That was a great win by Scarlets, 37 - 28, a bottom of the table team slaying a top
of the table. Scarlets were 27-7 up at one stage. @Welsh - do you think they would
have been able to hold off the Bulls if there was more time to go?
It was touch, and go for a while. Bulls really did turn the pressure up, and you could see the Scarlets caving into the pressure. However, they did really well to be honest. Soaked up the pressure, and then sucker punched Bulls right at the end. In fact, they nearly scored a second try towards the end of that game.

As for your question, if the Bulls played like that the whole game, with that amount of pressure the scoreline would've likely been vastly different. However, that's just speculation, the important thing is the Scarlets actually got a pretty decent result, and possibly an unexpected one for most people.

Yes I know, its just speculation, main thing is they got the job done and held on/finished strong.
They are at home again in their next game against the visiting Edinburgh but in between
that the Six Nations will be on.

I was out all day yesterday and wasn't able to see any games yesterday.

Overseas, I got bets on the Leicester, Saracens, Gloucester and London Irish about to play.

Closer to home:

I won on New Zealand, South Africa and Fiji (to win) then lucked out on Australia who were defeated by France. (3/4)

This morning in Sydney 7's Mens, I'm playing it safe with bets on all the favoured sides:

USA to bet Uruguay, Kenya to bet Spain, Canada over Tonga, Argentina to defeat Japan, after yesterday's games I'll say Ireland to win Vs Grt Britain, then New Zealand over rivals France with a close finish between South Africa and Fiji.

Sydney 7's Women:

Last of the big spenders, I've put a dollar on each of the following:

Canada to bet Spain, ever hopeful Grt Britain to bet hosts Australia, Fiji will give Japan a lesson, as will USA over France then the Irish will show the Kiwis how its done.

I got a few winning bets on for the 7's too! I took Ireland to win against Fiji @ 2.47 which
was a great price and they did the job 12-26.

New Zealand are very strong, they are top of bothbMens and Womens tables.

I find it hard to keep on top of the games, who plays who etc. they are short games so its
all happening hard and fast.

Scarlets I thought were brilliant against the Bulls yesterday, particularly the first half. Some very good attacking play, some questionable defensive efforts, but overall they did what they needed to do. For much of the second half they were pinned back, trying to survive. Then, suddenly they comeback in the dying minutes, and score one try, and almost another.

I will say though, the officiating was absolutely awful at times, and the odd thing is even though it was being played at the Parc of Scarlets I thought the refs were siding with the bulls a lot, and missing a lot of dangerous play by them.

I had only one bet the the weekend, Ospreys away to Zebre to win, and that they did.

The strangest result of the round was Ulsters trouncing of the Stormers, 35 -5, I was expecting
a close game between two top of the table teams.

Rugby 7's are underway this weekend again, this weekend in Sydney. Both Mens and Women's.
I will have a look at the schedule and I might make a few bets.

Round 13 of the URC gets underway again this weekend ahead of the SIX NATIONS next
weekend. I haven't investigated who is playing who yet but will probably add a bet or two
on this also.

This weekend also sees the start of a new women's tournament, "The Celtic Challenge"
between 3 teams, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, this competition will be expanded to
6 teams next year.

Damn - never knew that round in the 7's was on.

Yeh, I almost missed it too.

Quote
Argentina won the men's and New Zealand won the women's.

Sydney, Australia this coming weekend, I will try and make a few bets for that.

I'm going to be out and about all week-end, so I won't be able to place any wagers once the competition gets underway.

@Timelord2067 - sometime soon one of those big paying parlays have to work out !

It might take me a hundred dollars of wagers to get a hundred dollars of payout, but it'll feel nice when it happens.  Cool

On the overall standings NZ lead the field but there is very little 16 points between
1st and 8th place ATM.

On the women's side it's really between 3 teams who have taken all three spots in the last
3 rounds, NZ, AUS and USA. Going forward I suspect the games will be a bit more predictable
than the men's.

The Hamilton sevens mens games are about to get underway in New Zealand.

I've placed wagers on Fiji, Uruguay, France, GB, Ireland and New Zealand.

In the women's games, I've gone with Ireland, France and New Zealand as the other games are too one sided and are suspended or paying $1.01

The games are coming thick and fast.

I'm now placing bets on South Africa, Uruguay, Fiji, Spain, Ireland, France Australia and New Zealand over Great Britain.

Edit again - it's now Sunday the 22nd of January and more games are being played in another hour.

Hamilton 7's Men's.

I going for Canada, Samoa, Great Britain, Uruguay, France, Australia and New Zealand.

In the Hamilton 7's Women's, I'm going with Great Britain, rance, Fiji, PNG and Canada.

I've also done a $1 parlay on both the Men's ($27) and Women's ( $444) above and am working out doing a combined one for another dollar  Grin

Tanked again with the parlays (good thing I didnt do a combined parlay and be out another dollar)

The next round starts over the next hour.

In the men's I'm going for Canada, Spain, Kenya and Samoa.

In the women's, it's the Canadian's, Australian's, New Zealanders and British over their opponents.

Were you able to watch games on the casino platforms?

I was able to watch some Tennis matches last year on Rollbit but I haven't seen any
Rugby on there.

Round 4 of the Champions Cup is under way tonight. I am only going with 3 bets this
round.

La Rochelle to beat Northampton at home @1.2
Sharks to beat Harlequins at home @2.32
Saracens to beat Edinburgh at home @1.38

3 visiting teams to win!

My only wins last weekend were Cardiff, Connacht and Toulon.  I mistakenly put money on Bayonne at $10 (three from four bets placed wasn't bad anyway)

Anyway I'm happy enough with my bets this round.

Round 4 next weekend. Of the 24 teams there are 6 unbeaten, Leinster, Cell C Sharks,
Saracens, Toulouse, La Rochelle and Leicester Tigers. I know it's early days but the stand
out for me so far is Leinster, unbeaten so far in both the URC and this Champions cup.

I'm back to no games being shown at the moment on the gaming sites (don't they want my money??), so I'll have to keep an eye on it as the weekend approaches.

Better betting results this weekend, 3 from 4!

Ospreys v Montpellier - Montpellier to win @1.7

Ospreys were able to hold off Montpellier and win by scoring a try in the 77th minute with a try!

Rugby Union European Champions Cup

Tonight's match IMO after doing a little research could be a close enough affair so I'm going
to pass on betting on that. Both teams are mid table in their respective leagues.

I'm going with the favourites this weekends R3 to try and get some funds back into the wallet!

Gloucester v Leinster tomorrow - Leinster are favourites and are unbackable @1.07

Sale Sharks v Toulouse - Toulouse to win @1.46

Blue Bulls v Exeter Chiefs - Blue Bulls to win @1.47

London Irish v Stormers - Stormers to win @1.69

Ospreys v Montpellier - Montpellier to win @1.7

From last week's URC games it was a horrible round for my bets. Ulster, Cardiff and The Stormers
all lost, Connacht won but by a big
margin than I thought over the Sharks, the only bet I won was on Leinster, so 1 from 5.

The URC is taking a back seat and the Heineken Cup takes off again with Round 3 and 12 games.
Busy weekend coming up, I will have to do a bit of studying before making any bets.

I have emptied my wallet on Leinster.

I won on Leinster too! (but not as good odds as you had) Cardiff lost while Edinburgh won.

The London Irish and Harlequin games are yet to be played - fingers crossed I can break even.

Well I am in the RED this weekend even if the Stormers win today away to Glasgow.

Ulster failed to get past Benetton, I was following the scoreboard on this game and it
seems Benetton were deserved winners, just about, winning 31 - 29. That's impressive
to be able to win again this season against top opposition.

Cardiff, what's the story? to be able to win the two previous games and then lose against
the second last team.

Connacht won,as I thought they would but by a bigger margin than 6.5. I REEEAAALY have
to stop betting this way on Rugby.

Just looking at the odds for Leinster v Ospreys, they are out to 1.17 on Rollbit which
are really great odds considering it's the top team v the #12 team, I haven't listened to
any punditry this week ahead of round 12 but maybe Leinster are resting some key
players ahead of the Heineken cup Round next week, also the talisman Johnny Sexton is
missing after picking up an injury last week and having surgery.

I have emptied my wallet on Leinster.

My bets for this weekend still to play in the Gallagher Premiership are:

London Irish, Harlequins, Exeter and Leicester to win their respective games.  Earlier, the Saracens won their game.

In the United Rugby Championship games, Edinburgh are nearly unbackable at $1.03, Cardiffe $1.34, Connacht $1.18, Leinster  $1.08 and the stormers just firmer at $1.75 compared with Glasgow on $2 neat.

Let's see if we can clock up a few more wins this weekend in the URC Round 12?

I have just placed 4 bets for this round:

Ulster to win away to Benetton @ 1.49

Cardiff at home to beat Scarlets @ 1.26

Connacht v Sharks, Connacht are favourites here against the 5th place Sharks and its
very doable for them when at home but I'm guessing a close game and have gone
with a +6.5 on the Sharks @1.62

Glasgow v Stormers, The odds are close here but I have gone with the #2 team, the Stormers @1.81.
They have only lost 1 and drawn 1 this year and cannot afford for the gap to open wider
between themselves and Leinster in 1st.

Yes, I had a couple of wins which is always nice.  I'm only wagering a couple of dollars, so I'm not risking the homestead and silverware or anything of the sort.  Grin
