The league itself is their secondary concern. Their preliminary aim is to host the FIFA World Cup in 2030. Their ego was hurt, after arch rivals Qatar managed to host the tournament before them and used that opportunity to showoff petrodollar wealth. One of the reasons why they are splurging money to purchase all these star players is that they can use at least some of them during the bidding process. It is confirmed that Ronaldo will be leading their 2030 hosting bid, but it needs to be seen which of the other players will join.

In the end Neymar officially parted ways with PSG in this transfer window even though in the previous season he signed a contract extension with PSG but he had to end it early because he was no longer accepted by PSG fans. Apart from that this is a pretty good recruitment made by Al Hilal in this transfer market so as to provide additional strength which is quite impressive for their front line this season.

I think it's a bit exaggerated to worry about the phenomenon of top European players moving to the Saudi Pro League in fact those who move to this League are players who are called old players I mean the average age is 27-33 years and in fact most of them are at the end of their career towards retirement.
