Of course it's a long term investment. I'm also planning to buy Ripple for a long term - no less than 2 years.

Sovryn - Brings DeFi to Bitcoin
Ripple seems quiet in the cryptoworld, but is stable. I think it's ready for another pump when all this Bitcoin drama ends. It's definitely a long term investment for many reasons but one main reason would be because Banks are constantly supporting it's advanced technology.

Ripple is a long term investment. We can expect a few small boosts as more banks join in.

Ripple is long term for the only reason is being good for the banking industry. If banking can get behind it, it's a winner for sure!

I agree this is a long term investment. If bank adoption continues this could be quite disruptive to the current banking system. The current Swift system is outdated and inefficient.

One of the world's leading Bitcoin-powered casinos
I'm thinking of acquiring some ripple but i need to know if it's a short term investment or long term.
Coz i have been following the market trend and I've not seen a steady increase for the past few weeks.
So, is it for long term or short term?
Coz to me it seems the coin has some potential.

Ripple is a banking sector coins , and I think about 11+ countries banks are using it for the transaction of money from one country to another ( but in bank to bank only ) . And according to my opinion of the coins which belongs to the banking sector fields. Are better for the investment , But in actual we can't expect in the increase in the price suddenly , So here if we have investment in such types of the coins then we will needed to wait for long term to increase in the price of such coins .
Well here I have investment in such coins since 1 year and waiting for big profit ( since I am in the profit by 5-6% which is not a decent amount for me ) .

XRP is a strong coin, and this company has a good product that is in demand in many areas, in particular banking. I think it has great potential in the long run.

Non-term investment Cheesy You are buying some tokens issued by a private entity, You know at least IOTA has some thing in common with a real crypto, Even though it had an ICO distribution phase but at least they sold them in an ICO. With ripple you are not buying from ICO, You are not mining, You are buying from a company, They are selling you tokens.

All coins that are doing well today are those with low market circulation.

In case of the XRP there are 38 billion tokens even though they have  a good product. You can invest your profits from alt coins in to XRP but not your hard earned capital.

That was just my thought.

Ripple is good for the long term. It used to be pumped at the slightest news and became more stable. There are working products and partnerships, it has the potential to grow in the long term.

I think ripple is one of those coins which you should surely hold in the long run. It is a coin based upon the idea of global value transfer. It is currently Used by companies such as UniCredit, UBS and Santander and many banks are adopting it for global payment transfers. The coins also has a really strong team and the coin looks really promising in the long run.
The coin has alot of potential to grow and you can expect the value of ripple to be above 0.5$ within 2-3 years for sure.

You should go for long term definitely. The price increase of such coin can't happen in a short time investment. And a long term investment is a more concrete and sure decision. Ripple is centralized and is used by banks, when many other banks would adapt it in order to create a competition to the decentralized cryptos, the reputation of ripple will go up and as a result the price would definitely increase.

The ripple coin is definitely good for long-term investment because it was created to service the banking system, and banks only began to implement it in their activities. In the short term, one must start from the general situation on the market. When bitcoin was pumped up in connection with the forthcoming November fork, the altcoyins fell and at that time the ripple could be bought. Now the altkoins are rising against the background of bitcoin fighting with their clones. It is necessary to monitor the processes and make decisions.

You shouldn't focus on short-term investments to start with, the reason being that cryptocurrencies is a new innovation and there is so much potential for growth, that it doesn't make sense to invest in small intervals. The biggest value will come within the next five years, where consumers and institutionalized investors will start putting money into the blockchain. When this happen we'll see all currencies, including Ripple go up. Ripple is especially well positioned because it has all these partnerships with other institutions and banks and that is helping for people to trust it. It targets the Japanese market which is quite big and has a good exposure to Asia overal, I think it's a great long-term investment and one of the most promising coins out there.

Ripple is a tricky one IMO. Yes, the reasons to buy and hold long stated previously in this thread are valid but to me it seems that by design Ripple is not something that should fluctuate when it gets adopted. This is primarily a blockchain for banks to transfer money between themselves cheaply, they wouldnt want to buy x amount of XRP to transfer only for the recipient to receive less or possibly more.

I think there is some truth in this. Same goes for all coins that are or will used for lowering the costs of transactions, for example buying GPU computing etc. services. They need to have steady rate so that expenses for businesses buying the transactions are predictable.
