All this people's interest in watching this deal will end in a few months and the reason is quite simple, nobody likes to watch games that don't have quality, what will remain will only be the bookmakers who may even be placing odds for the games of that league, but nobody will be doing as much publicity as they are currently doing, even if ronaldo is a good player after some time in that league without quality he will not even be with 30% with the same skills, that is ronaldo in that league will not be at the same level of players from europe

I can't agree with you, Saudi league is the strongest and most popular league in Asia, it's exciting league with many strong teams despite the arrival of Ronaldo. He surely won't be the same player he was in Europe, but the target of bringing him exceeds watching him play on the ground. Football is now helping countries to gain attention as the number of attendances is rising drastically, so it became a way to educate people about some cultures and that can help the country in many domains including tourism and economic. Moreover, they won't stop on Ronaldo as more players are on the radar of some wealthy Saudi teams.

It seems that in the near future we will be presented with a friendly match between Al-Nassr & Al-Hilal All Stars vs PSG. This will be a beautiful reunion for Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi after so long the two of them have never met in one match. It is reported that Cristiano Ronaldo will be the captain in this match, can't wait to see the two of them feel nostalgic when they remember that the two of them often met in the previous El Clasico match.

Al-Nassr FC had signed Cristiano Ronaldo, a world-class footballer. As a result, Saudi Arabian football gained a greater sense of visibility and prestige as a result of the signing. Due to these improvements, the national team will be able to play at a higher level and be more competitive. There seems to be a real commitment on the part of Saudi Arabia to see the improvements, so they will get themselves in a better position very soon.

If they have modest targets, then it may be achievable. Just because Ronaldo is playing in the Saudi Professional League, it doesn't mean that all the SPL players will start to showcase skills like him all of a sudden. The most immediate improvement will be a greater visibility for the Saudi Professional League. This league has attracted a lot of fan interest after Ronaldo joined Al Nassr. With greater visibility, there will be greater interest from sponsors and TV broadcasters. Ultimately a part of the money will end up at grass roots development programs around the country.

The presence of only Ronaldo might not automatically lead to the development or improvement of the Saudi League. But it will make the Saudi league attractive which might make more quality players to consider the league. If more players start arriving in Saudi Arabia there might be a transfer of skill and development from these foreign players to the Saudi League.

But I think one of the greatest  impediment to the development of the Saudi League might be their religious belief, Islamic laws and culture. Most footballer would prefer a free and democratic society, regardless of the money or how lucrative the contract might look. The question is; would they give other players the same privilege or right they have to Ronaldo. They answer to this question would determine how many quality players the league would be able to attract.

I agree that just because ronaldo is playing in that league the other players have not become good players, but what will happen is that ronaldo himself will start not playing well due to the fact that he is playing with players who are not top level players, ronaldo's skills will reduce each season and as a result he will retire forgotten. the truth is hard but it needs to be faced head on, this league is not competitive, so ronaldo obviously won't be running a lot or making much effort, it will be as if he were playing at an amateur level, any coach or physical trainer knows very well that when an athlete is not competing at the highest level he does not have high level skills

@Sithara007 Saudi Arabia is keen to host the 2030 World Cup, and that’s why they targeted Ronaldo because they knew that his signing would bring almost every soccer fan’s attention to their league and that would boost their chances of hosting the 2030 World Cup. Also Eden Hazard is the latest player being linked to joining the Saudi league, and if he too signs then he’ll play with Ronaldo which will further improve the optics for the league.

I wouldn't say that the KSA team is too strong. But they have a team of goodwill. KSA's win against Argentina was unexpected. Because they didn't win any match in the group stage. Saudi Arabia is a rich country and they are ready to spend money to strengthen themselves. They are also interested in hosting the World Cup. This is why they want to make themselves stronger. They are now adding talented veteran players to the Arab League. As a result, maybe their domestic players will become more experienced in the future. At the same time, more talented young players will emerge.

Saudi Arabia may not be a very strong team, but they have made huge improvements during the last few years. And all the money that is being poured in to Saudi football is finally giving some returns. And there is still room for improvement. The inclusion of players such as Ronaldo to the local league will definitely result in an improvement in the playing standards. But unlike the case with Qatar (who spent around $280 billion to host the world cup), they are spending money more cautiously. In the next 5-10 years time, Saudi Arabia will be one of the top-20 teams in global football.

The club and Nassr have been at the top of the discussion since the signing of Club Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.  All competitive games are held in Saudi Arabia with various clubs.  A few days ago, Saudi Arabian club and Nassr did not have such a storm of discussion, but Cristiano Ronaldo signed a contract with this club.  It has even been seen that there were few journalists coming to Nassr every week and now the massive journalist wedding has seen the full contribution of Cristiano Ronaldo to the club's press coverage.  However, the club will come forward in terms of the game because Ronaldo, as the world's best star, will try to teach everyone a good lesson after joining this club.  The club and Nassr players will also be updated in terms of the game.

Yeah, I very much doubt that Saudi Arabia would be one of the top 20 teams in the world. I highly doubt that. The Saudis are slowly delving into sports like tennis and now football. They’ve certainly got the money to improve and bring in more players like Ronaldo to their shores. Ronaldo had brought a whole lot of limelight to their league and I’m sure they’ll would be hoping to grow on that.
Look at the Chinese league. They had initially spent some good money to attract and pay English league players to their league. It initially was interesting, now I barely hear of the Chinese league anymore.

Football is not the most popular sport in China and the Chinese Super League is not that popular even within China. From what I heard, EPL has more viewership inside mainland China when compared to the CSL. Two decades ago when the Chinese Football Association took this step to attract star players from premier league to CSL, it was forecasted that gradually the quality of the local players will increase to such a level that they can play at the same level. But even now, foreign players continue to dominate the CSL, and only two (Zhang Yuning and Lin Liangming) out of the top-10 goal scorers for the 2022 season were Chinese citizens. Even for the government, football is not a high priority sport.

But I am more hopeful about the SPL. Football is easily the most popular sport there, and the government has also prioritized it. But still, there is a chance that things may not work out well in the end.

I'm sorry but looking at messi, he's playing in the european champions league, he plays in the league 1 a prestigious league and it's very competitive which means that the league 1 is a league that has a lot of good players and therefore messi is on top that is, messi is the best of the best, if messi leaves to play in an arab league, a league that has very low quality players, then messi will start to drop in quality due to lack of competitiveness and this will happen to cristiano ronaldo, when it is said that the good players who went to play in the Arab league and because their career is over are not lying, that's because a good player is only good because he competes with other good players, in the Arab league there are no good players, there is no competitiveness
Well I don't think there are no good player in Arab league - Arab is the hub of soccer - people are die heart fans of football
in fact it was Saudi Arabia which defeated the Argentina team.
Saying that there are no good players in Arab league is not being just.
Agree saying that there are no good players in the Arab league is quite unfair but taking the victory over Argentina in the World Cup as a benchmark that there are good players there is also not entirely true, and I believe what slow death conveys is more to individual players that there are not or maybe there are yet players who are as good as players who play in Europe or America with higher individual skills

The media did their best to kick Ronaldo out of Manchester United. The coach of the Portuguese national team did the same, keeping him in reserve. I don't even know the man's name. The name of the coach who will leave Ronaldo in reserve should be deleted from football history. Now there are critics for transferring to the Saudi League. He got rid of the unnecessary words of the media and earned a very good income. What could be more beautiful? He has already performed at a high level until this year and has broken unbreakable records. I don't think Ronaldo has been given the respect he deserves. I think it is wrong to ignore what Ronaldo has done for football by giving examples from his flamboyant life. Let's see what the answer will be when Messi is offered the same level. In my opinion, Messi should earn big income from football in his last years like Ronaldo.

Both the media and the ManU fans played their part. When Ronaldo was playing for them, they were constantly complaining about his performance. Jose Mourinho treated Ronaldo better when comapred to the treatment Ronaldo got at the hands of Fernando Santos, but that alone was not enough to retain him in ManU. And the joke is that once he announced his decision to quit ManU, all those fans who were complaining about him previously went up in arms and accused him of being greedy. This is a classical example of sour grapes, I would say.
That's what happened today. they are Man United fans. so anything related to the club they will definitely follow and even comment on it.
On the other side, Ronaldo fans, don't care what club they will defend. most importantly they watched their idols play in the field. not on the bench.
we've seen enough of this drama unfold. and I think it's enough to end. Ronaldo started his new career with a Club that was able to pay him well. that was enough, and just let him do his thing. The media doesn't need to get too excited about reports that they make carelessly.
This is an unstoppable discussion Ronaldos entry in Al Nassr and ending his career on Europe , but realistically Arabs have given him so much respect and so much honour which he is enjoying for sure . Let's hope he plays amazing football their and be fruitful for his league.

The thing about CR7 is undoubtedly one of the best things that have happened to him and his career, many say that it will be the end of his career, but I personally do not see it that way, I see this as an infallible opportunity for CR7 In the same way, if MESSI decides to go to an Arab team, this will become much more interesting, I think that now we see things from another point of view, will this Saudi league eventually have the audience of the PL? LA LIGA, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, now we could see that a League that was not taken into account could be something superior, if these players go there instead of the USA, they will give it all the excitement that everyone needs.

Cristiano Ronaldo will face Lionel Messi when he FINALLY plays in Saudi... A 'golden ticket' costs £2.2MILLION for what could be the G.O.A.T. rivals' final showdown - unless Argentine superstar cashes in with a £245m-a-year deal in the desert

Quote
The Saudi Pro League burst into the wider football world's conscience last month when Cristiano Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr after signing an eye-watering deal worth £175m-a-year.

Having previously been seen as just a minor league in the Middle East - since signing one of the sport's greatest-ever players - other stars such as Luka Modric, Marco Reus and Sergio Busquets have been linked with moves to Saudi Arabia as they wind down their illustrious careers.

If they keep paying players this much more money than anyone else could possibly offer, they will build a league that is unheard of and amazing. They could get even prime age players as well and not just old players, if you offered Mbappe 600 million a year, or 1 billion a year type of money, I know it would probably not happen, I know he will probably decline, but seriously who could "easily" say no to 1 billion a year and 5 year guaranteed deal?

That's 5 billion dollars, that's money that could get you a whole team for yourself in just 5 years. This is why it's all about the money, they need the money to keep this league going on the right track.

I am sure what they have spent on the big name of Ronaldo - they might have got that back in no time
along side they are now globally recognized - even among those whose are not the football fans.

I also agree with you, Messi is different from CR7, a true legend must know when to stop and the best time to stop is when you are at the peak of your career

Messi will not chase money by playing in an Arabic club, he will retire when he wants to and I am sure the last place for him to retire will be PSG, not Al Hilal team

I don't blame Ronaldo for playing for Al nassr,  this is something Ronaldo never planned or dreamed of playing for Al nassr. I'm sure Ronaldo know the age that is suitable for him to retire, maybe  this is not the time for him that is why he had to choose Al nassr.
the fame of Ronaldo has not decreased even to slightest degree after Ronaldo shifted to the Al nasar people of Saudi welcomed him with open heart and mind and even his family too. Though we are aware of Islamic laws - as per Islamic laws they do not allow living relationship but the welcomed Gogiana too
That is it, Ronaldo accepting the offer of Al Nassr does not change anything,  he still remains one of the greatest player in football. Fans still support him for accepting the new club he belongs to. Ronaldo didn't accept Al Nassr because of the money but he did because it was his only option.
