interesting, but what is the average similarity index of any academic thesis ?

in this field, knowledge proceeds generally by continuous progression, naturally with remarkable exceptions.

I totally agree with your observations. Ideally it needs to be checked by a good plagiarism checker in its entirety and the results manually compared for relevance.

He has been accused of plagiarism previously: https://news.bitcoin.com/craig-wright-shrugs-off-plagiarism-accusations/

I did a partial plagiarism check of Craig Wrights 2017 thesis for his PHD

His thesis is viewable here: https://researchoutput.csu.edu.au/ws/portalfiles/portal/9319444/90504

It came back with a "high risk of plagiarism score" when I did a complete "free" check but it wanted  $47 for the full report.

https://www.processrenewal.com/the-top-10-best-practices-of-business-process-management/
https://serc.carleton.edu/research_education/equilibria/phaserule.html

Looking at some of the results it appears parts were obtained from a 2014 publication.

Information Systems for Business and Beyond
By David T. Bourgeois, Ph.D.

https://bus206.pressbooks.com/

These publications do not appear to be referenced in the thesis "notes".

NOTE: Only a partial check was done. I have not individually verified the results.
I also have no idea how much similarities are allowed before it becomes plagiarism.

Perhaps someone with access to professional plagiarism checking tools can run it through the system.

As far as the legal ramifications of his testimony is concerned, well I'm no lawyer but I don't think he would have said what he did if he didn't think he could get away with it.

I think all this is proving that his understanding of legal processes is largely non existent.

If you accuse a person of drug dealing and child pornography you're slightly better off doing it when they're already in prison and convicted of it. If they're not then that's a teensy weensy problem.

Anything said in court is covered by absolute privilege. It means it cannot be used in defamation proceedings. It can also be reported.

However the trick is to get CSW to REPEAT the accusations outside of court. Preferably while he is in the UK where they have good libel laws.

I haven't read the full transcripts and haven't been paying much attention but perjury for a start (assuming theymos isn't actually one of the many DPR's  Grin). I'm really hoping the court actually goes after him for these lies. Asking for any sort of proof of half of what he's saying would be enough. He basically just keeps lying to get himself out of another lie and he's going to slip up  under pressure and contradict himself if he hasn't already.

I was thinking more of what's the endgame here for him? A small fine? A huge fine? Prison? The latter two? He doesn't seem to be planning more than several weeks ahead...

Don't forget CSW has a masters of laws. He also endured a substantial investigation by the Australian tax office. https://bitsonline.com/wright-supercomputing-liquidated/

So he is not unfamiliar with legal problems and legal strategy. He also has plenty of misguided fools supporters to spread his rhetoric and shit tokens crypto to exchange for money to pay for legal costs.

I personally believe his untruths will eventually catch up with him. I don't think the US judge will have endless patience with him.

Taking legal action should only be done as a last resort - but if you do - throw all your resources at it.

I wouldn't recommend anyone to take him to task unless you have ample time and deep pockets. But if he sues you - give him WW3

If he repeats it outside of court he cannot claim absolute privilege. His supporters can quote the court testimony but CSW can potentially be seud for libel or defamation if he repeats it outside of the courtroom.

But Martti had the best reply:

My guess is he has a well-funded staff of lawyers at his disposal who are coaching him on his every move. They're telling him exactly what he can and can't get away with in whatever legal system he's dealing with.

I'd like their names so I never employ them myself. I don't see how anyone could conduct themselves in court the way he has if he's actually taking on board the advice given him.

I presume they're pocketing the money and keeping their own opinions to themselves. All he's produced so far is a string of lies and literally nothing else.

Eventually the house of cards will collapse, but when is anybody's guess. I'm kind of measuring the whole thing by the market cap of BSV.

They can not do much to counter the forgeries in court.

It looks like he still doesn't realize that his credibility has been severely damaged.
I believe he still wants to convince us, because this is all he has left. If he stops, it means he failed.

He's trapped in this given the insane amount of stuff that was made up.
This is the perfect exemple of why someone should not lie : at the end it becomes such a mess, that you lose yourself in it and start contradicting yourself.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"

I admit I was a little tempted to troll the world by roleplaying CSW's allegations as totally true...

Yep, there can be human thoughts and temptations, yet likely many of us are glad that you did not act upon your temptation, however fleeting it may have been.

Ultimately, the costs of misinterpretation would be too great, even if it had been clearly a trolling effort and/or a joke that was later clarified.

Again, it would be great to know if Wright's statements had truth behind them or not:

Of course not, do you really need to ask?

 - I was made a forum admin in 2011, after Satoshi left. (Silk Road also appeared after Satoshi left.) I didn't have any special access to bitcoin.org until around 2013, and in fact I didn't even have any access to the bitcointalk.org DNS until 2013.
 - I've never bought or sold anything on Silk Road, Hydra or similar sites; nor did I have anything whatsoever to do with their operation; nor AFAIK did I even have interactions with anyone involved in running these sites. While I am opposed to drug laws, I have never used illicit drugs, and in fact I also abstain from alcohol & nicotine. Furthermore, since the beginning I have warned over and over again that Tor is not secure against active government attacks: I wouldn't be found dead running one of these sites.
 - I never had any interaction with CSW. I don't have any keys related to CSW's (probably fictitious) SSS thing.

CSW's whole shtick is to just lie constantly. He's so brazen about it that some people think, "there must be some truth there," but really it's 100% nonsense.

I admit I was a little tempted to troll the world by roleplaying CSW's allegations as totally true...

Sue him, expose him, make him bleed bigtime.

He deserves to be crushed and jailed.

He would use your silence as an "evidence" to keep on with his act and his narrative.

Again, it would be great to know if Wright's statements had truth behind them or not:

Even though Theymos disagrees, I believe there's a possibility Craig was part of a team known today as Satoshi.
Was he 50% Satoshi? 20%? 5%? We don't know and since he seems to be spreading at least some lies we can't trust his words.

For me, it doesn't matter. It's obvious he's not a trustworthy person and therefore I'd stay away from whatever involves him. If hd helped in creating Bitcoin has no meaning at the moment since he's not controlling it.

not anymore available.

If I remember rightly it's geoblocked for 'legal reasons' so try a VPN from another country. I got the same and I'm in the UK. Craigy runs this goddamn country now doncha know. He IS power.

Can't you sue this huge tool? I'm sure we could easily get that crowd-funded for you. I know you're probably against that too but this guy really needs to face some repercussions for his continued lies. It's absurd that he tries to sue anyone who even claims he isn't satoshi yet he is ok lying and completely slandering people. He's basically just told a court that you're a drug trafficker and child pornographer. Based on what evidence? Pretty sure you would have no problems in successfully suing him for that. This guy actually deserves to be in jail and I hope this court goes after him for perjury.

Realistically speaking, what sort of trouble csw got himself into this time? The transcripts are hilarious.
