Jordan Henderson has signed to Al Ettifaq. What do you think about this transfer? Henderson became another great football player who went to Saudi Arabia after playing for Liverpool for years. The 33-year-old could actually find a place in a good team in the big leagues if he wanted to, but Al Ettifaq must have offered a good contract. Henderson, who has a 3-season contract, will probably end his career here.
Henderson was a great player, and he has been a captain on liverpool for so many years. Many people are getting heartsick after knowing he will be leaving from the club to join in ettifaq. It's not only it. Fabinho is also on the way to join in al ittihad. Liverpool is gonna lose two players. Henderson is gonna get £700k/week. He knew the consequence from his decision to leave from liverpool.

It's important to distribute the star football players to the teams in a balanced way in terms of the promotion of the league. Not a single super team has been created, there are many competitive teams. This will definitely increase the viewing rates.
So many saudi pro league has been massively recruiting so many players from european leagues. It's only one or two. The summer transfer season is still long way to go. There will always be chances for saudi clubs to sign more players to make all of teams balanced.
AFAIK, a lot of saudi clubs have been also preparing their delegations in EU to recruit the new player to play in SPL.

Mbappe will try to chase titles in Europe and Ballon d'Or too and he will not sacrifice his career in Europe to join Saudi Professional League only because of money he can earn in the nation. He is greedy but he is an ambitious player too and I think his ambition is bigger and more important for him than his greediness and money.
Mbappe already turned down Al Hilal offer, I saw it on news yesterday, he just make a brilliant decision which am sure will be a difficult decision to make. It’s just better for Mbappe to focus on his career for now, I know Al Hilal made a juicy offer which am sure it’s very tempting for every players, but if Mbappe can accept there offer, then his career has already being destroyed. I know Saudi league are trying to build their league, they want peoples attention to shift to their league that’s why they are spending all those huge amounts on money on transfers, but they can’t just get the kind of attention they need in short period of time, it’s a gradual process, they shouldn’t just spend all this amount of money on players in just a season alone.

We are seeing more and more and more players going towards Saudi league, it is not that great still yet, we are still seeing mostly 30+ year olds going there, still not that many talented young players there so far, and that's a reality check this league will face when they start the league, we will see those players who go there for the money not play with their heart in it.

But at the end of the day, they still managed to achieve something not that many other teams has achieved so far, which is making sure that they are getting their names heard as a league. This means that they will have a lot of people watching their games, they already did it last season with Ronaldo, and now this season there will be a lot more people for sure.
In theory, the Saudis are doing everything right. For starters, the sheikhs tried European soccer by buying PSG, Manchester City and other teams, but even after spending billions of dollars and the demise of these clubs, for many they remained strangers, mere bags of money to be tolerated until a European or American owner comes and buys the club.
Now they are pouring money into their own leagues, into their own country, as I think it is more promising.

There was a club in Russia called "Anzhi Makhachkala" a long time ago, where they pumped millions of dollars and bought world-class players like Samuel Eto'o, Roberto Carlos, Willian and others. The club played in the European leagues, was on the rumor then.

But as soon as the oligarch's money ran out or rather they were plundered, everything fell apart at once, all the players were sold and in a couple of years everyone forgot just the star players. Now the club is disbanded.

Steven Gerrard managed to convince him to leave Liverpool even though he is still a player who has an important role at Anfield, I'm not sure he would have left Liverpool if it weren't for Steven Gerrard. It was a good buy for Ettifaq because even though Jordan Henderson is over 30 years old he is still playing well, and he can always give a strong spirit to his friends in the team.
It's just my guess, I think he will be the captain of the Ettifaq team, because while at Liverpool he has been quite successful in showing his leadership.
There will be at least 4 former Liverpool players going to the SPL, Fabinho is still in negotiations and Mane, who was once rumored to be going to the SPL, has received an official offer from Al Nassr with a transfer value of 37 million Euros and the agent has opened talks with the Arab club.
Saudi clubs are not relenting in on dedicating themselves to sign more players; they continue to target and bring in players from European clubs, since this is the only way to maintain their league appealing characteristics intact. Jordan Henderson is almost certainly a legend, and after spending so many years with the club, I see no reason for him to leave without his Anfield credentials. Jurgen Klopp believed in him; nonetheless, he is becoming older and may need to leave this competitive team. It's shocking to watch Liverpool players give the go-ahead to Saudi clubs during the transfer window.

You're right, Mbappe is currently a topic in the world of football all of that means nothing if he never gets the Champions League title and other titles so we all understand his ambition and he knows that only with Madrid will he have the chance to achieve anything. Currently Mbappe is 24 years old, meaning he still has 6 years to pursue a career after reaching 30 years he will think about other things besides career

6 years is a very long time, both for the Saudi Professional League as well as the European leagues. Your question regarding the SPL is applicable for the European leagues such as EPL and Ligue 1 as well.
Six years are long if we think of it at the present but if we look at the past, we can see our past six years passed very quickly and it is just yesterday. Career-span of a football player is very short and Mbappe is like other football players, he must to care of his career, his income which he can have though his career and how to achieve best things from titles to personal awards during golden time of his career. To solve all of these and to maximize his career are very challenging for Mbappe.

Quote
And in case of SPL, I am expecting this big investments to continue till at least 2030. Because Saudi Arabia is hoping to win hosting rights for the 2030 FIFA World Cup. This is one of the reasons why they are strengthening the SPL, by brining in star players from all around the world. Anyway, Mbappé doesn't have any intention to move to Saudi Arabia for now.
They are a rich nation and has a solid strategy with good support from their government and I believe that they are doing this with a very long term vision, like hosting another World Cup in Middle East after Qatar 2022. They also want to achieve bigger results on field, better than Qatar in the latest World Cup.

To achieve this, they will have to build up a stronger Saudi Professional League and it can not be done after one or two years. So the last few months are beginning of their plan for like one or two next decades.

Current updated transfer until July 27 to Saudi Pro League teams could build become one teams for European player for joining with several Saudi Pro League teams, last updated transfer Jordan Henderson have reach done deal with Al Al Ettifaq for following Steven Gerrard and become most expensive salary England player with payment 12 million euro per year. Still not close yet with top european player will move to Saudi Pro League teams due transfer window open left one month and have enough time for negotiation transfer fees and salary payment.

Here detail with several European players move to Saudi Pro League teams

AL-ITTIFAQ FC
  • Jordan Henderson
It's very good that the story with Henderson ended well and the transfer took place. Liverpool of course took their 12 million, but let Henderson go.
With him we can say a whole era has gone, because he seemed almost 500 matches for Liverpool, 492 to be exact, scored 33 goals and made 66 assists, which for a player of his role is just great.
With Liverpool Henderson won almost everything and the Champions League, the English Cup, the English Premier League and not in 2016 in the final only could not beat Sevilla to win the Europa League.

In general a great player, useful for Liverpool, captain and the mark in the history of the club he left a good. Now he can enjoy life on the money of Saudi clubs, because 700 thousand a week hardly anyone else could pay him.

Jordan Henderson was a great player for Liverpool and he played there for years while we all know any player and even Jordan Henderson will get old over time and should get retired one day but still, I think instead of finishing his career in Arabian teams, Jordan Henderson could get retired in Liverpool.

It is only a matter of time before Kylian Mbappé is ousted and no longer among the world's elite talents. His current age and fitness will not allow him to join the Saudi team right now, but it does not imply he will not join in the future, even though he is currently in form. Mbappe's refusal of Al-Hilal's offer demonstrates that he is more interested in trophies that will render him an iconic figure in Europe and football history. I appreciate his decision, and no one is to blame for a person's decision or the road they choose for themselves and their career path.

I think the transfer is pretty good and Al-Ettifaq did a pretty good job this summer signing Liverpool legends. We know after 12 years at Liverpool, Jordan Henderson has won everything with Liverpool so even if there were offers from other European teams he would not be that interested. But if there is an offer from the Saudi league team it is a much more interesting thing about how to get big money at an age that is getting old. Currently there are only a few teams that dominate European player transfers and maybe this is just the beginning of the Saudi league to be able to convince the audience to start believing in this league in the future.
Signing a Liverpool legend and an England international to the Saudi Arabian League if you ask me is one of the strangest signings of this summer transfer window.
Al-Ettifaq must be very proud of what they were able to do. Jordan Henderson despite being in his 30s is a quality player that'll bring value to the club. The Saudi Arabian League gets even more interesting as the days goes by

If Mbappe wanted to earn money and money was his first priority he could stay in PSG and earn money and play in the top tournament in Europe while Mbappe reject the offer from PSG even if they pay him more money.
Considering Mbappe's age, I believe that he will never be able to play in a Saudi Arabian team.

I think is good for him Sir, Jordan Henderson has also won many achievements at Europa. Considering that he is already 33 years old, I think he has do the right choice by joining to Al Ettifaq, because the salary Ettifaq offers is also quite high for him. According to the news that I heard he will be paid 700 thousand/weeks, this offer is very fantastic for him Sir.
Yes, before when Ettifaq played people rarely watched, because we only know Ronaldo at Al-Nassr. Maybe most of the viewers only watch Al Nassr match, but now there are many other star players in different clubs, it will increase viewing rates for the new season of course.

PSG management has a feeling that they overpaid for Mbappé and rumors are that they are in favor of the player moving to the Saudi club. However, Mbappé doesn't want to move to Saudi Arabia, and this is adding a lot of complexity. Rather than allowing Paris Saint-Germain to sell him, Mbappé wants the contract to be terminated so that he can become a free-agent. And once this is done, he most probably want to enter in to talks with Real Madrid, to explore the possibility of representing them in La Liga next season.
That's sad mbappe is not even interesting to join in al hilal. AL hilal is only wasting its time to approach mbappe. AL hilal shall find a better start to be recruited, as mbappe is impossible to be recruited by al hilal at this moment. Mbappe once again makes the problem become even more complicated. I don't even know when this problem gonna end but my feeling said if this problem will end only if PSG let mbappe to stay till next year in the club. The personal agreement with real madrid has been making mbappe will reject any offers. PSG must be trying even harder to sell him. I hope that everything goes fine. Mbappe must think about getting a win win solution, but it's impossible to happen since mbappe doesn't even care with PSG anymore.
I think that PSG shall stop to pay his salary if he is still showing disrespect to the club. So meme about him has been spreading in internet especially twitter. Mbappe once again rejecting an offer to make him becomes most expensive player in the world.

For me, it would be wrong if Al hilal brought in Mbappe at a fantastic price. if only, Mbappe was willing to join Al Hilal, it would not necessarily make Al Hilal stronger and win trophies in various competitions. ideally, Al Hilal could sign 3/4 of Europe's other top players with the funds they provide for efforts to sign Mbappe. or it could be, this is just a scenario that Al Hilal is doing to get the attention of football lovers. plus, they encourage other top players to be interested in joining the Saudi Pro League, in particular joining Al Hilal.

If so, a sound strategy I guess. because I'm pretty sure, Al Hilal and PSG are well aware that Mbappe only wants to be willing to join Real Madrid. let alone the rumours, PSG say that Mbappe has agreed a pre-secret deal as reported by Romano. Mbappe's transfer saga, however, has become increasingly erratic and has only added to complications for both the club and Mbappe himself. but there are other rumors quoted by Romano, Al Hilal agreed terms with Verratti, as disclosed - talks with PSG. at least, Verratti could show his skills when he joined Al Hilal. even then, if there is a concrete agreement. well, let's just wait because there are still several names of top European players who are the targets of Saudi clubs.
PSG shouldn't be the one to tell Mbappe the club that he will go to. At least Mbappe is a man enough to make his decisions to which club he love to play with. Why is PSG complicating things for themselves and Mbappe by wanting him to join the Saudi clubs when he doesn't have the interest, all because the want to make profit. Was it Mbappe that told PSG to add to his funds after the world cup ?

I think Mbappe will regret ever playing in PSG with this nonsense that they are doing to him. He loves to play in Real Madrid and PSG is making it look difficult for him to play for his dream club just because they have the power to deprive him from moving. All these their decision on his life will end by next season when his contract will expire. Now I see why Messi left PSG without looking back,I see it that PSG are making fool of themselves because a player is to decide on the club he will love to play in and not the club that will choose for him.

But doesn't it depend on his personal goals and desires for his life? I have also read many comments about how he is throwing his career in the trash when he accepts to play for Al-Hilal, but when his goal is to make an impact in life and he wants to accumulate as much money as possible in order to be able to do exactly what he thinks is right in life, he would be dumb to not find an agreement with Al-Hilal. I can't tell what it is that he wants to achieve, but the amount of money we are talking about here can't be played down. This might well be something that is going through his mind these days, that with all that money he could change things that matter more than trophies.

I'm afraid you misunderstood, Al Hilal only made an offer to PSG while not starting talks with Mbappe meaning that 300 million is an offer for PSG as a release fee not to Mbappe, if 300 million is Mbappe's salary per year then I'm 99% sure Mbappe will accept this offer, imagine only playing for 5 years then he can buy one of the elite clubs in europa with his salary  Cheesy but the fact is that Mbappe will not earn more than 300 million per year wherever he plays including in the Saudi Pro League. I heard that if Mbappe moves to Madrid he will receive a salary of more than 100 million per year so maybe that's his consideration because he can get 2 opportunities career and salary while Al Hilal only offers a salary.

No, I am afraid that you misunderstood Wink The news reports were that Al-Hilal offered $331.9 million to PSG as the transfer fee and then they also offered

"a one-year contract worth up to 700 million euros, comprising a 200 million euro annual salary along with major commercial arrangements and image rights."

This is still all quite in the dark and I haven't found an official source that verified this one-year contract offer.

But since the Public Investment Fund from Saudi Arabia is involved and since they bought a majority stake also in the club Al-Hilal, there is no reason to believe that this is fake or has wrongly been spread by the media.

But I admit that I thought it is 700 million euro annual salary and any commercial arrangements are extra. This sounds more realistic now as it is not said for how long any of those commercial arrangements are supposed to run, but only that he has to play for the club for only one year. The 200 million euro salary are the new normal then I guess as that is roughly what Ronaldo and Benzema get as well.

Marco Verrati want to leave PSG because the fans want him to leave so there is no reason for him to stayed at PSG to much longer and the negotiation from Veratti and Al Hilal has showing good progress because it says both representative has personal agreement and if PSG allowing him to moved then immediatelly Veratti will be transfer to Al Hilal and previously PSG want 80 millions for Veratti but apparently Al Hilal will not dare to pay according to his price tag and reported Al Hilal will attempts to bid 30 millions maximum and they will wait to PSG respond whether PSG will accept that bid or they will rejected it but it wasn't mentioned the salary that Al Hilal will give to Veratti if this transfer really happens
PSG demanding £80M for Marco Verratti is quite ludicrous. I am a big fan of Verratti and he's had such an amazing career at PSG, he has 9 ligue 1 tittles, 9 French super cups, 6 French league cups and 6 French cups all to his name and maybe it's time to move on for a fresh challenge but the fee is just too much. Fo me, I think the £30M offered by Al Hilal is more than enough as Verratti is already 30 years old and might not have more years left to play at his peak. I don't think personal terms is going to be an issue because the Saudis are already known for handing over huge contract to European players.
A 3-year contract agreement has indeed taken place between Al-Hilal and Marco Verratti. The two of them had reached an agreement without any problems. It's just that right now the decision is indeed in the hands of the PSG president, namely Nasser Al Khelaifi, who doesn't look like he will let go of Marco Verratti for £ 30 million. But Al-Hilal seems to be also prepared for this and will increase the bid amount.

I like the aggressiveness of Al-Hilal who doesn't want to leave empty-handed after failing to persuade Mbappe. As we know Al-Hilal has made a very high offer to bring in Mbappe. PSG even allowed Mbappe to open further conversations with Al-Hilal. But Mbappe seems to have shown a negative response to Al-Hilal. So Mbappe has indirectly rejected Al-Hilal's offer. But Al-Hilal, who has gone to PSG but failed to get Mbappe, certainly doesn't want to go home empty-handed. So now they are really serious about bringing Marco Verratti even though they have to increase their offer. but to be honest, I also feel that the 30 million offer is good enough for Marco Verratti. But, PSG doesn't want to let Marco Verratti go cheap.

They are in business, of course they will not miss the opportunity when there are offers coming from Arab clubs, they will definitely set a high price for this player. I also like you that the price that Paris Sian Germain wants is too high for the player, but when looking at business of course the price is a very profitable price for this Paris team. But the question is, whether Al Hilal is willing at the price Paris Saint Germain wants, if they are me, then I will not understand it, because I might be able to buy a player with the same price but different abilities, and most importantly with a young age.
PSG are just trying to make money and get as much money from the Saudi as they can get since they have shown that they have enough money to spend. Al Hilal have brought Rúben Neves, Koulibaly, Milinković-Savić and Malcom for 55M, 25M, 40M and 60M respectively, they can pay higher than the 30M that they have offered for him, maybe not up to the exact amount that PSG are asking for, but an offer better than what they have brought. Marco Verratti has already agreed to the move, PSG just need some more incentive to let him go. Al-Hilal can pay.
