Women's Rugby World Cup

The grand final takes place on Saturday, New Zealand v England. Being a home tournament
for the Black Ferns they are not the favourites, this has the makings of being a great final, is there
is a value bet on for New Zealand @ 2.73 ?

MASSIVE day of Rugby yesterday, I asked the question above regarding the Women's
Rugby World Cup Final if NZ were a value undergo bet, and they absolutely were, they
won the final 34-31....but I didn't pull the trigger on that bet.

Well done to them.

Autumn Internalionals

I had two bets on yesterday, Ireland to beat Fiji....but with -21.5 points which they failed
to do, it was a patchy enough game with a good few second team players getting
a start. They won but "only" by 18 points.
More importantly they hold onto
their #1 spot.

My second bet on Argentina didn't pay either, Argentina took the lead early on,
Wales had a shaky start but got the job done to "just about" win from a very
good Argentinian team, it was a close enough game, 20-13.

Rugby League

I only had one bet on the Men's World Cup this weekend, Australia to beat New Zealand.
I was going to bet on England to beat Samoa but actually forgot to do it, they lost!

Australia won, so it's an Australia v Samoa final.

That's a fairly busy schedule covering Men's, women's and wheelchair games. I have taken
my eye off the RLWC but I have 2 bets on for this weekend, England to beat Samoa
and Australia to beat New Zealand. The odds are OK but not brilliant, Australia 1.2 and
England 1.34. For me I would imagine either of these are going to win the final.

Timelord do you have an outright bet placed?

We're already up to the Rugby League World Cup quarter finals

In the men's games, powerhouses Australia, England and New Zealand and Samoa all overcame their opponents to progress through.

Likewise in the women's games, England (favoured to win), PNG, New Zealand and Australia all made clean sweeps of the competitors.

In the wheel-chair round two, England, Australia and France demolished their opponents with just the Wales Vs USA game proving to be the one to watch with a more realistic scoreline.

Over the week-end, I expect Australia to overcome New Zealand comfortably while Samoa might just upset the English to give themselves a slot in the grand-final.  or the women's third round, Papua New Guinea might just overpower England along with Australia over New Zealand while out of the Canada Vs Brazil and France Vs Cook Islands games, I'm going to go with Canada and Cook Islands (only because they actually scored in the previous games)

Shortly, Australia takes on Spain then England over Ireland then France and Wales to win over USA and Scotland (with these two games being the ones to watch for closer points scored).

Plenty of international games to look forward to this coming weekend.

Autumn Internationals

Ireland v Fiji
Italy v Australia
England v Japan
Wales v Argentina
France v South Africa
Scotland v New Zealand

The match of the weekend has to be France v South Africa, Six Nations champions v
World cup champions, It will be a close game with France the favourite.

Another close game should be Wales v Argentina, these should be evenly matched but
Argentina will be looking to build on that big win from las weekend.

Yes great victory for the Jaguaretes aka Pumas Tongue

A very strange statistic two games in the same day/week/round finishing 30-29, a margin of only 1 point and the same exact result.

Who its the favourite to win the Rugby World cup?

And with such high scoring games involving top teams!

For next year's world cup I guess France will be favourites, they are currently no.2 on the world
rankings and are the current 6 Nations champions and the world cup will be a home tournament
for them.

They have been building to this for a few years and it looks like they could peak at the right
moment for it. Next in line would have to be the All Blacks.

Great series of games in the Autumn Internationals week 2....

Italy had a massive win against Samoa 49-17, Scotland did the business against Fiji 28-12,
Wales got done by New Zealand 22-55.

Ireland had a tough match against South Africa but remain at #1 after winning 19-16.

France had a very tough match against Australia, the two teams separated by 1 point 30-29.

And the shock of the week, England beaten by Argentina 29-30. This was a game I really
wanted to bet on and thought about going with the Jaguars but i didn't fully believe in them.

WRWC

Two semi finals this weekend, New Zealand beat France by 1 point and England beat Canada.

Big round of internationals continuing this weekend, I think the pick of all the games
will be Ireland Ranked #1 v South Africa World Cup holders.

Ireland AFAIK have a full 1st team squad starting while South Africa are playing a non
natural #10 which could prove to be a weakness. It will be a tough game.

Ireland are favourites so I have a bet on "us" to win!

Some other interesting games:

Wales v New Zealand
France v Australia
England v Argentina

It's funny how the Welsh Rugby League team doesn't do anywhere near as good as their Union counterparts.

I think I'll take your suggestion and take a punt on them.

Well Papua New Guinea won by 36 points, Wales failed to register a score.

Papua New Guinea wouldn't be normally be regarded as a "Rugby Nation" but they are currently
ranked fifth on the world rankings!

They are through to the quarter finals and play Australia next I think?

I had a bet on Australia to win, the odds were fairly level at around 1.8. When Scotland
got on top of the game and went into the lead I feared for my bet, Australia went out to
around 3.5 at that stage and I thought of adding another usually when I do that I lose

The yellow card for Scotland let Australia back into the game and they managed to
take the lead again. With 2 minutes to go Scotland had a penalty kick to take the lead again,
and missed.

Rugby League

I have only one bet on for today and for the weekend on the RLWC, Papua New Guinea
to win by 29 points from Wales.

I had no other bets on either on the WRWC

The Men's Australia Vs Scotland game went down to the wire with Australia winning by one point - Scotland's odds should have firmed up as a result of the close ending to the match.

I managed to see a few minutes o the Women's England Vs Australia game played on a rain soaked field in New Zealand.  The weather and England's hard hitting play ensured their easy win.

My two bets from yesterday in the URC came in, both Leinster and Glasgow Warriors
did a big job on both Scarlets and Benneton respectively.

URC

I haven't looked at what games are on this weekend

In the two games this evening there are surprisingly good odds on the favourites,
Leinster to beat Scarlets @ 1.31
Glasgow Warriors to beat Benneton @ 1.35

I have 3 more on for today's games:
Dragons to beat Zebre
Ulster to beat Munster
Connacht to beat Ospreys
- this could be a tricky one, Ospreys are at home but I think
Connacht have found their winning ways and will be looking to build on recent good
performances. They have to win this to leave their abysmal start to the season behind.

Another 3 winning picks yesterday in the URC, Ulster just beat Munster by 1 point, I
actually didn't think it was going to be that close.

And Connacht are definitely on a winning streak to win away to the Ospreys.

Autumn Internationals

There were 2 games this weekend Japan v New Zealand, NZ just about winning, by the scoreboard
it looks like that was a super game, Japan 31 - 38 New Zealand !

Also Scotland v Australia, We watched that game, it was very entertaining, Australia
winning by 1 point - 15 - 16.

Timelord did you see that game?

Rugby League World Cup

I have just two bets on - Ireland to beat Lebanon and Papua New Guinea to beat
the Cook Islands
, I have done a -16.5 point spread on that one.

My last two bets on the Rugby League World Cup didn't workout, Ireland were beaten
and Papua New Guinea only won by 16 points.

Really busy time coming up in the calendar with the Autumn Internationals kicking off
in just over a week> https://www.autumn-internationals.co.uk/2022/

some serious games ahead:
Ireland v South Africa and Australia
England have 4 massive games against Argentina, Japan, New Zealand and South Africa.
Australia are playing Wales and Scotland also.
Argentina are playing 3 games, England, Scotland and Wales, tough matches for the Panthers.

I haven't looked at the odds yet but Ireland over South Africa could be interesting,
this will be our first game with no doubt new players in the mix, hmm a lot to think about.

Tricky game for both France and Italy coming up, I will probably go with France

I'm playing catch-up after having a couple of weeks vacation (or rather a STAYcation as the case may be).

I won on Leinster, lost on the Stormers (should have gone with Cardiff) and won on Edinburgh, the Saracens, Canada (W), Italy (W) but LOST OUT on Canterbury over Wellington (woe is me!)

I also won on Ireland, but lost on Fiji.  (and just as a totally unrelated aside, I've won three times (place) on LADIES IN RED on the Harness racing in Victoria).

Coming up in Rugby Union, Japan is $17 against New Zealand (suspended), so no bets there.

Scotland and Australia are even at $1.90, so I'm going with Australia.  Ireland ($1.60) are more favoured over South Africa at $2,25, so I'm going with Ireland to win.

On Monday, I'm going with England $1.14 over Argentina $5.20

Over in the Women's World Cup there are some very short odds on the more favoured teams: France $1.01, England (Suspended) New Zealand (Suspended) and Canada $1.12

The Rugby League World Cup sees similar short priced favourites.

New Zealand, England, Fiji, Australia Lebanon all suspended while Samoa is nearly unbackable at $1.02

Will you be following the up coming Autumn Internationals? I believe Argentina will be
playing both Wales and Scotland.

I dont know because im really busy following other sports, but yes always i check the results of the "pumas".
Fact: Did you know that the term pumas for the Argentine national team is actually incorrect?

Actually the animal on the shield is a Jaguarete, an animal very similar to a puma/tiger that is from the Mesopotamian area of Argentina.

That's why the superrugby team is called jaguars for jaguarete.

The mistake comes from the fact that many years ago the English saw the shield at first and automatically thought it was a cougar and this later expanded and stayed that way.

Wow, I didn't know that!
That is so stupid that the association with the wrong type of car has lingered. I will from
now on refer to them as the Jaguars!

There is also another world cup in progress ATM, The Women's Rugby union World Cup,
but I guess Women's Rugby is not a thing in Argentina

How are you doing here? Long time without passing here from me. Im very busy with other sports.

But i come here and read where its the rugby world now, and discovered a "rugby" that its not played so much in my country (Argentina), im refering to the Rugby League. i really didnt know about his existence, so i have to google it and find they play with 13 player and not 15 and a few minor change to the traditional one.

Here we play the conventional Rugby Union and the "seven".

And i google it because of...... Lebanon beating Ireland in rugby??? this cant be true.... and find what i said above.

Well you always learn new things.

Yes Rugby Union and Rugby League are similar games but of course there are different rules
and scoring.

There are IMO only a few countries where both codes are "equally" popular or maybe 1 a little
more than the other, England, Australia and New Zealand.

Here in Ireland the Rugby League World Cup doesn't register on sports news.
