Tomorrow is the kick off for the WRWC, Roll it have the games listed but the books
are set at handicaps, I suppose that is because of the big divide in talent in the sides.

World number 1 England play Fiji who are world #21, the handicaps are -56.5 @ 1.82 v
+56.5 @ 1.89
56 points is a massive score, I would be half tempted to do Fiji for example.

I don't have any bets on just yet.

Round 4 of the URC is currently underway. I have 3 bets on this weekend.

Bulls to beat Glasgow Warriors
Ulster to beat Ospreys
Stormers to beat Zebre

The Women's Rugby World Cup kicks off this weekend, hosted by New Zealand.

https://www.rugbyworldcup.com/2021/pools

The format is 12 teams in 3 groups. The top 5 ranked teams are present, England,
New Zealand, Canada, France and Italy so big things are expected of them, especially
New Zealand at their home event.

I think Roll it will be listing the games, I'll be making a few bets if they have.

I had the Panthers backed since August 11th to win the final. I never thought the Eels would
reach the grand final given their patchy season compared to last year. But as the finals progressed
I favoured them more, enough to back them twice.

It was a poor result from them to only score 12 points inside the last 10 minutes.

Rugby Union

Catching up with my bets from Round 3 of the URC. I got 3 from 4.

Leinster beat Ulster,
Bulls beat Connacht
Benneton beat Scarlets

Ospreys beat Warriors

Also kicking off shortly is the Women's Rugby union World Cup 2021 2022

I put a separate post together for that.

I'm still mulling over whether the Panthers or Eels will win this week-end.

The 2022 NRL Grand-finals have been played and for both the Women's and Men's finals, the teams favoured by the gambling sites won their respective games.

On a long day of finals, the NRLW Newcastle Knights won against the Eels - even the Knight's Captain was hoping the Eels would win to set up the men to win their clash with the Panthers, alas it was not to be.  Both Eels teams scored just twelve points in the losses - from recollection, there were two missed conversions which would have made both winning scores 32 - 12.

As is tradition after the Grand Final, the teams to represent Australia internationally have been named with the World Cup in England kicking off on the 15th of October.

(Was the Cup delayed from 2021? - check out the logo on the above promotional image from the NRL press release).

I have two more bets on this weekends round 3 of the URL. I have the Vodacom Bulls
at home to beat Connacht, and Leinster to win away to Ulster. this could be a tricky one
as they are both 1 and 2 ATM but Leinster will have key players back tonight! Ulster are
no pushover though.

On the Bulls / Connacht game, Connacht have a key player Bundee Aki got a red card last
Weekend and picks up an 8 match ban, that's a massive blow to Connacht and Ireland.

Quote
Aki will miss five Connacht matches as well as Ireland's opening internationals in
November with South Africa and Fiji in Dublin.

You did well calling those games.  I'm still mulling over whether the Panthers or Eels will win this week-end.

I saw the second half of the Women's Australian Prime Minister's XIII take on PNG. it was painful to watch when the score got to 60+ - 6 at a near empty Lang Park venue.

TBH I'm thinking on adding another bet on the Eels. This could be their year. And as I
said a few times already they have proven they can get the better of the Panthers already
this year. They are out to 3.55 on Rollbit, I think thats a great price. I cant believe the
difference in odds really, 1.27 - 3.55?

On the ladies games, it is a pity they just dont get the same exposure as the mens
games, thats across the board with all sports bar Beach Volleyball for example, for voyeuristic
reasons!

Update on last weekends round 2 of the URC.

I ended up with 2 of 3 winning bets. My third pick Munster lost to the Dragons and are in
second last position just ahead of Connacht. As for irish teams there are two at the top
and two at the bottom. Its early days so a lot has to happen yet.

for round 3 next weekend there are a good few closely matched games, 1st v 2nd for
example. I have 2 bets on so far:

Benneton at 1.54 to beat Scarlets
Ospreys to be beaten by Glasgow Warriors at 2.1

Massive win by the Panthers to set up the final with the team who beat them twice this
year already. It should make for a cracking game.

It looks like the Panthers are the peoples favourite already, the odds over on Rollbit are
Panthers 1.28 - 3.45 Eels. Not a bad price for the Eels who in my mind are closer than the odds
suggest.

Rugby Union

Over at the URC I am 2 from 2 so far. My third pick Munster are playing today,
obviously I'm hoping for 3 from 3!

NRL GRAND FINAL 2022 IS NEXT WEEK!

The Panthers scored 32 unanswered points after the Rabbitohs led 12 - 0 at half time.

Next week, the Grand Final - The Parramatta Eels face off against the Penrith Panthers. (Both are Western Sydney suburbs)

I'm going to wait a day or two to put my money down.  I think the Panthers have the form in number one to win, but the Eels could just about jinx them and win in an upset.

In the NRL Women's semi Finals tomorrow, the Knights (Maidens) and Dragonets face off - on paper, it looks as though the Fair Maidens (Roosters in number one spot on the ladder), will slay the Dragonets whilst the Hens will probably pluck the Eels given their points differential.

Keep an eye out for some friendly matches with the Australian Prime Ministers' Thirteen facing off against Papua New Guinea (both a men's and women's team games).

England and Fiji also square off but must be playing in the northern hemisphere given the start time on the NRL website.

The Rugby Championship is back again this weekend, this is finals week so after this the
winner will be decided. New Zealand are looking to win this again but will be facing Australia
and South Africa in second place will be facing Argentina who along with them will be looking
for away wins.

Both home teams are on 14 points but it could come down to for/against difference,
New Zealand currently on 41 and South Africa on 28.

I have small bets on both underdogs, I'm not sure how confident I am though

Sounds like the Cowboys were looking like booking their own place in the final but the slippery Eels
powered through the second half to snatch the victory.

If the Panthers win tomorrow the grand final will be epic, 3rd time meeting this year, will it be third
time lucky for the Panthers?

I saw the first half and it was very close with an almost try by the Cowboys after just ninety seconds then an actual try after nine minutes.  The Eels conversion kicker Vs the Cowboys counterpart is probably what got them over line in the end as the Cowboys were trailing 10 - 12 just before half time then scored a two point field goal at the 40th minute to even the score at twelve points a piece.

The Bunnies will be looking for an upset tonight -the Eels were paying 3.5 and they were at 2.35 yesterday, so it's not beyond the realm of possibility the Rabbitohs will prove the pundants wrong with a win.

Either way, the finals matches are always dynamite to watch.

It'll either be the Cowboys Vs the Rabbitohs, or, the Eels Vs the Panthers.

The odds are in favour of the Cowboys tonight and against the Rabbitohs tomorrow night. (Both of whom I've put money on to win this week).

The Rabbitohs have a player back from a 25 week injury absence and their game last week was electric.

The Eels didn't manage to win against the Panthers when they last met, so it's very much do-or-die tonight.

With the Sharks out, I'm leaning towards either the Cowboys or Rabbitohs to win the Grand Final.

Round 2 of the United Rugby Championship gets under way tomorrow. I'll be doing a few
bets and hopefully I can make amends for the disasterous results from R1.

I would pick the Sharks to beat Zebre and Leinster to beat Benneton but the odds are shockingly low,
Obviously Leinster being one of the very top teams its expected but Benneton should
get some credit after beating Glasgow Warriors last week.

So I'm going with 3 winners:

Glasgow Warriors to bounce back from defeat last week and beat Cardiff

Ulster to beat the Scarlets

and Munster to make amends from the defeat last weekend and beat the Dragons.

A month ago, I wrote this about a potential Grand Final match-up:

I watched the Broncos Vs Storm game from start to finish - the Broncos were playing the same as they were at the start of the season where I said I wouldn't back them any more.  I'd be gob-smacked if they made the Grand Final.

Increasingly, I'm seeing The Panthers Vs the Sharks in the Grand Final with the Sharks to win.  Week after week, they just get in and play a decent game.

...

If it's not the Panthers Vs Sharks, then it'd be Cowboys Vs The Storm (with Townsville winning that dust-up)

The Storm were beaten by the Raiders who in turn were beaten by the Eels who have to beat the Cowboys to then make the GF.

I'm thinking now that it's going to be the Cowboys in the GF and maybe the Rabbitohs, regardless, the Panthers Vs Rabbitohs game will be the one to watch this week-end.

North Queensland Cowboys - Parramatta Eels Money Line North Queensland Cowboys @ 1.68 Taken Amount: 0.10 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.168 mBTC

Nitro Betting doesn't have the Panther's Vs Rabbitohs game which is interesting - last week-end, they had neither knockout game.

It'd be funny if its the Eels Vs the Rabitohs...

I remember that post actually.

Based on normal seasons ladder its only fitting that 3 of the top 4 teams are in the semi's
and if we follow that logic it should be a Cowboys v Panthers. I know there is no logic
involved but I'm also going to go with the Cowboys and Panthers to reach the final.

I have the Panthers to win the title but I fear for their chances if they meet the Eels there
as they are the only team to have beaten them twice this season!

So its Eels and Rabbitohs through to Week 2 of the finals, Raiders and Sharks are out.

A disappointing end to the shark's season - the game was painful for more than one reason - my internet connection was somewhat patchy and the game would freeze (usually before something dramatic happened - one moment the sharks were about to score, the game would freeze, then when it unfroze, the Rabbitohs had stolen the ball and run the length of the field to score try ater try.)

On paper, the Sharks in second place should have beaten the Rabbitohs in seventh place, but South Sydney played a much slicker game especially passing the ball four or five times in very quick succession.  They may upset the Panthers on Saturday night.

Bit of a disastrous weekend of betting.

In the Rugby Championship I had Argentina to beat South Africa which didnt happen.
Final score was Argentina 20 - 36 South Africa. It wasnt a whitewash and the Pumas were
able to get 20 points against the Springbok's, might be closer next game?

In round 1 of the URC I had 1 from 3. Bennetton showed some quality to beat Glasgow Warriors,
I had forgotten that Benetton had won the "Rainbow Cup" last year.

And Munster were beaten by Cardiff and strangely Leinster were run close by Zebre 29-33 Leinster.
