During the Grand Final I was watching with interest the video referees who had a pannel In front of them with a wide variety of camera angles. At one point, one of the operators used their fingers to zoom in in the game play frozen in their monitor as a person would do in their camera phone.

I've no doubt the camera clarity for broadcast is that much better (and it would want to be with a global audience watching on).

So.... we just see the MOST lucky champion in the history of Rugby World Cup?.

They win by one point in QF.
They win by one point in SF.
They win by one point in the final.

...and the only team that beat them was Ireland!

For me New Zealand deserve to be the champion, they played way better with one men less, and they missed two chances with the foot. GG For me the red card was TOO MUCH in a final in the frist half, you cant blow that as a red card.

I disagree, IMO the scoreboard reflects the performance of both teams, SA were only
marginally better than NZ. NZ had some very good attacking play but they also
made a lot of errors due to the SA defence and ferocity in the tackles.

The RED card decision was correct, its something the officials have been cracking
down on -head contact-

If NZ had been at full 15 man strength they probably would have won though.

Yes we can have diferent point of views clearly and i understand what yous aid and i also agree in some with you, in high performance sports a nail or a hair can make the diference between being champion and not.

About Ireland yes really sad, it was one of the better team by far.

For example right here, for me the NZ player doesnt have bad faith in  his tackle and was a fast play, you are not thinking about damage or injury the other player and also you dont fully understand the play. Different is for example when in a kick a player knowing he is being late charge with so much force and damage the other player.

I agree with you, it happens so fast, half a second, but thats sport and sport gambling,
the game and result can be determined and changed by a split decision, a mis tackle, or
a momentary loss in discipline.

With Rugby being a simple game with a fair amount of rules the officials are very much
on top of the play so all infringements and errors are caught and dealth with.

Pity for your bet Timelord, would have been nice for one of us to have won.

Pity also that we didnt get more interest from other members to place a wager,
chances are then that someone would have won the pot.

Overnight Australia Vs New Zealand (both men's and women's) NRL Pacific cup games occurred. The Australian men won their game while the Jilleroos lost their game against New Zealand for the first time since 2016.

Thats a big upset for the Jilleroos. The Australian RL is very strong so most people
would expect both the mens ans womens sides to win.

So.... we just see the MOST lucky champion in the history of Rugby World Cup?.

Way too close to call....

The last five minutes were breathtaking. I could see NZ wouldn't be able to maintain possession but then RSA gave it back ... and then it kept going back and forth.

Getting a scrum with 23 seconds to go was near heart stopping.

Congratulations to the victors the Republic of South Africa.

It wasnt a great match, it was riddled with errors from both sides but the conditions
were tricky I suppose.

Yea those last 5 minutes were real nail biting stuff and the scrum in the dying seconds
was real drama. GREAT ENTERTAINMENT

Am back in (should never watch Rugby and surf the net at the same time...)

@aoluain - please post your wallet address to return your wager given neither of our selections won in the end.

In a few hours New Zealand and South Africa clash in the Final of the Rugby World Cup. (The calm before the storm). I haven't heard anything to suggest South Africa will win.

RSA are ahead 12 - 11 after 60 minutes and a no try to NZ followed by a try seconds later.

Through in attention just a little while ago I've managed to lock myself out of my main account while watching the game.

I'm going to have to reset my password a little later today.

Argh with a couple of minutes to go Argentina got a penalty but Sanchez pulled the kick
to the left and the score remained a 3 point difference.

In the end it was Argentinas game which they lost due to too many errors, they had some
great attacking play but couldnt turn the possession into points.

That bet was so close to winning!

Final coming up today

Way too close to call....

NAAAAA MANNNNN completly pissed off, again and again making ton of errors, the first 15 minutes of the game are how you DONT have to play rugby, and in the second half missing that penalty who can put us in a tie.

Is not a England win it was more an Argentina lose, you cant play in that way, we can win this game, and like i said cheika please go home, Sanchez has to be starter every game Cubelli the same, do you see how good the team played with them?.

Asides of that if we want to become one real contender we need to fix all this minor mistakes plus stop having idiot players or cowardy ones, also not make ton of faults.

RUGBY WORLD CUP Bronze Medal Match

Argentina v England

Its half time and England lead, the match actually is riddled with errors and Argentina
while struggling early on came back into it

The odds at half time are 6.25 - 1.15

IMO Argentina should be lower odds, I really think thwy have a stronger chance to win this,
if they can cut out the errors which hands England the opportunity to at least kick their penalties.
Nice pick bro, only few minutes remain before the end of the match currently, and England is only leading by 3 small points (23-26). It was definitively a good value bet, and everything is still possible as of now. On which sportsbook did you find those odds by the way? This is live odds or pre-match ones? Because the ones I've seen for Argentina were way lower than that. So if it's live odds, I wonder if the bookie really evaluated them properly.

Last week was the first week of the URC - United Rugby Championship. The lead up to the
annual competition has kind of been over shadowed by the RWC.

3 of the 4 Irish sides won their matches with Leinster beaten by Glasgow Warriors.
Leinster were missing a lot of key players because they make up a big portion of the
National side.

Parma 36 - 40 Ulster
Connacht 34 - 26 Ospreys
Munster 34 - 21 Sharks
Glasgow Warriors 43 - 25 Leinster

Hmmmm maybe but in a scrum I cant see how they would be able to comment to each other,
Bongi is a hooker and is on the middle of the front row while Curry is a flanker and is
on the edge of the second row...its a good explanation though!

My friends in South Africa says this might just be a huge misunderstanding ... because the front row are using scrum signals that are spoken in Afrikaans. Bongi might have said "Wyd kant" .....which means "wide side" in English and that signal shows the players that understand that signal, which side of the scrum ...will use what tactic.

"Curry" cannot understand the Afrikaans language, so he misinterpreted what Bongi has said..... and Bongi cannot respond to him, because that will reveal the strategy that the South Africans are using in the scrums.  Wink

Rassie Erasmus is Afrikaans and we know he is a Rugby genius, so he will teach the players to use signals that other players from other countries will not understand.  Wink

Ah there was a lot of talk about the pools and how they ended up after being drawn to
be quite skewed!

The only Northern Hemisphere team to win the world cup is England. It seems that the likes
of NZ and SA know the route to the final of a world cup.

IDK, those racist allegations just seem weird, if any team would be sensitive about giving
or recieving racist comments it would be SA.

My prediction = Argentina will win England for the bronze and South Africa will win the All Blanks. (Both matches will not have a score difference of more than 5 points)  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Yup, I am leaning that way too 👍

So World Rugby could only get England to the semi-finals with their easy Pool draws, but then South Africa and the All Blacks with their "Pool of death".. got through to the finals.  Grin Grin Grin Grin

Now I see "Curry" trying to unsettle South Africa with racism allegations towards one of the South African players, before their final match.  Roll Eyes  The quarter finals ended with all the pools being topped with Northern hemisphere teams, but the Southern hemisphere showed true grid to end up in the finals.

Almost too close for comfort.  Yes, I think NZ will win over RSA.  It doesn't look as though anyone is going to take me up on the side wager.

Yesterday I was able to see the low scoring Fiji Vs Cook Islands Rugby League international - a very low scoring game (and slower play/restarts by both teams).

Well I'm not doing a side wager, you couldnt be sure of anything in this WC and
especially in this final.

2 teams both with 3 titles each, the reigning champions v's a team who have
played top Rugby. NZ are only slight favourites @ 1.87 and South Africa COULD
come out and blow them away with their power game.

Whatever way it plays out it should be a cracking match.
