) to not go in casinos or even in community Gambling places.
Though they have option in Online Gambling Yet this wont contented them because it is kinda boring compared to Live Betting.

Gamblers are of two types here according to your theory:
* One are those who will stop gambling, leave their addiction and calm down seeing that the situation is out of control and they may get bored of it and may partially/completely stop gambling.
* Others are those who have nothing to do with what is going on, and they will just eagerly wait to gamble once this ends or will find a new source to satisfy their gambling desires by betting their money on a totally new niche they don't have an understanding of.

Indeed a self realization time where gamblers have no choice but to stop gambling although they can gamble on dice and other instant games but there are no sports events going anywhere so at least sports gamblers can realize how much they were loosing and make a stand when sports betting is back. I have seen so many people being almost dying of anxiety because NBA was cancelled and I cannot imagine how many people were addicted with it and there was a mega cricket event IPL which looks like it has been cancelled too.

At least something good from covid-19 for gamblers that they don't have anything to bet on and lots of time to spend on creative things staying at home.

True, although majority of the gamblers are still betting around with dice, roulette, plinko etc on casinos and there is nothing that can stop such people from gambling. Apart from shutdown I also feel that money you have in hand and banks is much more precious now because there will be a crisis as the economic structure is going to be broken quite significantly.

Anyone who is still gambling should re-consider their decision because the money you are burning might be of massive significance in the coming months an maybe years and you will have to regret a lot once you face that situation and realize how much you had lost. Maybe it is a warning for you, either ways it is just about perspective how you see it, because if you are positive this is a good chance to quit gambling once for all.

I heard this news before and this is not a shocking news. People in our country are hard headed and most gamblers cannot be stopped even if municipalities had carried out orders to stay at home to avoid the spread. People just need to stay home so that the virus can be contained, yet people are not even listening. People will only stop when the situation cannot be contained anymore. The government had to be more strict in making sure that people stays home.

trying to come out of your addiction in these times is futile(I am not saying you shouldn't but it will be harder) because it is not your choice to stop gambling but because you can't because of the quarantine. if you try to rehabilitate right now. I guarantee that if you when the quarantine stopped and everything came back to normal your urge to gamble will come back stronger and you'll be back from the start(of course unless you are actually determined and have the will to actually stop your bad habit).

Most of the cockfighting enthusiast i could say are gambling addicts and with the recent lockdown, they suddenly and abruptly felt the effect of not being to gamble and see those cocks fighting and some of them just could not cope with that, they will always find ways to held those activities illegally which for me is very risky. Those government officials spearheading those illegal acts should be hang in the town plaza

Perhaps, we need to stop gambling for a while to do other things because our life is not for playing online gambling.
